  • Condolences to the Lenz Family, and everybody who knew Peter.

  • Sat in the stands at turn 4 in Indy. Watched the harmless spill, and him sitting on his behind waving his arms - obviously as he had been taught. He stopped waving to get up and moved to the right when he did.

I wondered about kids racing until I watched a video of Peter after a crash in 2009. He seemed to have such passion! Many never have one; which is sadder to me than seeing his dream cut short.

I applaud his parents for allowing for dreams - as costly as they where.

  • God bless you, Peter.

  • Ok thats a Jewish law.... What if your not Jewish? trust me he was a racer him and his family knew the risk. and the comment about attorney... OMG really great just great.... just what we need attorneys looking for a fast buck... GOD I HATE ATTORNEYS. I say Go after the Drug dealers and the gang bangers and leave peter and his family alone....

  • rip from ja.. very sad.

  • R.I.P

    we biker...will be missing u

    from singapore

  • R.I.P :(

  • This boy had great talent! I would NEVER blame the parents for what happened! Different Attorneys are talking about going after the parents! To Peters parents; I would like to shake your hand and say Thank You for raising Peter and for letting him share his talent with the rest of the world! I meet all types of people everyday. I race go-karts, cars, pretty much anything with an engine(motorcycles included!), and I'm a Karate instructor! I do it all plus I'm not that old either! R.I.P. P.Lenz

  • First of all i'm sorry to his family and freinds. For me we cannot blame anybody eventhough the parents for allowed 13 years old boy in this high risk sports cause this is what Peter Lenz want to do in his live,he loved racing and this is racing motorsports and we are already know the risk that we are going to take and right now i'm sure he don't want us to feel so sad eventhough we are sad for being lost of one talented future rider.

  • So long lil hard charger. Looking forward to watching you drop a knee on the big road course in the sky.

  • The poor, although he was only 13 years old, I think of his family and friends who are now certainly very sad,,,

  • This is so sad, I just saw it on the television and it's unbelievable that such a young child with so big talent has had to die. I am truly sorry for the family and him. No regret should be showed because this little kid has done all he has ever loved and that is what counts. Things happen and it's more than sad, it's nothing we can control or change even if we could. Rest in piece and I wish you all the best. - Ellen

  • Always makes me sad to see a fellow racer killed in action, but he was doing what he loved,it's been a sad few weeks with tomizawa killed at the weekend as well, lest we forget fallen racers.

  • R.I.P peter never good to see a rider go down let alone a kid

  • goodbye peter

    rip from germany :(

  • Think of all the things he will never do. He's not gonna fall in love. He will never be a dad. He will not see the renaissance of the world in 2012. He lost his life to riding motorcycles... doesn't matter how much you love doing something, if you knew it was gonna kill you before it happened, you would stop. I guess nobody around this boy knew enough to show him the risk and how quickly we can become part of the statistics. It's better to stop before it's too late. R.I.P. Peter.

  • @JamaicaGold1 - "doesn't matter how much you love doing something, if you knew it was gonna kill you before it happened, you would stop."

    -

Nobody knows when something could kill them. People can't predict that, and many aren't going to sit around wondering nor are they going to let the "what if" stop them. As I said many times before, racers understand this. It's a risk.

  • Comment removed

  • @bankermom5710 Yeah he lived 13 short years under which all he ever did was ride a bike that got him killed. I drive my car all over the country, I like speed, but I ain't crazy enough to encourage my son to ride a bike at 100 miles an hour for the glory of a trophy, lady. If a child needs speed, then take him to six flags or universal studios like normal parents do. Dying on a track is not an achievement.

  • @JamaicaGold1 unbelievable, where do you get the nerve to attack the parents, they are so hurt and you're making these people feel guilty, you have no heart but a block of concrete. ashole !!!!

  • @missmoon40 They're not hurt, they are sorry. And they should feel guilty, after all it is they who signed the permission to allow his son the last ride of his life. I may have a heart of concrete, but at least I have live son who will do much more than win a trophy. There's no win when you try to justify the death of a child. Btw, Rules for motorcross in this division and class should be revised.

