  • sir, wish u a very happy new year. uve done a great job, it would be easier if u could explain the strumming pattern.. plz..... thanx

  • can somebody give me the same grips to this?

PS. sorry for my english ; p

  • very well played but when ure creatin a cover try and play the entire thing in the end...

cuz if its not in the end it doesnt even matters.....

Wow do I sound like that LP song ?

  • what is the strum pattern?

  • Heyy, whats your guitar? Wanna buy an acoustic guitar :) do you recommend it? Thanks..

  • @mrfinger01man Yes, it is a good guitar all around, but I recommend you take in your favorite strap and pick, stand up (sitting is ok, but standing with a strap is better) and play as many guitars as you can that in your budget, then pick up an expensive Martin or Taylor, then go back and play the cheaper guitars again and you will know which one is right for you! :)

  • @mrfinger01man I strongly reccomend an alvarez. It is only 400-500$, and is an amazing sounding guitar. I'd say it sounds nicer than many guitars in the 900-1000$ range. Be sure to get a cut-away =)

  • thanks.. really helpful....

  • @junbing611 Glad to help! :)

  • @MusicLover40059 You will get it! Thanks! :)

  • question, for the Dm can you use the bar chord dm or does it have to be open chord

  • @shaun127969 Yes. A Dm chord is composed of notes in the Dm scale and so you can build and play a chord anyway you want so long as it has notes from that scale including the root note-D. Thanks! :)

  • @MGMJBand Thanks! :) Sorry I don't explain strumming

  • the two person who dislikes this i think they cant play this , because they think its too COMPLICATED =))

  • @jsparkz96 Thanks! :)

  • @KingsBladeUSA no prob.. they should thank you because without your video , some begginers will not learn.. dont mind other guitarist that laugh at you because, before they became PRO'S they became BEGINNER first =))

  • @mrfinger01man I am happy to help! :)

  • Thank you for this Video i leaned it well.. the strumming is a miss but when i read the comments it got clear..(didn't have much problem with it while listening to the actual song though) *Thubs UP*!!! gr8 Guide! <3 :D:D

  • @marto6269 You are welcome! I am happy to help! Thanks for your comments! :)

  • iv bourght Avril Lavignes official LET GO guitar chords book and the chords she plays in this book for Complicated is

    Em, Cmaj7, G, D, Cadd9, C, Am,

how come u play it with bars? thats the harder way aint it?

just not sure wat strum pattern to put with my book if i compy your strum pattern with the book chords it dont sound right any ideas?

  • @SeGaSaTuRn1994 This is the way Evan played it on the video. I have no idea how Avril plays it or how the chords are in your book. I play by ear so I don't even know the names of the chords half the time. You might check out Wayslinn's lessons on youtube.

  • @KingsBladeUSA ok thanks

  • urggh ! i really love this song . i've watched this video a millions times . but i could not capture the strumming . i'm just a begginer . what's the pattern ?

  • @abbeyreidawn Sorry, I don't teach strumming. It is something you need to learn how to do by listening over and over. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • @KingsBladeUSA it's Ok . maybe i'll just have to ask for some help to my classmates . anyway , ireally like this video . this is where my skater-guy learned how to play complicated ((:

  • @mik3p0wer Thanks for the translation :)

  • damn, wtf I can either sing or play, but not both?

nice vid, the only problem with it is that it doesn't describe the strumming patterns (

  • @MrDanilsk I am not to good with explaining how to strum. Thanks for watching and commenting! :)

  • Oh dudeeee, you play so well :) IMPRESSED!

  • @KleinKatja Thanks

  • why doesn't anyone post up the song's electric guitar?...i mean.. no1 makes guitar lessons for an electric guitar.. theres a part of this song that there even isn't any acoustic guitar....

    sam516856@yahoo.com.tw

  • @sam516856 Sorry, I don't have any tabs!

  • @Obambizzle08 YW, I am glad to help spread the music! :)

  • Hey this video tutorial is really good...but kinda tough for beginners...But this lesson was great !! Do you have any easier chords for this song? =) Thank you!

  • @sucheta97 You can just play the basic 4 chords any way you want which are Dm Bbsus2, F and C. I was just playing it the way Evan was playing it. I am sure Avril would just play the basic chords! :)

  • this was great :D can you do a lesson on the song "take me away" and "everything back but you" their both by avril... I just can get the intro right to those songs... i would really appriciate if you could :) thanks for this lesson!

  • @sprockz17 Hi, Thanks for watching and commenting! I am not able to do any requests at the moment. I was still planning to do My Happy Ending sometime though! :)

  • @KingsBladeUSA well its ok, :P i already know my happy ending on guitar...Well thanks anyways! :)

  • yeah its ok still, I guess the responsibility is really on me to learn the chords, its noo biggy! bless up man!

    :+:JAMAICA:+:

  • dude this cover is kinda complicated for starters like me..taheheheh keep it up I like it

    :+:JAMAICA:+:

  • dude this cover is kinda complicated for starters like me..taheheheh keep it up I like it

    :+:JAMAICA:+:

  • @seoncope Hi, I agree this is probably not the best way for a beginner to play it. I would just stick to the basic chord progression without making more "complicated" than it needs to be. I was just playing like Evan was playing it, not the way Avril would play it. Just stay with the basic chords. Thanks for watching and commenting! :)

  • @KingsBladeUSA so do you have any suggestions which song fit enough for a beginner like me..

  • @vae26 Avril's Nobody's Home is a good beginners song. I have 4 videos on that.

