  • this was one of the best TV shows ever made.

  • "Ye-e-e-e-ess, it's Pete 'n Gladys!"

  • Harry Morgan saved the show! In fact, it was his first of 3 roles he would play in his long career.

  • @brothergaryii - Along with Colonel Potter (M*A*S*H) and Bill Gannon (Dragnet), this is the show that I remember Harry Morgan (RIP) the best from.

  • @brothergaryii - Are you thinking of Bill Gannon (Dragnet) and Colonel Potter (M*A*S*H)? This is my earliest memory of Harry Morgan (RIP), and I forgot how laugh-out-loud funny he could be.

  • I was very young when we watched this show. Wasn't there a talking bassett hound on the show?

  • @Gloriapower - You might be thinking of "The People's Choice" with Jackie Cooper. His character had a basset hound named Cleo, who shared her thoughts with the audience but nobody else.

  • @WSenator1 Thank you.

  • The woman Virginia at 0:58 looks exactly as our modern actress Noelle Beck!

  • at 0:58 isnt the woman Virginia the woman who playes the mother of those nasty children in I love Lucy the amateur hour episode?

  • Thanks for this clip. I wish there were more I wa slooking for Harry Morgan. THS episode is wonderful. The fighting is so realistic. LOL and the memories of some good actors.

  • It's nice to see all the comments. I wish this show was on one of the retro tv channels. God Bless Harry Morgan. So many actors from TV's early days have passed. Sad.

  • In loving memory of Harry Morgan: 1915-2011.

  • Harry Morgan has been there, for many of us, our whole lives. My earliest memory of him was "December Bride".

RIP Mr. Morgan, and thank you.

  • This is when TV shows were entertaining without all the four letter words, In the day, these were the top stars. along with, The Phil Silvers Show, Your Show of Shows, etc. a different era altogether... I was a kid back then...

  • awful show? i loved this show, way back when.

  • R.I.P. HARRY MORGAN YOUR TALENT WILL BE MISSED.<3

  • I love Harry Morgan in this series. RIP.

  • Love this show! I vaguely remember seeing re-runs in the early 60's. RIP Mr. Morgan.

  • Rest in peace, Mr Harry Morgan!

  • Can more episodes of this be put up?

  • I never saw this show, having been born in 1957, but I've heard of it. I do remember "Pete and Gladys" when I was younger. Thanks for posting. I agree that TV Land is a waste along with most of today's broadcasting. About a month or so ago we started to receive METV over the air. I've watched nothing but this channel since it came here. It has a lot of the classic shows.

  • TVLand is missing a great opportunity to increase it's audience considerably by airing some of these 50's shows...baby boomers remember them and miss them! I'm sure these shows would get a large audience of boomers! Come on Marketing get busy!

  • harry morgan is he lone survivor of this cast at this time

  • i just commented to a friend how much i loved this show and several others of the same period... Our Miss Brooks, Ann Southern, Donna Reed, Lucy, of course, and then growing up and discovering that the stars had big movie careers before tv!

  • until a few weeks ago someone had a number of full episodes of december bride on their channel. then it disappeared. perhaps youtube up to it's policing activities as this show may be under license to someone....most likely a dvd company trying to market it.

  • wonderful old show from when tv ment something.

  • poit we have a bunch of guilty pc assholes destroying america

  • poitrenaud i dont know you but i agree with you and some. dont liston to TCall2004 reply to that creeps comments. Who gives a F if SB or anyone was gay thats not the focus on this great tv series. tvland someone ought to reun this, I Married Joan,My little Margie,Love That bob but dont tell TCall2004

  • @tomkes100 You disgusting little scumbag, picking a fight with everyone for anything. Who are you to call anyone a creep? And no one gives a shit about anything you say. I for one am grateful to learn a bit about the great SB's personal life. So eat shit you turd.

  • @tomkes100 As an act of good citizenship it is important that we join together and monitor the behavior of this YT pervert Tomkes. He befriends young men (no evidence of any attempted activity with any minors) and then tries to exploit them. He is a hate monger, with gays his #1 target even though he is himself gay but very closeted and homophobic. If ever given the opportunity I would kick his ass in order to protect the young, but that will never occur because he is able to hide in YT. Beware!

  • TCall2004 this is TOMK first up why bring up dirt like this to defame this great woman and the show. its skum like you ive seen who promote HATE,dont you dare e mail me again. even if its true and you cant believe everything IMDB says it doesnt matter.Get off the crystal methe. Spring Byington and December Bride is Americana. sorry folks for this person bringiing up inimportant s like this. TOMK Oh My god whats next?

  • What a lovely little lady, Spring Byington, and Verna Felton was just wonderful-

That is when America was really a great nation.

  • @poitrenaud - The 1950s were great if you were white, male, Christian and rich.

I would rather NOT have those times back, thank you.

  • @TCall2004 the majority of USA in the '50's were making $85. per week, and the majority of men were not college graduates, nor rich. And, most of them were veterans, and came from Working Class families-

Not as you say, nor as you have been hypnotized to believe.

