Tremendous....I think I am the one who is going to "keel over", the magnificence is simply dizzying....what she is able to bring forth, in both expression and technique is simply off my scale...OMG...
Wonderful video. It is twenty minutes long because the promo video is first played only in French. Then the same videos is played again, at 10:57, but with English subtitles. So if you need the subtitles, skip the first eleven minutes.
OK people, how about the same thing with subtitles? Not everyone's French is that good and having it with subtitles certainly help with the understanding and enjoyment
@otagui1 I was born in Argentina, so I'm american too. Every time I heard someone saying "american" I inmediatly ask "from where? Colombia, Mexico, Brazil?" :o)
A heavy vibrato and more casual technique have become acceptable in the 20th - 21st centuries. It is hard to understand how so mnay people think that this is appropriate for Baroque arias.
This is true, but she is the only singer who can really do the coloratura in pretty much any Baroque piece (that we've heard) without looking like she's goin to kill over. Her Agility is dizzying. It has been said that she has the fastest voice in the world.
I've been on a major Vivaldi opera kick the past few days, and this is kicking it up a few more notches! Wow! I really like Vivica, too. I have seen hert in the house twice, in Los Angeles Opera's Orfeo ed Euridice and as Cenerentola for Opera Carolina in Charlotte. Both times she was fabulous. I hope I get more opportunities to see her live!

Thanks Vivica....for all of it....

Right about the subs, but learning foreign languages won't hurt either.

@otagui1 and not every one speaks french, yet English seems like the universal language for things like these.
Spare me your ethnocentric bullcrap, I am not American by birth, so you can stop making assumptions about myself.

I doubt very seriously if Vivaldi would storm out the room in disgust if he heard Vivica sing his music...so loosen up and enjoy the music.

Wow, recorded in a church of Parma, quite closed to the town where I live, only 30 Km far from home. Yes it must be a very good recital