  • Comment removed

  • @JamaicaGold1 You blame the parents for letting a child do something he loves? What crack do you fucking jamaican fucks smoke? The fact that he wrecked, and was hit, doesn't justify that its his parents fault. One day you'll realize humans aren't perfect, even the best wreck. Stick to fucking bobsledding faggot.

  • @ironmb86 So far you've been using nothing but profanity to refer to me, has it ever occurred to you that I may be a woman? By any chance do you grasp the seriousness of what happened to Peter? He had two accidents, one, being born to two ignorant parents, and the one that took his life. I am a mother too, my children use this account so I'd suggest you watch your filthy mouth. Enough of this dead-ended discussion. I got children to raise and you got a dead child to mourn to.

  • @JamaicaGold1 Ok slut, go back to bob sledding. You got a long way to go on learning to enjoy something you love doing. Bob sledding stick to it.

  • @JamaicaGold1 - So far, all you deserve is that kind of respect. Zero for you stupid, heartless comments.

  • Comment removed

  • @JamaicaGold1

Peter did MUCH more than ride a bike; Secondly, his parents are not ignorant; and finally, Peter died due to an accident. Look up the word 'accident' in the dictionary... it does not mean 'glory of a trophy' nor does it mean riding '100 miles an hour'; however, YOU are probably too ignorant to understand what an accident is. Sure hope you let your son out of the house on occassion, at least to get some sun; oh that's right, that may not be healthy, his life could be at risk.

  • "Dear Family and Friends, Just wanted to say The ride to the sky was Awsome! I am here looking down seeing the sadness and thinking, Wow, just give me a bike and let me do my stuff, right Dad. My Parents helped me, supported me, and gave up alot for me to have what it took to compete and work my way up as i did. Dont fear the images you see as when I met my maker with firesuit and gear, There was no pain, No worries,Ridin 45 Forever!

** Thats what Peter would say** Love, an Indiana Mom

  • @lorigo20

yes he loved motorcycle racing, but maybe he would have loved graduating from high school, his first date, his first beer

i dont agree with what his parents did, i am sure they had the best intentions, you know like maybe it was the father in the prodical son who just kept on giving

but in the end what you have is a young boy broken and bleeding on the pavement

be sentimental, write pseudo letters, in the end for this family there is nothing left but pain, regret suffering

  • @trojanspaghetti

First of all, Thank you for expressing you thoughts without being hateful and yes, when you see how Graphic this accident was it is hard to look past that he was only 13 years old. A beautiful young man who will never get to experience the many things we all take for granted. I dont agree with judging anyone, or getting involved in the "what if" theory. Fact is, To compete is to give your very all,Go out on a limb, push your limits. To be a Champion at any age is sacrifice.

  • my thoughts are with everyone aNd Peter Lenz, and this tragedy took place not too long after i had prepared a message on why i am not a fan of certain activities which includes vehicle racing, i like many have been sad about this, take Good Care of yourselves everyone in everything you do, aNd everywhere you go, aNd may God's Good Care be with each of you, and thank you fuersturm for posting this

  • RIP Peter., and fellow rider.. I was there in the stands at Indy when you passed, and my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I only hope this does not stop others from chasing thier dreams. You did what you loved, and were one of the few who actually got a chance to do it in your short life here on earth. And you were one of the greats in what you did. Huge loss for the family and racing world.

  • Very sad time for his family & motor racing ,accidents do happen from all bike fans in the uk please accept our condolences

  • HERE WE GO! I think this is a beautiful video dedicated to Peter. I have seen articles and videos throughout the country stating that he was too young to be doing this! I have only one question! Where were these people before the crash? I even saw a video on FOX NEWS saying they should go after the parents for neglect! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! They didn't force him out there! This boy loved what he did! I race as well, and I accept the risks involved! R.I.P. Peter you will be missed so much!

