  • i just farted

  • Who would buy number 5 first?

  • i am 13 next week and i am going to start collecting manga! cant wait since i got really hooked on anime in the past few months and now i really want to read manga!

  • I can't seem to find many Japanese versions of manga I have been looking for. Including all works by key (no English publication to begin with) so where do you find all yours? And where did you learn to read Japanese? I'm trying but it's too hard for me to read... I'm better at speaking.

  • This video isn't really telling you how to save money but, on how to not waste money. Still cool video :)

  • I bought alot of man gas in anime conventions, they get cheap since some sellers have to make a clearance so yay!

  • When you need to get money off everything you buy then you cannot usuallly afford expensive purchases but I do and my channel shows how you can too.

  • online scans of manga will save you a lot of money, only buy manga of series your truely love

  • save these books for your children.

  • Great vid do u have soul eater?

  • What's the name of the telephone style book for girls you held up?

  • i think if you went on this video just to dis it ur the one with no life - i understood it all and thankyou for ur advise! lpease keep posting and dont let certain tossers stop you :)

  • i th

  • have you read the tsubasa reservoir series? i really enjoy it so far, although im waiting to buy the 6th manga. thanks for ur tips:)

  • Nice collection and tips ;). Im buing a lot cheaper on internet store. recently i have buy Ranma 1/2 Vol 1-17 for 45-50$

BTW. i hate mangas like "Love hina". Why the hell, some smart guy behave like some loser? WTH? Have he not see girls!?! -_-

  • @tokirocket can i ask ur opinion? i'm 14 and recently began collecting, because i'm finally running into some real money. so for a 14 yr old is this good?: 86 graphic novels, 29 american shonen jump magazines, 2 japanese shonen jumps, and about 13 figures. is this a good start?

  • have u heard of baka to test to shokanju

  • @wiikid41 I love that one <3

  • hard to see if u like a manga? umm have you heard of mangafox?

  • I wanted to start collecting the original manga in japanese but i dont no where i can order any. Does anyone no where i can get them???

  • where do you buy the nakayoshi magazine?

  • this vid is sssssssoooooooo helpful ive been collecting 4 two years and have 84 manga how many do you have

  • where did you get uresei yatsura

  • Just buy them used!!! i get some for 2 dollars and they are like new

  • how much many spend you in Manga ?

or better how many manga have you ?

  • Thats so true.. I used to buy random volumes all the timee and get the whole series, but it turns out the random volume really sucks..

  • @MulticolouredMoogle I think the work you are looking for is "tankobon" And they aren't "just fan-fiction" Tankobon refers to (in the manga industry) any book. Look it up if you don't believe me lol :P

  • @4039cameron I meant to say doujinshi... Oops... DX

  • I liked this. very informative.

  • is it like COMPLETELY japenese?

  • You can also read online to see if you like a series or not.

  • You are really sensible. I think the same way you do. My mum brought me the first book of Chobits to see if I'd like it, and I was pretty convinced it was my thing. So instead of buying book 2, 3, 4, etc, I just brought the first omnibus. And when the second Omnibus comes out next month, I'll get that. But I won't be tempted to buy all the individual books, 'cause that'll just be wasting money.

  • please make more videos. this is so helpful...

  • Manga is lame.

  • It's better to flip through/read a few pages of the manga before buying it.

  • Rainbow hairclip thingy ^_^ sooo cute!!!

  • Once my mom got my the last volume in a really long series as a gift. It was really bad and I have to fight the urge to be OCD and buy all the other ones, it's just SO annoying having the one there out of place

  • I have a volume of Tokyo Mew Mew (#6) and smack in the middle of an important scene, there is a printing error. Meaning that one page is Tokyo Mew Mew and the next few pages are a COMPLETELY different manga-one about King Phelios and a knight and stuff- and then the rest of the volume is back to normal! But I missed a critical scene...

I was wondering if it was a mistake in only the copy I bought, and how could the creator make a mistake like that?

  • @apatheticCarochii wow that must be a huge printing mistake! maybe you can return it or send an email to tokyopop about it?

  • hint - hope it helps- you can read manga online at mangafox.com thats were i would read the first book save you a little more money.

