this probably isnt too much help but if I'm correct its really just a box. I've heard about them before from a friend, they are are actually boxes made with acoustics i guess to sound different if you hit them in different places. as smartass as that probably began to sound i swear its true lol

@bnida no its a cajon.. its acoustic snare strings ran on the inside and you can tune them for more snare or bass