HE WAS AN AWESOME RIDER AND 99% OF CURRENT GP RIDERS START WHEN THEY ARE YOUNGER THAT PETER, HE WOULD OF BEEN A GREAT IF IT WASNT FOR A FREAK ACCIDENT. REST IN PEACE. AND FUCK ANYONE THATS GOT A DUMB FUCK NONSENSE COMMENT TO SAY.

  • 13 year olds are little kids, they arent designed to race 500cc bikes at 300mph,

  • WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME OF YOU PEOPLE? THIS IS NOT THE TIME OR PLACE TO BASH ANYONE MUCHLESS AT THE PRICE OF PETER OR HIS PARENTS! NON RACERS WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THE LIFE AND WAYS OF A RACER..... THERE THO'S WHO RACE AND THO'S WHO DON'T AND WISH THEY DID,,,, GOD PEOPLE ARE SO MEAN AND NASTY IT MAKES ME SICK..... GOD SPEED PETER WITH RESPECT YOUR A CHILD OF GOD FORGIVE THE HATERS.

  • @mx1417 A child may, indeed, be trained to ride a bike at high speeds, but his reasoning faculties are not yet fully developed at the age of 13. This is the reason that, in Jewish law, a child is not fully held accountable for his actions until he reaches the age of 20. If fully grown men are prone to accidents, how much more then are children prone to accidents! If this can save some young life in the future, by G-d it was worth writing it!

  • And his parents? he was too young for this extreme sport.

  • Just look at the pics. This kid was doing something he loved. How many of us will leave this life doing something we love vs. lying in bed alone in the dark? Rest In Peace Peter.

  • This strikes me hard cause I love racing and the boy was just a year younger than me the day he died.

  • So sad... R.I.P.

  • if anyone can afford to donate to the family then do it.if you can only imagine the cost of peters accident and the trip home and his funeral. his family has much to deal with. racers especially should try to help. i was in a racing accident when i was 14 i was critically injured, i was lucky but my parents pretty much went broke. peter i am not much of a believer but for you i hope you give them hell, what an awesome guy.

  • Rest in Peace Peter.

  • R.I.P. :(

  • D.E.P

  • this kid did more than we aever dreamed (fans of motorcycle) is sad when they depart so young... we lost 2 young riders in 2 GP ... is sad ... R.I.P

  • @IKurtC Motorcycle racing is a relic of the last century. Or at least it should be.

  • @doox420 you are right mate

  • @IKurtC you say he did he do more than we dreamed of. just cuz he rode a motorcylce real fast how did he do more than we dreamed of? there are little kids out there who do a lot playing real sports like baseball. travelling playing a team sport is doing a lot not trying to be a speed demon.

  • @redcapsnmacs well ... maybe you didn't understood what i meant... but i understand why you answered like that.. i reckon is not right to keep with this, in a memorial video... anyway thanks for the answer cheers mate

  • Many of us never get the opportunity to live our dreams, you not only lived it you inspired it. You will be missed.

  • Peter i will miss you at the vegas track. Rest in peace little man we miss you and love you.

  • ciao angioletto, non ti dimenticheremo mai

  • This is not the time to be criticizing the parents......I'm sure they would trade racing to have their son back.....unless you are in an IDENTICAL situation you have no room to talk! He LOVED what he did, plenty of children die never experiencing anything near that.

  • @sonik954 You're on the right track there. They SHOULD have traded racing to save their son. But, unfortunately, it's too late now. Let's do what we can to make sure other idiotic parents can't sacrifice their children's lives to this asinine pursuit. My point of view is unpopular with the majority of gearheads here, but that's not really surprising.

  • @circushead does your comment make you feel good inside? These people have lost their son and you feel an obligation to make them feel worse? I enjoy motogp, I'm not what you refer to as a gear head, but this boy had a passion and he probably got more out of his 13yrs on earth than you will in you entire life. Your a very sad and unfortunate human being mate!