  • @AnimeCosplayFox Your can also read manga at animefreak.tv , yeah i think your right P;

  • @AnimeCosplayFox i would also borrow some of the first volumes at the library ^.^

  • How did you learn Japanese so well? Right now I'm using this website called yesjapan_com. So far I could count and do Japanese pronunciation

  • so mangas are foreign comics or only japanese comics

  • guess wh i went to f.y.e and got mangas for 2.00 oh my g*d!!!

  • I love sailor moon so much but i can't find the film comics anywhere!! Does anybody know where i can buy or order one????

  • i like how the only shelf that's organized is your manga shelf XDDD

  • wow how do you know how to translate the japanese manga books it cool

  • do you know where i can get manga cheap but not online

  • I love manga's i'm new and i have none.

So thanks for the video im gonna start a collection.

  • I am SOOO Happy! that even an adult like anime! I showed this to my mom cause she didn't belive me but now she does and I have SAVED ALOT OF MONEY

  • I notice a lot more girls than guys that r into manga. Girls read more in general anyway i guess

  • The way I try to find books that seems interesting is by reading it in the bookstore before buying it.

  • I wanna start collecting manga preferably english versions (cos i'm collecting mainly for entertainment rather than for money) but the only store where I live only sells Naruto 1-20 bleach 1-10 death note 1-5 and a whole bunch of terrible mangas and most are the 5th or 4th volume, so can anyone tell me a fairly cheap, safe website i can buy them from thnx =)

  • Archonia is a great website O: and safe also. Ships into Europe. Outside Europe I'm not sure.

Prices are okay, I should buy more than 3 at a time because of the shipping costs.

  • thanks that website is like £2 cheaper than my store with a lot more on it thanks =)

  • @Dragon468 I would suggest Barnes and Noble or Best Buy. I know that I've bought anime/manga from their websites before for some fairly good prices, and also if you check out Barnes and Noble you'll see that you get free shipping as long as you spend 25 dollars or more. That is, the U.S website has that. It all depends what the stock is though, of course, so you could always check ebay, but keep in mind, it's always good to read the reviews with online products.

  • @Anime4yababyxx thanks i'll make sure to check them out =)

  • another way to save money is if u dont like the manga u can always sell it on ebay as well n get money for it n use the money to buy another manga that u would like to have

  • *O* iluv Shugo chara and Kamichama Karin I have the frist 8 manga of Shugo chara ^-^

  • Lmao thats wat i did I @ 2:05

  • i wuv manja!

  • @uchihaitachi121212 Lmao u mean manga

  • i know, i just prefer to say manja sometimes

  • ^-^ oh okay

  • this was relly helpful for me:) most of the series in my manga collection are broken(like i would have vol. 2,3,4,7,8...)And i would always freak out about how theyre incomplete, how would i be able to get the missing volumes, and how to save money and stuff like that xD anyways, thank you! :DDD

  • awesome collection and vid 5/5 :)

  • can you read japanese :O?

  • Ok quick question is it worth it to get a hardback of a manga even if its +$6? I've been wanting to get the FMA manga but I've been stuck on getting either the hardback or paperback and it's only the first volume that can be hardback.........GAH xD

  • lots of manga costs like $10, so i think that would be a good deal.

  • a good way to save money is if you dont know if u will like a manga or not, see if you can read it online and then buy the first one. that and go during sales :)

  • what really annoys me is the fact that i dont have money and manga chews it all up im 13 and have to take the train to get to my closest manga store and only have like 20 books D:

btw lol your tamagotchi is crying :L

  • Haha its just called common sense...sure you first get 1 and 2....XD

  • PinkOwl: Nope. I meant, if you got to a bookstore and they only have other volumes in stock (but not the first couple) you should sometimes wait until you can find the first two. An exception to this would be if it's a very rare, out of print, or hard to find series, then by all means get what you can fine.

  • @tokirocket Did they release Shugo Chara volume 1 special edition in english?

  • @tokirocket Hey, do you know when Cage of Eden is coming out in an English version manga?

  • @tomsmith100 it was released in august, vol 2 is going to be released in october and the 3rd one is going to be released in december. ;D

  • I'm 13 years old right now! :D

I started collecting last year when my mum brought me home a few manga from a book sale :D I haven't really collected that many manga yet but your videos have heaps me :D Thanks you so much!

