  • I really think that these episode should have more views than it does now. It would be awesome to see a "Hogan's Heroes" series but perhaps set in today's time period.

  • @gurufreeiz I agree! Though they certainly don't make 'em like they used to >:(

  • 2:35 when i heard that line the first time i had to stop the video and laughed until i cried and couldn't lay on my left side for three days, best line ever written...anywhere!

  • Hey! Its the spy from the first episode!!

  • @jtofspades I KNOW!!!! Love his mustache here!

  • I wonder what the krauts think of this show and if they show it in Germany. I have all the episodes on DVD they are not expensive.

  • @theintelligent1973 I was stationed in Germany for 2 years. The show is played there more than in the U.S.

(BTW when the germans say "heil hitler" in Germany they say "how high is your corn") in german it sounds close to heil hitler

  • @Rick6315 - "How high is your corn" would translate to "Wie hoch ist dein Getreide?" which sound nothing like the 3rd reich greeting formula. It might however provoke the answer "so hoch" - "that high", possibly accompanied by a gesture indicating it's height.

    Greetings

BTW: I'm Austrian and I've loved this show since I when was about 12 years old.

  • @guitarsquiddy sorry, I meant its height. Silly mistake to make really

  • @guitarsquiddy not speaking German this is just what I was told ,though referring to the 3 reich or Hitler in any form is legally frowned upon in Germany,so it makes since they would say something silly.

    Thanks for the translation

  • @Rick6315 It's more like a joke about Nazis, not reminiscence or anything. Another version is:"How high can a german shepherd jump" - "about yay high". They're not particularly good jokes, but it's a means to ridicule racism and bigotry of any sort, so it's probably a start. It takes their invincibility away, and maybe next time we'll be able to fight them earlier.

  • Just the basic concept of this show, and its popularity is incredible. Really, why can't today's shows even come close to this type of show?

  • It is a little bit confusing, how different thegerman version is....

The german name of this TV show tranlated directly into english is "A cage full of heroes". General Burkhalters voice is quite similiar to his english voice.

Newkirk in german has spelling problems... Well, it is a little bit more funnier synchronized in german

  • @kaylakimms what audio problems?

  • thanks for posting these. :)

  • Has anyone else noticed that captain Hurber is the same actor who was in the first episode playing that spy who tried to fool hogan and the gang.

  • @dexter83uk Yep, there were a lot of different actors who later became quite famous who had recurring roles, though as different characters, on the show. Gavin McLeoud (sp?) who later became Captain Stubing on the Love Boat and was on the Mary Tyler Moore Show played a variety of German officers, also William Christopher who played Fr. Mulcahey on MASH was a recurring guest star. The list goes on and on, but it was not unusual to see a character on one episode return as another later on.

  • Thank you for allowing us to view these. Truly appreciative!!

  • thanks for the great vids!!!

  • @flipside1545 You're welcome!!! Thanks for watching!!! :)
