  • Oh please tell me how I can get one just like yours. I just keep coming back to this video.

  • That is a beautiful Kalimba!

  • 吹奏楽部で吹いた!

    なんだかんだ言って凄いw!

  • First iPhone evahhhh!!! :)

  • Great playing. I used to have a similar (more basic) instrument. Had no idea one could play such an intricate melody with it. Bach's just brilliant, and so is your playing. Thanks for posting this. Cheers. :-)

  • @sanehatter1

Thank you. They say Kalimbas are the origin of music boxes.

Everyone would be caught by its tiny sound.

  • Just beautiful. I really like your playing. This is one of Bach's melodies which I play every day for my pleasure.

  • @zolotojsnegify

Спасибо. I also like Russian folk music.

  • wow, i am just amazed by this video... also so very amazed that instruments can play that song so beautifully.

  • @Kensailogos

Thanks. This sound of Kalimba may let babies sleep Zzzzzzzz~.

  • これギター屋に売ってた!

  • "Original" meaning it's the first one you owned, or that it is of your own design and making? Either way, a delightful instrument, and beautiful playing.

    And yes, very relaxing.

  • @doctorpsycho1960

Thanks, and a good question. It is of my own design and making.

I designed and make three types of 2octave kalimbas. I'm sorry that I had to ommit some parts of the tune,

because this type of kalimba has only two extra keys.

  • Bravo, very beautiful sound, you reached your goal it really relaxed my mind;-)

  • @het459

    Muito obrigado.

  • great

  • thanks for the music!!!

  • it's like playing a videogame... it's small but very interesting... this is better than GameBoy

  • Kalimba is originally from Africa.

It is also called "thumb piano".

  • Wow, very interesting.

  • That's amazingly awesome. It's a great song too!

  • this is so pretty!!

  • Very nice !

  • what kind of music instrument is ti! it's cute! i like it

  • 謝々!

I improved African folk musical instruments.

They say Kalimbas are the origin of music boxes.

  • Just beautiful,

  • Suki desu yo. Goten o sashiagemashita. Doko de onaji o kaimasu ka?

  • Thank you, arigato. Nice Japanese.

I replied two times, but they didn't appear this

comment page. I don't know why.

I make 2octave Kalimbas, please contact me individually.

You may find my mail address on the index page of my homepage.

    (Please change "●" to "@".)

You can find my URL in the information on the right hand side.

    Sorry, it's bothersome.

  • I will be in contact. I would love to acquire one of your handmade instruments!

  • Are you Christian? This is a beautiful song to Jesus Christ's honour. It is a small part of His Glory that this song should be played on such an unusual instrument!

  • I'm just fond of Bach's music.

  • i do not know if you like it, but do you know how to fix the springy-dead notes you sometimes run into?

  • i don't mean the ones you hear in the video, but rather when you go over a note which makes no sound but a subtle buzz; this was a good video, good job

  • Thank you.

You may know Kalimbas have a device that makes noisy sound intentionaly.

(My wife prefers the sound without the device.)

If you listen to my play just in front of me, not in the video,

the buzz sound may be more comfortable.

    Kalimbas have many overtones and

    the device increases them.

  • (what a releif, phew) so, after entering the first comment, i read up on African lamellophones.

i discovered that the buzzing parts on a mbira (i suppose also the kalimba) were of significant ritual importance

so once again, thanks for bein easy on me

  • Wow that's amazing! My fingertips always hurt when I play those . . .

  • I also play the guitar, so I keep my fingernails

    a bit long.

But it's dangerous when young people go for

    sports.

  • Bach's music can be played on just about anything!

  • I hope Bach will be pleased with this video.

  • Thank you.

    Keep smilling like Miles!

  • pretty!!! thanks for the post!

  • Fantastic. I have a kalimba and this is the song I tried to play but I don't have as many notes and played a very simply version. This was lovely.n Thanks for sharing . Please post more.

  • Thank you. I sometimes play this tune at the beginning of my concert.

Mainly I play the guitar and dulcimer.

I hope you will enjoy my another video.

  • Really beautiful man! Keep goin´!!!!

  • Vielen Dank!

  • that was awesome

  • Very beautiful

  • Many African (and Asian) musical instruments

have a device that makes noisy sound intentionaly.

You may see colorful beads on the kalimba

    dancing and making noisy sound.

  • oh haha i wasnt sure if it wa like broken or something

    anyways, nice playing

  • Nice!

  • ขอบคุณ ครับ !

  • Very very nice!!! Relax really!!!

    From Italy, MIkefox

  • Tante Grazie!

  • WOW!!! Your answer in italian, my language!!! You are very kind, you are a great gentleman!! I admire also your "Greenleeves" with dulcimer, you fantastic player!!

    Ciao Dulcimelos, have nice days!

  • I really got to get me one of those. I like the way it sounds.

  • 自作のカリンバですか?

    サワリをいれているのがなんともAfloでいいですね。

    自分で作ってみたいなあ。

    良かったら作り方教えてください。

  • very nice !!!

  • Aweosme! Absolutely awesome!

  • Really, Bach is awesome.

I can play several folkmusical instruments,

but have few repertoire on the kalimba.

You have a large repertoire on the array mbira.

    You are a nice musician!

    Dulci

  • Fantastic!

I also have kalimba, but I can't play like you.

  • You know, I never did know the B part, I will

be studying your version! And also will feature your video in my upcoming Kalimba Magic Newsletter. -Mark

  • Thanks for finding my video.

My version has one semitone(E♭) on the scale

    of F.

I will be studying your swinging rhythm.