  • @circushead so what you say is that many kids die travelling in car on main roads, hence we wil stop going in cars??????????God!!!!When the time comes, no one can stop! That is 'Karma'. This was his fate! Dont blame the parents. They supported him to the fullest to make him what HE wanted to be...Number 1!

  • Comment removed

  • so sad :-(

  • Risk vs. reward.....Rossi earns $35 million a year.....I would not risk my child's life even if the pay-off was $100 million a year.....for me, my child's life is invaluable......but for some parents, the risk is worth it....to each his own......

  • @visigothvisigoth Peter's parents smelled cash. Big money. Now they have a dead son. Lesson learned? Maybe.

  • @circushead Yes of course it was about the big money....

  • @visigothvisigoth But you can't just say "to each his own" when such an odious moral transgression has occurred. A parent who lets his child go out and do that in hopes of a big money payoff is reprehensible. A child's life is a sacred trust, not something to be thrown on the craps table.

  • There is an imperative command in the Bible (KJV Deut. 4:15): "Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves.” The verse, however, in its original Hebrew (= ונשמרתם מאד לנפשתיכם) has the connotation of being VERY CAREFUL with our souls, or with our lives, and not to place ourselves in unnecessary dangers. Although in its biblical context, the verse speaks about spiritual corruption, it also would imply any physical danger.

Let this be a reminder to all parents that it’s dangerous.

  • @Dovid2000 - Again, parents and racers that participate in this form of competition don't need to be reminded there is a danger. They already know this and they accept it. I persuade many of you to go talk to racers or do some research and ask them about this. There are many videos, etc where they are completely honest about knowing they will eventually go down. Almost 100% of the time, they get back up and continue racing. I respect them for that.

  • @dasafrew you are correct. But don't you think that when it comes to a child that more consideration should be given? If an adult wants to do something that is risky/dangerous it's up to them. But a child thinks they are invincible. All they think about is how much fun it is and how good they are. It's up to the parent to protect them and make decisions that are in their best interest. I'm not opposed to racing, I just question children racing at over speeds of 100mph.

  • @MultiTheatregeek - This "child" knew what he was doing. He had crashed before and he got back on because he loved it. Again, I have already answered all these questions. A majority of the top pro motorcycle racers out there started riding a motorcycle at the age of 5-6. Other kids were playing soccer, b-ball, whatever. These guys weren't. Deaths in this sport are not a common occurrence like man of you think.

  • @MultiTheatregeek Your argument is sane and sound, but unfortunately the man you're talking to is impervious to it.

  • @MultiTheatregeek Thanks for your post. I could never have said it better! Your words are well-taken!

  • @dasafrew Parents who allow their children to risk their lives before those children have reached adulthood, the age of emancipation, deserve only contempt.

Dasafrew is a man who needs prepubescent children to risk and lose their lives in order to feel macho. That said, I use the word 'man' in connection with him very loosely.

  • @circushead - Hey dumbass, you keep saying the same crap. Give it up, bible thumper. I owned you in this discussion as did everyone else that disagreed with you. You dodged every question like a bullet and continue too. Have a nice night.

  • @dasafrew Hmmm...not sure what my being a "bible thumper" has to do with anything. Do you hate Christians as much as you hate life? Wouldn't doubt it. I'm a Roman Catholic, by the way, and judging by Peter Lenz's funeral arrangements, so was he. Go figure.

  • @circushead - That is your problem. You being a bible thumper has everything to do with your train of thought and all of your comments. You can't break out of the bubble you live in. I live and love life to the fullest as do racers. You should try it sometime instead of spewing your religious bullshit to those that don't want to live the way you do. By the way, I'm a Christian dipshit. Two things in live you should never use for an argument and leverage. Religion and politics son.

  • @dasafrew So, why'd you call me a "bible thumper". I never said word one about God or the Bible in relation to this story. Why'd YOU bring it up.

You wrote, "I'm a Christian dipshit".

I can't argue with you there, man.

