  • Avenue Q puppets meets the muppets

  • can Avenue Q puppets meets the sesame street

  • This cast sucks. The original was the best.

  • not for kids?? SHIT I'VE ALREADY LISTENED TO EVERY SONG LIKE FIVE MILLION TIMES!!!!!! Im 15 :P

  • @JONASPuppy887 he mean ppl that are under 12 thats kids, i was looking at their website

  • PUPPET VIBRATOOOO YUSSS!!!

  • I think that putting the microphone on the puppets left shoulder would probably work and be more comfortable than on the forehead.

  • Trekkie forever!

  • FINAL BWAY CAST!!

  • I.... want to go to puppet camp.

  • Yeah, I know how it is..

  • 0:20 .... you mean like Rango?

  • I saw this cast in Sacramento, CA. It is a fantastic show.

  • I know they said that avenue q is like seaceme street, but who is Rod? And Nicky?

  • @Anocoals Bert and Ernie.

    and Trekkie is Cookie Monster...

Not sure who Princeton is though..

  • Comment removed

  • @Nabels0 Princeton can be elmo!!!

  • @kdog177 He is Elmo to me, because he's sweet, naive and a bit gullible

  • @Nabels0 Maybe Princeton could be kermit

  • Just saw this in Vancouver yesterday, it was awesome, as I expected. I wish there were more!

  • The guy who was the pupeteer of Nicki was really hot when I saw this in England. But here....

  • I'm sorry, but when it showed them performing "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist," the one woman playing Gary Coleman had absolutely no emotion whatsoever.

  • What's the channel for this cause watching this on youtube is not enough!

  • @travinh111: There isn't a channel, sadly. It's only a play...but it is all over, NY, UK, European countries...Would like to see it in T.O. someday.

  • yes for kids viva la resistance XD eat it bitches

  • i wanna see this live soooooo bad!

  • sesame street meets south park lol. my faves are Nicky and Rod!

  • well it may be true about the original cast I don't think that takes away any of these guys' awesomeness! they are freaking fantastic! and I'm glad they are there, because I dont think the original cast performs this any more anyway.

  • Avenue Q is, in a sense, a tribute to Jim Henson and the Muppets.

  • It's very easy to forget that the puppet isn't a real person. It makes the joke about the blonde who went to see Jeff Dunham seem like a very easy yet casual mistake. I actually need to remind myself that it's the guy who's moving make the damn puppet talk, not the puppet itself.

  • @yshulduno mmm exactly. It does help for them to be passionate about it. I don't think anyone who didn't think a puppet was"real" would do such a great job of animating one :P

  • He buddy, Where did you get that shirt??? I want to buy one!! :) haha

  • Ugh! That cast look Bad!

Nothing can beat the riginal and he best!

  • DAMMIT WHY DOES GARY COLEMAN HAVE A PONYTAIL!!!!!!!????? HES A GUY!!!

  • @FatHellsBells Its because Everyone knows who Gary Coleman is in America so they made him a girl but had him in West End (but he's dead now :[.)

  • @xaLeXcRoMbIeX I see where your coming from but why is his name "Gary" coleman? If they changed him to a girl?

  • @FatHellsBells Dude, they didn't "change" him to a girl. The character is still male. He's played by a female because they needed someone short with a high-pitched voice. Same reason a woman plays Peter Pan on stage.

  • @janekrahe He's played by a male in the UK productions though.

  • @Angie2343 That's because they were originally unsure about whether UK audiences would know who Gary Coleman was, so they changed to character to just a guy named "Gary". But fans protested and the character was returned to Gary Coleman, but they kept the man they'd cast to play him.

  • @janekrahe A good choice in my opinion, because that's how I envision the real Gary Coleman if he didn't have his problems. A tall, handsome black man.

  • I remember seeing advertisements for this last year when it was playing here in OC. I didn't know what it was so I never got tickets. Now I'm regretting it. =\ Hope it comes back soon.

