i dont think the tantive 4 was destroyed because in episode 6 in the space battle with lando and the nine numb driving the falcon they had the tantive 4. (ormaybe they rebuilt it)

They are called blockade runners. Tantive 4 WAS a blockade runner (tantive 4 was its name - it was princess leias ship). But the Rebel alliance owned tons more of that class of ship. The one you saw in Episode VI was another blockade runner. As Ive said Tantive IV was destroyed soon after its capture. ;(

When i was building this, a opened it, the pieces looked like 2000-3000 pieces!

I totally recommened it. But theres one con. which is that it doesn't come with a fact sheet and it's a ucs set

@legostarwarsgunship No, it isnt a UCS set. There was a UCS version of Tantive IV, which is long since discontinued. This is a newer, slightly smaller set with more features.

@OrionCinemas silly, this type of ship ( called the blockade runner) was used heavily by the rebels. This one was destroyed - the one in ep 6 was another ship...

@OrionCinemas I KNOW! - But, as a fact they all looked the same and I can 100 percent assure you this exact ship WASNT in episode 6. I agree that by just watching the movies you could not be sure if it was tantive IV or not, but if you look at it logically, and possibly look behind the scenes, you'll know it was destroyed.

Funny thing, in Lego Star Wars 2 (videogame) the first level is this ship, and it is as big as a mansion on the inside.

This looks very impressive. It's been years since i built any sort of lego kits. And I think i only ever got two SW ones, the N1 starfighter with Anikin Skywalker and R2D2 back when Episode 1 first came out, and a small pack, but I can't remember what was in it.

It's just a shame all the good high quality kits are so damned expensive. the ATST alone is about 80-90 GBP

The republic cruiser is not the earlier version of the Tantive IV. The original name of the Tantive IV is the corellian Corvette and the republic cruiser is the Radiant VII. The Radiant was buyed by the republic the corvette was buyed by the goverment of Alderaan.

the reason they are similar is simply because they are both manufactured (based On The Expanded universe) By The Corellian Engineering Corporation.They Are Both Correllian Frigates. which tend to have the similar cylindrical engines in multiple rows typicly and a long narrow body.

My friends brother had the original lego tantive IV it was called the rebel blockade runner and it was freaking huge he got it back when it came out and it has actually never been finished by him if you could get a review for that or a comparison that would be awsome.

@hockeyrocks8477 Really, the only thing that makes the Tantive IV diplomatice is the red on it. (Red signifies diplomatic missions) The Tantive IV is a Corellian Corvete class frigate designed to target small fighters or bombers. (Please pardan my spelling)