  • @circushead - If you can't figure it out, I can't help you. Nor can anyone else that has posted their hatred for you pathetic comments. Do the World a favor and go find some friends that share your same views. Then, lock yourselves in a room together and keep it to yourself.

  • @circushead

I am a Catholic, sorry to say you are a Jerk- go get a refund on your confimation.

  • @dasafrew Children need guidance from their parents. They need to be told what is prudent and what is not when they are of a tender age and cannot make these calls. Peter Lenz was very unlucky in the parents he drew from the lot of fate.

  • @Dovid2000

look at the first chapter of genisis- there are two different creation accounts that contradict each other- obvioulsy, while the Bible is inspirted it is a waste of time to take it literally or as a singular source of instruction

a father does not give his son a stone when he asks for bread

  • @crzilla I have heard regarding the two creation accounts that the first one is a general overview, while the second one is a detailed description of the first account. Anyone looking closely and diacritically at these will see that they do NOT contradict each other. So, I refute the statement that you cannot use the Bible as a single source of instruction.

  • @Dovid2000

Diacritically is another term for 'liar' obvioulsy.

Look jerk, go talk to your friend Fred Phelps and leave the humans alone.

  • @crzilla If rudeness is a sign of ignoble birth, then high-born people must, by necessity, be good mannered in their daily discourse and conversation with others. I don't think I've ever come across a person in this life who has been more impudent than you.

I am Jewish, and I live in Israel. We have an old proverb that says:

"Decorum came before the giving of the Law."

(By "decorum" is meant good manners.)

    דרך ארץ קדמה לתורה.

    (ויקרא רבה ט:ג')

  • @Dovid2000

You are an arrogant ignorant snob to come onto a memorial thread for a boy who was killed and to speak your haughty garbage.

You piece of crap- you come here because you know know one will go to you,

Go ahead, stupid, post a video if you think anyone wants to listen to your stupid trash.

  • While doing net searches for Peter, I came across someone who said, "while the other riders were trying to figure out how to get low enough in corners that their knees scraped the asphalt, Peter was already riding low enough to be making contact with his elbow".(paraphrased) He's was a little Superman! I send my condolences to his parents and to Xavier and his family.

  • Kids start sports and a young age. All shapes and sizes and all forms of sports. Some are more dangerous than others. Sports in addition to this one have had more deaths, tragedies and accidents. Because some of you know this is a fast and dangerous sport, doesn't mean you know what it's all about. There is a risk regardless of age. The same accident could happen at an older age. Wouldn't change a thing. Just because you know it's risky, doesn't mean it''s wrong for others. It's that simple.

  • @dasafrew, You can't compare other sports to racing.Of course they have had more deaths in football because thousands more play it then race bikes. You need to compare the level of danger In playing any sport, ask what is the level of risk and the chance that one might die. Anyone with common sense knows there's more chance of death riding a bide at 100 mph then playing football.Yes it can happen to any age,but it should't be happening to kids because they shouldn't be racing at those speeds.

  • @MultiTheatregeek - You just proved my point. Yes I can compare it and I responded to the exact same comment circusdope made that you just did. It's acceptable to you that kids die in other sports because more kids play it. That makes zero sense at all. And again, your biggest issue is that it's fast and dangerous which proves my other point. THEY KNOW THIS!!!

  • @dasafrew It's pointless to argue with these morons. They are the same people who probably complained when Elliot Sadler crashed at Pocono when he hit the inside pit wall that was sticking out. That thing has been there since the track was built and no one has said a thing about it for all these years and now that Elliot hit it everyone wants to condim the track. Where were these idiots on their soapboxes before Peter had his accident?

  • @openwheelonly - I hear ya man. It must suck to live such a shallow and closed life.

  • bullying people? The only ones bullying people are those leaving pathetic comments on here geared at the family. Step back and think about it for a minute.

