I know this seems excessive but every video I see of these they rev the piss out of it like this on a cold start and then bam it's running perfect. Maybe these cars like it rough?
I own such cars (not this one in particular, although I'm tempted...)....to give you a hint: when you haven't run them for months - disconnect the spark plugs and run the starter on battery only. this builds up at least a modicum of oil lubrication (oil pressure builds up on turning the engine only). thats key with our italian friends - let the thing run about without firing up for 30s. that is, if u don't kill the starter that way (killed it 2 time on my stratos...)
Its good to see people that know about their cars and take pride in them at the same time don't just let them sit in the garage for their whole existence. Thanks for posting the video :)
Great! Probably one of the best cold start videos. Thanks for posting it. Grouchy 12-cylinder, carburetted Italian cars are the best. "Bravo" to the battery, also!
0:00 - 0:47 If you do not pay attention to the fact that this is a car, it seems that she got sick and sneezes, and it's rushes you to say - "Bless you dear!"))
It should start a lot easier than that, even when not driven for months, I have owned two Boxers, and never had such difficulty starting my cars once the carbs are balanced, and floats are set

Well, I try to drive as much as possible, but not in winter, there is too much salt on the road =now :-(. That's why there will always be some long periods in the garage. It runs perfectly when driven regularly. Just ensure the battery is fully charged!

I tried to start up my 512TR and the bloody thing won't start! The older Ferrari's, especially the flat 12's can be tempramental.

Ferrari's aren't meant to sit in a garage... they're meant to be run. that's why this bitch didn't wanna start :)