  • i was 11 when i started collecting my aunt bought me my first manga naruto vol 4......thus taking me to my journey as an otaku.....

  • How do you find all of the japanese manga without going onto internet sites?

  • this sucks. im 13 and i have about 70 or so manga, and my mom just chewed me out for buying them and all their USELESSNESS! im so sick of my parents being that way. i LIKE manga and anime. love it, even. why cant they get that and let me buy what i want!!! grr.

how did u convince ur parents to let u buy manga?

  • @beyondbookworm you should explain to them that u really love/ like manga.

P.S your sooo lucky, u have 70, i have only, like um...37or 38 if im sure... and well, i just started collected when i was 13, but i just became 14 so i started about a year ago iu can say

  • she maybe the only child of the family.

  • @jafar7523629 i am too.

  • nihongo wa yomimasu ka?

    (can you read Japanese?)

nice collection i like a lot

  • what is the magazine for boys u said i cant understand what u said?

  • (srry, i dunno why i'm writing this. i just have to say it.) I LOVE KAMICHAMA KARIN!!( she just reminds me of mysef) hav u also got code geass?^ ^

say, How can a 13-years old girl with not so great grades save money for manga?

and how's shugo chara ad di gi charat?

  • DAMN YOUR HOT!! anime/manga fangirls dont look like you

  • I love DBZ!!!

They finished the series and created vizbig edition!!!

    Its 3 volumes in 1!!!

    I have vizbig 1 and 2 ...so I have volumes 12345and6!!!

  • i want to fuck you and save 10000$ a DAY call me

  • I understand that people are fascinated by material objects but I don't understand how someone can think of comics as being less valuable than the paper they're printed on.

    @tokirocket's comment to darkman95

  • congtron: That is because you are misinterpreting what I said. I'm actually saying I find MORE value in them BEYOND the story.

  • That's cool.

  • @tokirocket are u going to be making more videos?

  • I got the english Dragonball in "VizBIG" edition. I was impressed by the color pages so then I went to get dragon ball Z which I only found in normal version(but i knew there is vizbig) so then in the manga i reached very dark pages...i realised they r black and whitened color pages..

By the way, I have a question, why is it that the front page of a chapter from the weekly issue in japan usualy color but when that front page is in the published english volumes its black n white?

  • A another good tip is to sell the ones you don't like!

  • what does the special edition ? and perfect edition ?and limitid edition means ?

  • Comment removed

  • If you really want to buy something that can be obtained easier, for free, and more readily online then that's on you. The rest of us sane people will enjoy reading and enjoying the same thing without wasting a dime.

  • You mean "The rest of us who don't enjoy the same hobby that you enjoy." Again, the whole POINT of MY hobby is to search for, find, evaluate, purchase, and OWN the actual book. It's almost secondary that there are stories inside. What you're talking about (simply reading a translation of a comic illegally) is a whole different hobby. So, as I said, you're talking to the wrong person. I'm not interested in your hobby, and you clearly are not interested in mine. The two things are unrelated.

  • May I ask how much your Kaimchama Kain chu special editions cost?

i can';t rember which video I saw them in so i just cliked on random one.

I have been trying to get some for awhile.

  • I believe I spend about $10~11 each on them the week of their release dates from Kinokuniya (in the US). They are probably worth more now, and I would suggest looking on eBay, or call Kinokuniya and see if they might be able to get it. Though it has been a while since, so they may not be able to get any more at that price.

  • Thanks :D

I can get them for £9 from a Japanese person with shipping which is around $15-$18?

WHich I might do soon :D

    One more question sorry XD

    They come with postcards right?

I saw a picture on google with them with postcards and my Tsubasa and Shugo chara came with postcards so they do too?

  • Lost less than 5 seconds in. Fuck.

  • Am I speaking too fast or do you mean the subject matter is lost on you?

  • >buy

    >manga

    HAHAHAHAHA

  • Christ, the main way to save money is not spend it on this shit.

  • These videos are about original, japanese language manga collecting, incase you are selectively illiterate. The point IS to COLLECT them. I buy them often for $1 a piece in great condition. I haven't read ALL of the manga that I own, some of them I own simply for my collection. The other reason one might want to own manga is to practice reading Japanese in a fun way.

