good but very expensive. A little bit less expensive, something around 120-150 U$ will be ok...but it goes out of the heritage of xx-20 or twin pedals..lost for little..
To properly use this pedal you Midi input a clock source that your drummer plays along to. The drummer is playing to a click from the sequencer which if he is in time the pedal will slice up the audio (your guitar) in sync with him. This review doesn't touch on that at all. This device has a midi input on the back for this purpose.
@PEZEMILIO if only. i bet this pedal would be able to make it to practice better, wouldn't do drugs, wouldn't drink excessively, wouldn't whine and whine all practice, and would actually do stuff for the band. it probably has a better chance of gettin some tail too.
seriously BOSS what is the point of this if it doesnt actually store anything as the guy admits...? no loop storage, no user presets, and according to the manual it seems the loop(which cant be overdubbed like almost all loopers)is deleted as soon as you stop it playing;can anyone confirm this? with the abundance of card storage options these things should be standard; especially given the gimmicky,space-wasting LED. also when doing a demo for the public show the units pushed to their limits.
Sounds like the Musicians Friend hold-music. I have to agree with the person who said that classic rock riffs + slicer = fail. Also, it shouldn't take until 2:30 to hear the actual pedal. Play first, talk later needs to be your format, fellas.
did all of you haters out there ever consider that some of the people who do things the best in the world, are a little different than most people......and sometimes they act a little different than the most people, because they are different and that may be related to the fact that they have great skills or talents........just sayin'
I don't see the need for presets. Presets are a bit unneccessary when most people may not even ever use them. Making your own sound is more fun, imo. If there weren't present on this things, they may have had room for a save loop function. Shame there isn't one. That and the need for presets are the only things wrong with this . Boss came so close to, for once, to making something that's actually half decent, lol!
Paul R --- a little constructive crit. --- Just get to the sounds, man! We don't ck these vids out to hear someone talk abt a pedal...we come to hear it!
i highly doubt this is what this pedal is used for. my friend uses it for intros or really mellow songs that require much depth and atmosphere. this distoted metal/hard rock stuff just sounds really lame.
This sounds way cooler on paper then the noise it actually makes. It mixes a looped signal, with techno beats.I thought the result would be way cooler. Even if you like techno it seems quite limiting without user created beats, and without being able to store anything i can never see myself using it live. It's not for me but if you like it, then power to ya.
If you're even remotely interested in this pedal, do not base your purchase on this video. It's not meant to be a looper. The looper function is almost an afterthought. This this is meant to be a very advanced tremolo/filter/auto arpeggio type of deal. Very electronica, digital techno sounding, but even more versatile than that. Check out all the other videos. The Boss Soundcheck video is the best IMO. The ability to sync tempo via midi sold me on this one.
I so want to get this twin. Tone is important, but when your experimentation is this big, people won't really take note of the tone. And it's not like it totally destroys the tone.
quite expensive for something that is a delay and drums. get a synth wah with an a mxr carbon copy much more sounds and weird noises and both are more useful in a real life situation unlike this IMO.
it's not drums and does not have delay. im not sure where the daly in the video is coming from but it's not coming from the pedal.
this pedal sounds exactly like a strong tremolo with its simpler settings. he has his direct level up so it seems less like a tremolo and so its effect seems minimal. it sounds less like a tremolo when you get into other banks and patterns. the harmonic banks are really cool. if you use this witha digitech wammy, it sounds amazing.
i probably wouldnt make it my only pedal to buy for a a few months but i would probably buy it if i had the money to throw around, lol looks fun to play with
So what if he uses a few pedals to make really good music? Who doesn't? We all use pedals every now and then. He still makes beautiful music, and his music will remain beautiful.
It is very different compared to other pedals out there. its a nice idea to see somthing very very different if you wanna get creative but i can see why people would say they dont like it
It's an RC30 that you can't store on.

Does the looper function work with the slicer off? Or do you always have to play with the slicer if you want to loop?

Guitar World, seriously, do yourselves a favor and follow my advice:
Step one, fire this tool
Step two, call Andy from pgs dot com
Step three, think of the highest number you possibly can, write it on a check, and make him an offer.
Backup plan, if Andy turns you down, repeat steps two and three for Jack Bl- I mean, gearmandude.
Follow my simple instructions and maybe I'll start buying your magazine again.
