These were great games, but each game had that point where it became hard as hell. The Holo Holo bird in origins and in the original Giacomo and the other two main bosses you fought at the same time. Really if you could get past those points it was clear sailing.
For some reason, this reminds me of Felix's Battle Theme from Golden Sun: the Lost Age. He probably is indeed reusing the basic song structure, as he does so often (not to say that he isn't original)
Sakuraba seriously needs to come up with some new material. Its been like five songs that sound nearly identical. Its seriously getting stuck in my craw.
@fonarte Maybe he should take a break and work on something else so he doesn't keep regurgitating the same material, also other video game composers manage it. I just think he's being lazy or stretching himself much too thin.
That's because they're made by the same people. I bought this game because I played Eternal Sonata and loved it. This wasn't as good in my opinion, but it was still a fun RPG to play.
I think Baten Kaitos has one of the greatest soundtracks of all time, especially the battle-themes. I loved both games and the only reson I still have my gamecube, is beeing able to play Baten Kaitos 2 again, since it was never released in germany and my freeloader won´t work on my wii...

Hey, Why don't you try and write over 250+ Original Songs A year and get back to me .
It amazes me how little most people really understand how composers work.
And that's right, Sakuraba writes over 250+ songs a year for a ton of video games. He Works nearly 20 Hours a day sitting in his studio.

matoi sakuraba and shoji meguro are two of the greatest videogame composers, imo!

It sounds like something from Eternal Sonata... not sure which song.

Another epic tune! True classic!

I think Eternal Sonata adopted the skeletons of Baten Kaitos music and morphed it into classical peices. In my opinion anyway.

No, you're right. Sakuraba is very talented, but the Eternal Sonata pieces are hardly original (reusing old melodies and such).

Baten Kaitos, both games are amazing. Although I never got far in Origins since my memory card screwed up. I think they were overlooked.

I know what you mean. I'm not done BKO either... but that's because, on Disk 2, this game becomes one of the most difficult RPGs I've ever played.
GarlyleWilds 3 years ago 2
That sounds awesome for me. I can't wait to start playing it again.

I just realized that Motoi Sakuraba also composed for StarOcean 3 Till The End of Time