  • lol i love muppets

  • i love avenue q the best of best XD awesonmickey and ron lololo, more funny stories ,i love avenue q :)

  • the origional cast is better

  • lmao 2:56

  • WHERE IS JOHNNY???????

  • You know wut, kids know a lot nowadays XD

  • you cant beat John Tartaglia!!!!!!!!!!

  • @arejayish EXACTLY!!!

  • I haven't seen this cast, or the touring production itself, but what I don't like about the videos shown HERE is that the cast don't give the puppets the larger-than-life, exuberant, flamboyant personality that I think the puppets deserve to have, seeing as they are PUPPETS and don't have to be realistic. Like if you compare Rick Lyon's (OBC) Nicky with the man who plays Nicky here, Rick's is much more loud and big-movements. They are puppets, so i think they are allowed to move not like humans

  • @SpinneyBigBird1095 David Benoit, to be exact, he looks kinda like Tyler Bunch and his Nicky/Trekkie sounds like Kevin Clash, listen to 1:46-1:48

  • meh... the original cast is WAY BETTER, but these guys do okay for replacements.

    except for nicky. nicky FAILS.

  • wheres puppet camp i can do kate monsters voice really well

  • I saw this cast at Sacramento. It was fantastic!

  • im confused who are he orginal

  • @TheMeganpow ppl that sadly don't perform anymore...

  • i saw this show i LOVED it i acually my dad went with me and he wasn't sure about it at first but after he loved the show and now his favourite character is Trekkie Monster lol. i love all of the characters and music and songs and the people doing the puppetreeing were great,It is a show that i would recomed to people and i hope they love it just as must as all of the fans who have seen it do.

  • This cast is is much better than the UK cast, IMHO, still not quite as good as the original cast, but I would definitely enjoy watching this cast.

  • Not for kids, I'm like, 12, and I already knew those swears two years ago.

  • @1wizgirl271 i'm 12 too and i watch it... except the sex scenes though..........

  • @bgrasso5 actually, I've only seen the gay song scene....... so i guess it isn't for kids.

  • i gotta see this show i been watching south park since i was 7 and...since this is a parody of sesame street...i really wanna see it...

  • It is like South Park, It's for adults and like south park KIDS DONT CARE. Im a kid and I watch South Park.

  • i watch and i'm 13 and i want to see this

  • want me to send you the link to the whole show?

  • sure

  • do. it's unbelievable!

  • Super want to see this show someday!!!

  • this isn't the original cast...but they are still good.

  • @sportyactress9 The off broadcast typically has different cast members, but they match the voices pretty damn well and can sing as well. It's almost as if the puppets are real people who remain at each show.

  • no one beats the original cast

  • @redtailedhawkdude NOBODY!

  • @redtailedhawkdude TRUE DAT!

  • @redtailedhawkdude I suppose you mean the original London cast...?

  • @robertlagestee no, they meant the original BROADWAY cast. john tartaglia, rick lyon, jennifer barnhart, you just can't beat them!

  • @robertlagestee The original cast for this play was in New York, not London. Even the lyrics were different for the UK.

  • @motherthing I know that! But I just mean that I prefer the OLC to the OBC...

  • @redtailedhawkdude This cast sucks!!! John Tartagila and Rick Lyon Rule!!!

  • @redtailedhawkdude

    So true

  • @redtailedhawkdude Was that the original cast?

  • @blackdog39 No..I think this was the first national tour cast

  • I saw it a couple days ago and got to go backstage! They even let me operate Nicky! It was so amazing!

  • The Broadway production?

  • No, the National Tour. It was in San Jose, CA.

  • SO JEALOUS!

  • @mikokat OMG lucky how come?

  • @mikokat i got to play with Trekki!

  • @mikokat AWW FUCKING LUCKY!!!

  • lol

i have that yellow and blue sweater

    XD

  • is this the new york preduction

  • @roddyandy Yes

  • Comment removed

  • All i can say is that...well...AvenueQ for the win pretty much!

  • was hard for me to understand most of words of lyrics. too fast.

