  • Great review. Thanks

  • Did not sound lavaleir better to me.

  • I got an Audio Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone from Amazon for about $18. It works better than my old AT lav, and it doesn't require the XLR to 1/8" adapter. The adapter added noise.

  • Great review. Thanks.

  • the lavaleir suks

  • Nice presentation. I have a Zi8 and ordered, tonight, a Sony DS70P clone and aTASCAM TM-ST1 Stereo Condenser Microphone. I listened to some music videos on YouTube that used the TASCAM TM-ST1 Stereo Condenser Microphone and they sounded very good. It's $30.84 from Amazon. The Sony clone is going to cost a little less than $8 shipped from US seller.

I'm anxious to test them at some live music performances.

  • The internal electronics in the Zi8 tend to be noisy if you are using it for your gain...the audio I get using my Zoom H2 is flawless...Id have to wonder if Blue may make a mikey to go with this camera...or for camcorders in general.

  • yea you have a fake :( but it sounds ok

  • Thanks for the advice. I'll turn up gain, then test AT again.

  • You need to turn up the gain at the camera for the AT mike. The Shure sounds the best but the Sony clone is good too. I use an AT9400 one point stereo handheld mike for best sound and I just ordered a Sony clone for $4.15. Can't beat it for the price and it's portable.

  • I still hear the high-pitch chirpy noise with the internal mic. I hoped 1.06 firmware would fix that.