  • Why would you pay money for that shit when it's all free on the Internet?

  • dark, Edward, and firemaka: It's nice that you think you have useful input and all, but sadly this is not the video you're looking for. Find someone who is talking about overpriced, poorly translated comics, who is not learning Japanese, and who doesn't collect... that is the person you mean to speak with about lame, free translations and "scanlations." Which are illegal, btw.

  • "Overpriced?" How is FREE overpriced? And you can still learn Japanese and read fanscans for free, it's what I'm doing.

  • You could save all your money by just reading manga online. I've read hundreds of manga and haven't spent a cent.

  • how about the hundreds of good manga that aren't scanlated? I can think of 100 that I've waiting for 6 years, really no choice but to buy it.

  • Nice video! ^_^ Whenever I buy new manga I never buy the series unless I get number one at the time or if I can get the first volume quick. Otherwise I don't bother or I write the name down and buy it online.

  • can u read japanese?

  • Yes, she can. :)

  • i have the same problem with di gi charat i have to by the original author and i have two others my hina and one by Yuki the one u have but mine is in English so i get confused TT-TT

  • okay i dont get it what is that big book

    at 8:44 called ?

  • i love this video

  • i like american comics and manga

  • hey nice video :]

that phonebook thing u mentioned thats like the weekly issue yeah?

so shonenjump is the same also ? like fat like that? :O :p

  • is all u have japanese manga? :)

  • could you do some reviews of some japanese manga that is not out in britain and tell us whats it about and whats it like

    that woudl be very interesting

  • Comment removed

  • hey thanks for your tipps. but Im 20 years and new in the maga branch. *lol* so, which books are the best? hope you understand my english. see you sarah

  • nice tips! will use in future but for american releases!

  • 2:09

I have the same OCD with my manga XD

  • I notice that you have lots of originals. How do you feel about American releases? Do you think they have any/as much value as the original japanese ones?

I know that even in America we have specials, re-releases and limited.

  • lemme put in my 2 cents... if your concerning the sale prices in book stores, we really overprice it, like in japan, you can get a volume for 2-4 bucks where as here, its around 8 dollars

  • To be honest I don't have a problem with spending 8-10 bucks on a manga. I can remember having to spend around 20 for Ranma 1/2 and Fushigi yugi when they first came out.

I'll find a way to pay for the manga I want to read so price was never really a problem for me.

  • are they all in japanese REPLY ;O

  • I don´t have so many mangas!! I have 14 love hina, 2 god child, 2 one pice and 1 nana! but I have all school rumble DVD!! and thanks for The vid!! ( I´m 14 and can´t so good english!!!)

  • i read manga online for FREE!!!!!

  • go up and get me a chicken sandwich and waffle fries for FREE!!!

  • Thats not a good thing, kool. Not to preach but if yo don't support your favorite manga less of that manga will be produced.

  • To koolkittyfun:

Some say they got a virus for reading free manga.

  • You could at least SUPPORT the artists by buying the manga. Also, the web comics skip a lot of chapters that you can only read when you BUY the manga, cheapo. You can't call yourself a manga fan.

  • Nice video!

Hey where can you buy the ribbon magazine or the telephone book( I don't know what there called, sorry) I call it a magazine cause I read shojo beat. (sadly there not making anymore)

  • um.. about the monthey huge book thing

do you do them in english

and how much do they cost

if you could please tell me

    thank you very much

  • They are only in Japanese each month all the manga chapters are in Japanese.

If you live in the U.K it cost £9 and you can get them from the japan center.

  • ummmm well Shonen Sunday or Jump costs 30 bucks for the years (12 books) if you subscribe through mail.

  • do u have dc collections??

  • are most of your manga collection japanese?

and with the limited additions Im gonna asume that it will only come out for japan and not for usa/canada. right?

ohhh and doesnt shipping kill you on ebay/amazon...cause i try buying from there but the shipping is sooo expensive.

  • yea limited edition are usually released for the Japanese versions, take all the video games namely PS2 games that are released, each are released with their respective special/limited editions. Which are by the way expensive.