  • God what he was saying was true getting those puppets just right is a fucking nightmare DX i played kate in a performance in my town (we didnt charge money to get in or for snacks so we were allowed to do the play cus we didnt profit off of it) and FUCK its hard to get the brathing right and just making them seem human ugghh *falls over in exaustion* grrrrr ...but i loved it LOL

  • im only ten and i love avenue q i get all of the jokes... idk if im supposed to though........ lol but all of the people were different who were playing the puppets... how old is this video?

  • I'm only 11, yet I can totally understand everyhting they talk about.

    O_O

    Dat bad?

  • not rlly im 14 almost 15 and i understand and relate to all the stuff thay sing/talk about hell i related to all this stuff when i first heard it when i was 9 lol

  • Sweet.

    They're pretty awesome shiz.

  • damn straight lol

  • lol

  • Haha! I went to puppet camp! Haha it was hilarious, I did a bunch of warm ups, and my arm was aching by the end xD T_T

  • Where is all this footage of the play coming from? Can I watch it all somewhere?

  • it came to my town once and got to see it for my birthday. i love this fucking musical. make it a damn movie already!!!!!!! id watch it 20 times!!!

  • seasome street meets south park. yup, that is deffinatly accurate. lol

  • couldn't completely agree more haha!

  • im a young teenager too

  • NOT FOR KIDS.

    Lol. :) he's adorable.

  • great show

  • I saw it on sunday, it was so worth the wait and the cash. Go see it on Broadway before it closes September 13th!

  • Actually Avenue Q is not dead. They announced that it is going to be moving off-broadway to new world stages. It starts preformances October 9 and tickets are already on sale. YAY! (I said yay cause my favorite characters are the Bad Idea Bears!)

  • well it is mean't to be for adults and i no u r 1 but y dont u find out the whole show is on a playlist on my channel y dont u hav a look and c wot u think of it

  • Well, why did you watch it then?

  • sesame street gone south park lol

  • it really is i hav the whole show on a playlist on my chanel its hillaroius

  • How the hell is a girl playing Gary Coleman?

  • It's almost always played by a female in Avenue Q.

  • Maybe the UK use the male actors... Ive seen it 3 times and seen two different male actors do Coleman. Still think its weird for a woman to play "Gary Coleman".

  • yea. and really, is the *real* Gary Coleman just too busy? (;

  • a girl has always played Gary Coleman, In london Gary was played by a guy, but it wasn't as good

  • Its just Da Hood comin' at Ya.

  • He said it's not for kids, I'm 13 and I like avenu Q my favorite charecters are Rod and Nikky.

  • Well to get the fullest of all of the pints you need to have experienced them, a kid has not experienced so much of the theaters involves, so that´s one reason they say not for kids. And another is for there own safty, it´s violet laungish and could give kids bad ideas.

  • Well some kids wouldn't even know what there saying but ya your right.

  • Ditto.

  • Enjouji71696... technically, you're a teenager, not a kid :) glad you like it!

  • ya but a young teenager. XD

  • no offense u ain't a kid Enjouji71696 xD be a grown up

  • I know, and I'm getting alot of comments on this. XD

  • lol sorry^^

  • OMG thats like the fith time I got commented here! XD

  • as i said sorry sorry^^ but its true lolz sorry i just thought it was odd cus so many ppl commented

  • It's ok......I don't know what to say now XD

  • well i'm twelve and i watched the entire musical the other day on youtube, and i have never sworn (intentionally- if i was asking what the word meant b4 i knew it was a bad word)

  • your twelve and you have never sworn I can't really remember when I started swaring maybe about 2 or 3 years ago.

  • where did you find the whole musical? I'm 13 and this is THE BEST musical i've ever seen! It's hilarious!

  • it was posted by franko3110, if that helps you find it. i think its still up.

  • oh i found it! thnx a ton!

  • You're twelve and you've seen Avenue Q? I'm shocked, really. Not because it has bad language and sex (kids get enough of that on T.V. and movies anyway) but because I don't think kids can understand it or relate to it. It's like 5-year-olds watching SpongeBob....a guy who has a job, his own house, and is trying to get a driver's license. What 5-year-old can relate to that?

