  • Hey, suppose I made this without adding sawdust or texturiser, would it be suitable to make slimey/oozy textures for decorating? Also, how long does it take to dry?

  • @HollyJFerguson - you could use it for those kind of details, though it does take some time to dry. In my experience, using a hot-glue gun to create oozing puss and slime is MUCH easier.

  • hrmmm, some silicons are oil based which means it will not bond well with the other ' ingredients' ... as long as its an acrylic silicone (which sounds very strange to me) then it should be fine

  • can i use silicone sealant instead of acrylic gap filler

  • I agree ! Add glue man ! because it's glue ! I even add some glue when baking muffins :p I mean c'mon, it's glue :)

  • Can i use paper mache for that?

  • I find that non-sanded grout works excellent for jobs like this, if it's a thick mixture. Plus you need to put something strong, like epoxy, over it, to keep it from cracking.

  • Thanks m8 hope your better now

  • one question: How can you remember what price you bought stuff for 2 years ago? Thats some intense memory!

  • @merkonerko2 - hehe, I have a shocking short-term memory, things just seem to get clearer after time ;)

  • This is amazing.... thanks so much for this vid and all your others! ;)

  • is this the same "goop" you use for your hills and fake rocks?

  • @wasderlike - pretty much, I usually add one type of substance to give me texture for various surfaces - sand, sawdust, gravel etc ....

  • sausage or turd???

  • Viv,

    Nice tutorial.

I've found that the tins of plaster that drywall installers use (we call it MUD here in the USA) to fill cracks works great as "goop". One tin costs about what your tube of caulk costs and its allready blended to an almost perfect consistency. If you want thicker just toss a little sawdust in. It dries quickly, sands easily, and paints up nicely. Faster and a bit cheaper.

  • Viv you are too cool PUNK. Excellent vid, really enjoyed.

  • cool

  • Looks yummy! :)

  • good vid viv.

i like the fact you've made your own flock of various types of colour

  • Hey, Viv! Get well!

  • Also you should use cat litter for gravel and stuff, there are various sizes and shapes - it's cheap and good for everything! Try it out :)

  • @spacepaw1 - I use 3 different brands of kitty litter ;p ... good stuff!

  • I use that Acrylic paint!

  • Get well soon

  • Awesome vids coming outta your channel atm!

  • I have to say you have started to release videos left and right! :D which I love it have really got me in the mood to start making more terrain! Your videos are very helpful as you also show us how to make stuff like Goop and concrete effects!

  • :) i like your rendition of goop too! Kamloopian had a mix for one that coats buildings, but yours is really nice for ground cover!

  • OK Viv. Great video man . Great job. I want to know about the home made flock. Keep up the great work. Tim MacCowan get well soon

  • Sweet a how to video. Thanks man.

  • Looks like Oatmeal, lol. Thanks for this, very handy.

    Get better man. :P

  • Thanks Viv and feel better! Can't wait to hear more about dying the sawdust for flock too! Is the hardware/home improvement store the place to pick up sawdust by the bag? Animal/farm supply maybe if they use it for bedding?

  • @Scherdnr - your second suggestion is spot on, I couldnt find it in many hardware stores, timeryard generally throw it away - mine I bought from a supplier who sells only saw dust variants for various purposes, such as animal bedding ;p

  • I just have to have to say... this vid was outstanding! As simple as you made it, it is one of the most helpful vids I've seen in a while thanks

  • @thumper7458 - awesome, thanks man!

  • Great vid! Ill be adding some of that to my apoc table, good thing it isnt near the painting stage yet!