  • @jeansrocktrendy Hey, just do it your way! :)

  • it seems like you're making it MUCH more complicated than it really is (pun not intended)

  • @meskalinmaskin Actually I agree. Evan T way overdid it when he played his parts. I tried to play it like he did on the video, but I am sure Avril did it very simply and efficiently. There are only like 4 or 5 chords in the song (sorry, I don't remember without listening to it again). There is no need to "overcomplicate" it! :)

  • wow. =X and you were saying they were sloppy..

  • @vVvVALORvVv Hi, I was referring to a couple of previous videos and they were very sloppy! :)

  • Thanks :D

  • Your Welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting! :)

  • WAIT! What aare the chords again?

  • The basic chords are Dm, Bflatsus2, F and C, just on different positions on the neck. Hope this helps!

  • i learnt this song from you, and I got most of the parts correct, but I just cant get the rhythm in the chorus right, do you just mute it with your fret hand every other strum?

  • Strumming is always a little tricky because everyone may do it just a little differently, but often you may strum a muted strum or even an open strum or just sweep right past the strings altogether. One must listen closely and learn to figure this out by ear. Good luck and thanks again! PS: I am geting ready to do "Happy Ending" for yas! :)

  • @kingsbladeusa:hi! im a 10 year old kid! i play guitar too

i want to learn to play this song! tnx for posting this video!!![im just a beginner]

  • Perfect age to start playing! :)

  • thanks! can you play "my happy ending"? by avril lavigne too pls upload it thank yah!

  • I will think about that one since I haven't done an Avril lesson in a very long time It is a good beginners song. I am almost finished with a project I am working on now and maybe I will do that one for ya soon! :)

  • i love all of your avril lessons! i love love love it. i haven't picked up my g fid for qhite some time. i found inspiration :]

  • Thanks, I am happy to help! :)

  • what do i if i cant do bar chords???

  • Practice! You could get by with just the basic chords too. You don't have to do bar chords. Dm Bbsus2, F and C. Look them up online to find other ways to play them besides bar chords. You only need 2 notes to make a power chord and 3 notes are easy to play too- experiement and do a little trial and error on your own! :)

  • could you post the chords for this version? it would really help, as i am not always aloud on the computer.!

  • The basic chords are Dm, Bflatsus2, F and C, just on different positions on the neck. Hope this helps. You could download the video as an mp4 and put it on your ipod (if you have one) Thanks! :)

  • thanks for the chords! i will try to learn, and no ipod im afraid, just a shuffle!

  • Thanks, I am happy to help! :)

  • YW! :)

  • hey dude :) thanks so much for this video. but i cannot understand the second chord, im a beginner, and can you please give me a website that has a diagram form of these chords?? thanks soo much :)

  • YW! It is a Csus2 Chord and you can find it in most chord books or charts. Just google Csus2 and there will be plenty to learn from. Thanks for watching and commenting! :)

  • Hey! Sorry to bug ya, but what's the strum pattern you use for the intro, i can't work it out, it sounds simple, but i know i keep missing something?

  • Strumming can be difficult because guitarists will actually strum "nothing" (or deadened or open strings) on off notes and it can confuse someone who thinks that every strum strikes a chord. It is a bit of a finesse and requires trained listening skills which you cannot learn from any teacher. Keep at it! :)

  • Cool, thanks man, that was actually pretty helpful!!!! I think I've nearly got it!

  • Hey!! That was an awesome lesson, thanks heapz!! If you can, I would really appreciate it, if you uploaded a vid of the timing for the song. Anyays thanks again!! =)

  • Thanks, I am happy to help! :)

  • Yeah I'm on an Avril kick right now. I've played for a long time but I'm out of practice. All the people posting lessons are saving me alot of work.

  • Glad to help! :)

  • thanks... U play really well...

  • Thanks! :)

  • i have trouble baring the whole first fret

  • Hi, keep practicing! This is not an easy song! Also, some guitars or strings are harder to push down on, but it really takes a lot of practice. Bar chords require a lot of leverage. Try bringing the neck closer to your face, bending your elbow and wrist into a stronger grip. Move your thumb around until you find a position that gives you the most comfort and strength... you will figure it out! :)

  • @KingsBladeUSA Way late, but thanks, only by bringing the neck closer to my face, I finally got a nice sounding barred first fret!

  • Yes, absolutely, it is very important how one holds the guitar and manipulates their shoulder, elbow, wrist and thumb for leverage when doing barr chords! :)

  • oic :)

  • pretty sure we have the same gutiar :D .. is yours applause?

  • Hi, Ovations are nice, mine is a 1985 Ovation Legend Electric Acoustic model#1617. They don't make them anymore. Thanks for watching and commenting! :)

  • its really complicated

  • Yes, this is not the easiest song to play, but it's worth the effort. Stay with it and eventually you will get it! :)

  • Not easy.

  • No, it wasn't for me either. It takes a lot of practice! You will get it! :)

  • Thanks~I'll try my best!:)

  • is this the same as for electric guitar?

  • Yes, you could play it exactly the same way. :)

  • Thanks! Glad to help! :)

  • thanx a lot!!!

  • You are welcome a lot!!! :)

  • what means skeleton version?

  • "bare bones" :) It means just the chords in a short version. :)

  • ahhh i see... im trying to learn to play guitar and you teach in a understandable way! thanks a lot

  • wait...what's the fingering on the 3rd chord?

  • Fmaj bar chord. If you google guitar chords, you should be able to find it. :)

  • thanxxxxxxx

  • You're Welcome :)

  • If you watch the whole video I believe I explain the chords in more detail after the skeleton version. :)