Nothing against you or your age, I'm just surprised. :)

  • I liked Wicked better, but the a lot of the ideas in it (everyones a little bit raceist, shaudanfraude) are things that kids expirience by middle school. kids know a lot of things they shouldn't. Like everything in Avenue Q that I was able to laugh at. XD. and i think that with the sponge bob thing, they cant relate to owning a house, getting a job or trying to get a driver's lisense but they can understand working to accomplish something, going to school everday (which to them is work).

  • I can relate to this, because even as a 12-year-old we have different responsibilities. I have seen it, and it was a hilarious comedy that also had their parts full of moments where they actually did have emotion. I could relate to it in multiple ways, and maybe they know about things like this because of their family or condition? Who knows?

  • OMG i met The princeton guy yesterday in NYC

  • i met him the friday before last. he's nice.

  • Rob McClure. He is amazing. I actually took a class from him way before he was in Avenue Q. One of my friends from that class and I are always hearing things about Avenue Q and we are like:ROB!!

  • Their TV spots don't do them justice. Watch them live! They are brilliant!!!

  • I saw it in Broadway, and it is absolutely HILARIOUS!

No, they aren't ventriloquists. When you are performing to an audience of thousands, you need to overenunciate like crazy, which is nearly impossible with ventriloquism. They are puppeters, they work the puppets, and they all do an amazing job synching their movement with their puppets. Props to the people who designed those puppets too, me and my sister are dressing up as The Bad Idea Bears for halloween :D

  • i am sick of all your comments saying that they are not ventrilloquists

    i know they arnet ventrilloquists

    they are puppeteres

  • cool, the song from suxk to be me is awesome

  • i'm going to see it i can't :D eeeeee LOVE AVENUE Q

  • The original is the best. :3

  • i saw this on west end!!! it was awesome!!!!!

  • wot your not trying to say it's bad are you?

  • rob doesn't change his voice when he does princeton because when he isn't the puppet he sounds the same

  • Comment removed

  • Just like your spelling isnt 'Great' ?

  • They aren't trying to be ventriloquists.

  • they don't try to they are puppeteers! duh!

  • I know that. Someone said that they are fail ventriloquists. I told them that they aren't even ventriloquists.

Why the fuck did I get 6 thumbs down?

  • How is it possible to sing high notes or to sing at all without moving our lips.

  • What the fuck are you saying?

I said they aren't ventriloquists. Ventriloquists are people who can give the image of themselves not speaking, while they actually are, but for a puppet. A puppeteer is something completely different.

  • Did you watch the damn musical?

Idiot. If they tried to look like ventriloquists we wouldn't have their face expressions or any of the actual magic behind the performance.

  • HOLY CRAP. IS EVERYONE ON THE INTERNET A RETARD?

Did you READ my comment? Someone said that they were "bad ventriloquists". I replied, "They are not ventriloquists, they are pupeteers". What the fuck are you saying? Where in my sentence do I state that they were ventriloquists? NOWHERE.

People on the internet honestly need to read.

I fucking know they're puppeteers. They count as much as the puppets do because they have facial expressions and act as if they were the puppets.

    I. KNOW.

  • If you reply to a comment, you also get notified when people are replying to someone else's comment in the same thread -- they're not necessarily replying to you, especially if your comment is a reply. Chill.

  • I got to see this on brdwy with the original cast. I think it is funny how they cast people who look like the originals even though that really isn't important to the storyline. Great show!

  • i miss you rob!

  • wow! cool interview, rob is great! I'm glad he's doing so well. I haven't seen him in years, we'd done community theater together. We were in a production of "joseph and the A.T. dreamcoat". He's incredibly talented. I hope to see Ave. Q someday.

  • Rob McClure is a genius.

  • I still love the old cast, this one needs more "wiggly" on the puppets, need more expressions.... not experienced yet i think...

  • its just like Sesame Street...Except it doesnt suck............ 1 OF THESE THINGS JUST DOESN'T SUCK HERE!!!!!
