  • Difficult to choose music? - TRY HARDER!! Lose this garbage.

  • "did everything astaire did backward & in heels" . beautiful woman. right wing nut but nobody's perfect.

  • this music is completely out of place with the pre code time period. Seems like you could've found an appropriate tune from at least within 20 years of 1931.

  • @learningrichard

I have to agree completely. The music is a real distraction. I could not like that song under any pretenses. Something more romantic, flowing or traditional, please. On the other hand... thanks for posting pictures of Ginger Rodgers. I think she is a terrific actress, forgotten or never given credit for her comic appeal and diversity. And I have never even seen her dance. I think she is supreme.

  • Pre-Fred Ginger.

  • This so called music sucks..hurts the ears too.

  • I hate this period in film history. Exclusion and oppression of all ethnic minorities.

  • @Microglia1 Isn't that just this period of history in general? I'm a 'minority' but I still love the films from this era. I don't know, I don't really like thinking about things in terms of race. People are people.

  • @beeje Amen, my friend

  • @Microglia1 The rest of America wasn't exactly a playground for minorities during the '30s. It can be problematic to see all these old movies with almost entirely white casts, sure, but society overall was pretty problematic.

  • @Microglia1

It was a better period than today's movies, which foster hatred of God, America, the family, and the white, Christian, American male.

  • @Microglia1 not exclusion but stereotyping in most cases but there were some noble exceptions

  • @Microglia1 Get real! Things got far worse after May 1934 with the enforcement of the Production Code. Pre code movies rock (watch 1933's "Babyface" and rethink your opinion...).

  • @Microglia1 Not all.

  • I have a great fondness for Ginger Rogers...and, I've never seen her with Astaire. She's pretty and a very good comedienne...

  • The music DOES blow, but if whomever made this likes it, than I suppose that's their perogative and it isn't really our place to say otherwise.

  • sic is okay bu the video was dull

    .

Unfortunately I don't know where any of these pictures came from. They could just as easily been from Code movies

    .

  • Ginger, unfortunately, would not have liked the music. Fortunately she will not hear it, so go ahead and play whatever you like. Approving comments? Well, that is one way to have everyone seem to agree with you.

  • @Pantages98382 I did that for the people getting way to angry over a song. I don't know how you know exactly what Ginger would and would not have liked, esp since this was written after her death. People are acting like it's disrespectful to use music that isn't from the goddamn 40s. I love classics, I do. But I also like new music. It doesn't ALL suck. I used to shun new music, fashion, etc. But then I realized I was just as bad as people who dismissed old stuff b/c it was old.

  • @beeje Actually I had the opportunity to meet her many years ago and got a feel for what she liked and disliked. She was rather old fashioned and highly disapproved of the Turner Co. colorizing her old movies. However, as I said, she is no longer around and people are free to enjoy her image as they wish. I found the music rather jarring, as I was looking for (and thought this might be) her routine from Upper World called "Shake Your Powder Puff." Thanks for your response.

  • @Pantages98382 Did you find the routine? I know it's on yt somewhere. I don't like colorizing either b/c it looks unnatural. Yeah she seems like she could have been that way, but I thought, music-wise, she only disapproved of things getting cruder. Though I wouldn't really know. I didn't really have her opinion in mind when I chose it. She just seemed tough and sassy in her pre code movies and this song is sort of tough and sassy.

  • @Pantages98382 But I don't mind people disagreeing with me, I just don't know why some people think they're entitled to be rude about their disagreements.

  • I never noticed it before, but Ginger looks alot like Una Merkel!

  • Awesome fucking music, actually.

  • Great video!

As for the people complaining about the music...think outside the box now and then.

  • i like the music... its very interesting and naught... AND SEXY. just like Ginger!

  • i love this song! it is awesome! who sings it?????????

  • SONG SUCKS!!! haha no im jk, calm down people just enjoy the vid.

  • Very Nice!

  • Great pix but the musci doesnt really fit yes i understand we all have our tastes but you can't change the era and type of person Ginger Rogers was. This music is ok but not for her.

  • okay so this song is awesome and people need to stfu and appreciate a groovy tribute to the badass that is ginger rogers. i find this song ridiculously fitting for the vivacious lady.

    stunning photographs btw

  • @TheTedgale I'm REALLY tired of people with no imagination commenting on my videos, people who think something has to 'already fit' to be done.

  • weirdly enough, I think this song really fits Ginger Rogers, I always thought there was something modern and naughty about her.

  • @beniciosgirl That's what I was thinking!! No one seemed to understand

  • the "new" music with the "old" clips does give it some flavor.

    It's growing on me.

    great job. beeje.

  • I agree the music sucks, in the amount of sucking done by Siouxie and the Banshees.

  • should've picked a song from the era, or a ginger rodgers movie. cool pics tho

  • great pics SHITE 'MUSIC'!!

  • @cosycleaner Are you the type of person who only likes old fashioned music, or do you hate on indie artists? Or both? I know I have a few vids with of the times music, but I mostly use contemporary songs. And not as well known generally.

  • Imo,this music doesn't suit Ginger

  • I am a huge fan of Ginger Rogers. A point worth making is that all of these images are from work she did before she teamed up with Fred Astaire to do their 10 immortal dancing musicals.

Also, "We're In The Money" is still used for the National Public Radio show "Marketplace." Which is easier to understand: Ginger's pig Latin or Wall Street's lingo?

  • @ALensman Haha. "We're In the Money" has sexual undertones in the lyrics as well, for example "we've got a lot of what it takes to get along." I wonder if the Wall Street lingo tries to do that.

  • Maybe so. But I feel whatever Wall St. lingo tries to do, their bottom lines aren't nearly as interesting as Ginger"s.

  • what is the song?

  • @pentipchew I replied to this farther down, but it's The Garden by Mirah.

  • You know what sucks, if any of these great actresses of back then were to try and make it today, they wouldnt even be given a 2nd glance. No wonder many the the entertainers of today SUCK, today ppl prefer fake beauty over natural beauty and great talent!

  • @CubicalGirl I think reality TV ruined things. It gives people the idea that anyone can be famous and 'acting' for just living out some messed up life. Thus they think that equates to talent. NO. Just... no.

  • What's :49 from?

  • @razjk Professional Sweetheart.

  • this song is awesome! What is it?

  • @thecurlsofrage It's called The Garden by Mirah

  • Great photos...Where did you find so many? Nice tribute.

  • Most are screen shots from her movies that I found online or took myself, and some are actual movie stills from online.

    Thank you!

  • Stunning in every way!,, purrrfect again!

    I love it!

    5* +

  • Great job

  • Nice video, Lauren!

    5 stars!

  • Wonderful video, with lots of great pictures! ;)

  • Lovely jubbly Beeje, you've done a great job (once again) on pre-code Ginger - 10/10.

  • =D AWESOME =D

  • great video

    question? what are pre-code films?

  • Those are the films made before the Hays Code took effect. They are generally the films made up through 1934.

  • oh cool thanks

  • Wonderful! Great images and your choice of music is perfect.

    5*****

  • The music seems PERFECT for pre-code Ginger!!! I think it's another great video with that new program. I like it a lot!!! : )

  • EXCELLENT!!! The music -- perfect for pre-code Ginger and her sassy days. Great clips and I see you included some just for me. :

    Rating: on a scale of 1-5, I give it a 10!!!
