First off, very awesome of you doing this for everyone and taking the time making the video.
I just bought a Align 3GX for my Trex 700N (very excited as this is my first 90 size FBL heli) and a Align 3G for my 12S 600E.I had a Align 3G about a year ago and seems the setup on the 3GX is the same so happy about that.My question is,do I need 2 satellites or will one be fine on the 700N ?Just not sure if 1 is used for pod and boom helis and 2 is used for scale heli's?Thanks..
You need only do it at mid stick position. Don't bother with the top end and low end. There are dynamic forces being place on the Flybarless system rotor system that are used to stabilize the helicopter. If you input mix like old mechanical setups you will induce drift in flight. So don't ad any mixing or your going to be chasing a drift problem it would be like adding inputs at various attitudes of flight in each case it would cause differing degrees of input dependent on pitch or cyclic.
And also I am confeused with some of the software settings. Some of it seems like it would clash with some of the radio settings such as swash bell hiller rates or what not.Says not to go under 50 and in the software I have 50 and radio is 60 can I turn bell hiller down to zero and use radio swash values. And also expo I turn this off in the 3gx and use radio with flybar feel turned up.IDK tried different approaches after just trying basic but feels way out of trim and abrupt pitch clueless.
Hey jeff.Tried calling you but was your day off.I have done all the settings as you just did with swash level sub and trims set to zero and adjusted all mechanicaly. Then went threw the process of setting my dr to about 70 and went threw the calibration just as you did.Im not having any luck. While checking on the table all works in the air it seems to lift off ok but when it drifts and I go to correct does abrupt pitch and been replacing parts.Feels like low gain but its turned up to 70.
You can try making both ail and elv values the same in your radio in swash menu say 50 and 50. Then redo your DIR process. Also if you could update your settings in the software by selecting the type of helicopter say a 600 and target expert, normal, or beginner. Then write the file to the 3Gx. This will give you a good starting point. Once you fly your helicopter stock in one of the 3 profiles and have no drift. Then start to adjust to your flying style. Don't make adjustments unitl you fly.
@justmerichie Thanks jeff.I will give it one more shot and update my settings to begginer and see if it appears im going to get somewhat of a level lift off.I may have had some vibration first go around found that the rotor head had a little slop.Have another rotor head but its shorter in design but its solid.
If using a BEC like on the 550 or the 500 the answer is yes. It is for safety so that the rotor blades don't spool. If it is a 600 or larger and you have on board RX power then you can simply not connect power to the motor. Just power to 3GX and receiver.
Another alternative would be to use a throttle hold position just so long as the pitch curve is the same that your using in idle up modes.

Do I need level my swash plate at high and low stick position or just at mid position?!

hi do you need to match your elevator values to your aileron values in dir mode.thanks kev

Do I need to disconnect the motor for this process?
Erni66x 5 months ago
Yes, you need to be in 120 CCPM mode for use with the 3Gx.
Mrrcscaleguy 5 months ago
Hi if im not using a receiver does my radio need to be in ccpm mode please. kev

@helitwin1 Yes you will need to be in CCPM mode.