To use your argument, then, the present state of Vulgar, Ignorant affairs in USA is the fault of ANYONE but White, Christians or Rich-

    ?

    AGREED!!

  • @TCall2004 Don't worry, Tomkes100 is a notorious YT dirtbag. He typically trawls for young male bodybuilders and tries to get an "in" with them. He personifies hate but is probably dementing, is annoying but harmless.

  • @TCall2004 You would rather NOT have those times back? You like your New Nigger Order? You got it- AND you will have to pay for it- I'm In France, and we have our New Muslim Order- See what they do to Lesbians, Homosexuals and anyone who doesn't believe in THEIR view of the world- You think the 1950's in USA was BAD? "YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHIN' YET" American Idiot- You're destroying your own country- Matricidal Morons--and you think we French are assholes!!! The laugh's on YOU Yank
  • @poitrenaud I agree with you about Byinton and Felton. But that's as far as I go.

  • I agree TV land could have been wonderful but they must have a 12 year old Program Director who panders to the unwashed morons whose sophistication level is leveled at the next tired beer and verizon commercial.

  • I LOVE THIS SHOW its the best. TOMKES

  • WHAT A VINTAGE SHOW just great. I just bught the bio on Verna Felton. i love it. TOMKES fim tv historiian

  • JuliaFlo this is TOMKES thanks but youre not telling anything i didnt know. I knew Spring Byington got a letter&autograoh like close to 1000 from the golden age of hollywood. Pete&Gladys all theser great shws are never shown. Nowhere in Ameruca is there a network dedcated to simply old B&W classic tv series. I love DECEMBER BRIDE , the golden Girls of the 50s. To hell with TVLAND theyr are a F, joke in my book. TomkEs tv film historian my interview with Spring from 1967 in on my website

  • December Bride one of golden tv ages comedies with the great Spring Byington. I knew Spring, this tv film historian. i pray to god these classic 5s shows be shown on tv to newer generations. this was a beloved series. Spring and Verna were quite a team. Harry Morgan was funny. what a cast. ah we need more shows like this. ah to be back to the 50s again. God Rest Spring Byington what a classy woman so down to earth. thanks fans. TOMK

  • @tomkes100 This show generated the wonderful spin-off 'Pete And Gladys'.

  • @tomkes100 - Spring Byington, the star of "December Bride" was gay and for years had a "relationship" with Marjorie Main, who played Ma Kettle in the movies.

I just found that out a month ago from The Internet Movie Database.

  • @TCall2004 Any other sources? Or just one.

  • ME I WISH TV LAND WOULD go BACK TO THE WAY IT USED TO BE BACK IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS. MAN I WISH I COULD GO BACK IN TIME BUT I CAN'T SO OH WELL I CAN DREAM INSTEAD.

  • TV Land used to be wonderful at first, but now what I really despise about that channel is, not only did they eliminate their retromercials, but ALL SHOWS now, they completely eliminate the ending themes. That's part of the charm of the show, unfortunately today there's TOO MANY channels that are starting that now.

  • i agree!

  • I've always loved this show. I'm sure it will never be on TV Land. That channel is just dead air. It's hard to believe such awful shows ever existed.

  • It's a great show!

  • I've just uploaded some December Bride on my channel. Have been breaking the episodes down into chapters, so some uploads may be slow.

    Check them out.

  • I always thought TV Land should have aired this long lost gem!

  • Me too, but TV Land is no longer 34 % better than real life. Hasn't been in years.

  • No..TV land shows the andy griffith show 7 times in a row...or so whhhhhhhhhy dont they show more ?

    hmmmm

  • I use to watch December Bie as a little girl, I'm so happy to see it again.

  • Didn't one of them have a crush on Ivor Novello or was it Rudy Vallee?

  • "what's an extra bong or two...we'll love it!"

    my sediments exactly.......

  • that's clever..lol..extra bong or two..lol

  • I loved this show as a kid. It was on in daytime syndication in the early 60's along with I Married Joan.

  • This episode originally aired on January 17, 1955, during the first season. The opening and closing titles are from the syndicated edition of the series, as the originals had General Foods sponsor I.D.'s and logos {Maxwell House} included in them.

  • Verna Felton was adorable & Dean Miller very sexy. It's a shame this series is so obscure. It'd be nice to see MORE of December Bride, & COMPLETE episodes if anyone happens to have them.

You can cast a vote at TV Shows On DVD's website to express an interest in seeing this classic get the DVD release it so richly deserves.

  • "There goes 'ol Vesuvius again!!! (LOL!)

Dean Miller always had a dynamic speaking voice, especially in his later years. He later co-hosted (with big band vocalist Helen O' Connell) "Here's Hollywood" an NBC daytime series, was a news anchor at severeral TV stations in Miami and Detroit in the 1970s and owned WMVR, a small market radio station in Sidney, Ohio. Dean passed away in 2004.

  • omg wow im related to spring byington :O

im jake byington, and shes in my family tree, kinda cool

  • she was an excellent actress. Just delightful and so pretty.

just watched her last week again in "You Can't Take It With You" and "In the Good Old Summertime."

    Take advantage of those genes!
