I love this movie and the Swedish original but I really didn't see the point in Owen's mask. It seemed a bit to "Alice, Sweet Alice" for my liking. I still loved the movie and Chloe and Kodi were AMAZING.

I made it my duty to see T. Alfredson's film. I even let my Darren Shan obsessed son see it. I know he will probably also see the US version later but Kare and Lina are the only Oskar and Eli for me. The mood, music, editing and direction is true art IMHO. Minimal FX to detract from the story. I am curious to read the book now. This film is a welcome antidote to predictable slasher sex horrors. For me, like District 9, it offers an engaging slant with new unspoiled silicone actors.

@Metal94ish saw the original film and also read the book which is better than the movie. Actually fancy re-reading it as its really good, its hard to read Hakans pedophilia in it but its done in an easy to digest kind of way, and Eli's back story of being castrated was horrifying.

@Metal94ish I've just watched the original version, even if this US version isn't badly done (but I don't know the book however), I've to say that especially that gloomy dark atmosphere of the 1st film is untouchable, unique.

Since you're native of that land, I was curious to know if the vibe of this & other similar things is genuine or a bit of a cliché, because it's indeed peculiar. Ciao ;-)

OH MY GOD thankyou SO much for uploading this I have been looking for it everywhere!

I saw Let The Right One In and loved it and saw this once on DVD and loved it aswell, you can't compare the two in my opinion plus I love Chloe Grace Moretz and I think Kodi Smit-Mcphee was great as Owen. I'm a little bummed out that they changed the names of the kids thought I like Eli and Oskar. I guess they wanted something a litte more American and mainstream. Great movie, again thanks for uplaoding!