  • How little you know about me openwheelonly. Live in a protective bubble? I'm a FAN of racing...cars AND motorcyles and have family members that race. But they're not 13 year old children. They are adults who KNOW the risks and choose to take those risks. So perhaps you should try another comeback as the first one really held no water. LOL

  • And to those writing the comments about him "riding in heaven" etc, please, get real. The boy is dead. He won't graduate from school, won't marry, won't have children. His life is over at 13 and #45 isn't in heaven...it's parked in a garage somewhere. Open your eyes people and pray that this never happens to another child.

  • @MultiTheatregeek WE can only hope it happens to idiots like you who only want to criticize people outside your little protective bubble who live life, not just exist!!

  • @openwheelonly openwheelonly shows his true colours here, wishing death upon somebody who dares disagree with his views on child sacrifice. What an indefensible turd openwheelonly is.

  • @MultiTheatregeek Great post. How about this. Call for a ban of child racers.

  • What a beautiful child, my heart is breaking. So talented and so much of his life ahead of him that he'll never get to experience. It's so sad that his parents couldn't use common sense and not allow him to race bikes at speeds of over 100MPH until he was older. I feel bad for them and know they must be devastated over the loss of their son, but I'm sure that they are questioning their decision now, as they should be.

  • @MultiTheatregeek So your saying it would have not been so tragic if he was; say 16 or 18. Get a life. You make it sound like he was forced onto this bike to race for his parents self pleasure. Go watch the video of him when he talks about how he can't imagine life without racing motor cycles. He truely loved what he did. He lived more in his 13 years than most of us will in our life time. He knew the risk. He went through a years recovery from a privious accident and couldn't wait to race again

  • @openwheelonly No, it wouldn't have been as tragic had he been an adult! He wasn't forced into racing and of course he loved it...what KID wouldn't? But just because he loved it doesn't mean he should have been DOING it. So he loved it huh? And it's your belief that just because he "loved it" it was worth his life? That dying at 13 is okay simply cause he loved riding for 8 years? Please, I think I'm going to puke.

  • @MultiTheatregeek - Everything I said to circushead below also applies to you. I thought I got rid of that heatless puke and now you chime in with the exact same comments. Go find somewhere else to post.

  • @dasafrew you own this forum huh? Simply because someone disagrees? Give me a break. How about posting something INTELLIGENT to dispute my view instead of bullshit dribble. Oh that's right, you're not capable of that are you? You simply think you can bully people.

  • @MultiTheatregeek - no not because someone simply disagrees. Disagreeing is one thing. Making sick comments and showing complete disrespect is another. Calling family members murderers and those that have a passion for racing pathetic, etc. I've posted countless intelligent comments on this topic geared at those that lack tact. Go back and read them. I proved my point, called those out and they failed to answer my questions. Now let it be.

  • @dasafrew I agree with you. Anyone who calls anyone a murderer in this situation is completely pathetic. And I never did any such thing. I never said anything about anyone who has a passion for racing as I myself are one of those people. The only thing that I said that in ANY way could be considered negative is that his parents are probably regretting their decision which any parent would be. I'm not being critical, just questioning the decision to allow a 13 yr old to compete at that level

  • @MultiTheatregeek So you ARE being critical. And rightly so. His parents let him die because they smelled money.

  • @MultiTheatregeek openwheelonly and his pal dasafrew are truly puke inducing human beings. Remarkable specimens they are. They rejoice in the senseless death of a child only because it validates their skewed view of life.

  • @circushead you are a Jackass! Peter was a family Friend and you guys posting this crap is only dishonoring his memory! Just Stop!

  • I wish him well and his family!! people who dont ride will never understand the true passion of riding a motorcycle. and the risk we take !! and for the ones who do ride and have negative feedback , your just a wannabe LOL

  • @circushead if it don't apply mind your business. Peter's fans or family don't need no negative comments.you need attention please get that from your momma. people don't have time for people like you get a life. accidents happen. He was trained he wasn't just put on a track . Did you hear he was good as rossi, hayden and the rest of them. there's not to many young men that have talent like peter. let his family and friend remember his life. instead of talking trash.
