My great grand parents fled from Germany just before the holocaust and came to Canada. If the Holocaust never happened my father would'nt of met my mother and I wouldnt be here. Erm.. Thanks Hitler...
@JHandcock1111 I'm in a very similar situation, the difference being that I'm American and my great-grandfather actually died. It's like, by trying to prevent our existence he actually in some way caused it.
@Shockwave474 Lol! I didnt look at it that way, thats pretty ironic. And just think, if he hadnt done that other people instead of us would be here and a different plot line for the world would happen because some of the people that helped change it so much wouldnt have been here...
Wait, the shot at the end was in Boston (the Herald machine and distinctive plastic rubbish barrel give it away). I think that's the Park Plaza Hotel is in the background.
So, included in the title is "Thanks Hitler". The video is of an acceptance speech where the actor thanks people you would expect to be thanked... but wait a sec, he thanks Hitler too! Oh. wow. funny. my ribs are sore from laughing so hard. How on Earth could they have ever thought of such an inspired comedy bit? "I'd like to thanks bob, joe, susie, maria, satan, and jake." Ooooh nooooes! How did that bad name get mixed in with all the normal ones? Whacky hilarity hijinks!
@MrMegaWizard All the Kid's music was by a band called "Shadowy Men from a Shadowy Planet". I saw them in St. Louis in '92, awesome band. Get their album if you can still find it!
The newspaper box says "Boston Herald" on it because it contains copies of the Boston Herald newspaper. It's a newspaper that is sold both in Boston and outside of Boston.
if this had been an snl sketch it would have lasted 15 minutes. KitH knew how to get to a creative joke, and more importantly, how to end it quickly before it got stale or repetitive
@Youngmoon08 I honestly can't recall the last time I watched SNL and thought a single sketch was funny. It simply has the biggest financial backing I suppose. Great comedy shows like this come and go, but it seems the lame ones sometimes have trouble exiting the stage.
@Frothenbath1 the funny thing is, the guy who created snl created this, maybe because they were canadian or because they were only around 5 seasons i believe.and with the same cast so it never got the feeling of ok this show is going down hill. you cant deny early and certin later snl up til the mid 90's were really funny
@unholychunk Lorne Michaels didn't create them. He did discover them and give them a tv show, but they found each other and wrote their own material.

@JHandcock1111 Not that that justifies the Holocaust, but you're right, and I hope I'm useful in some way.
Shockwave474 4 months ago
@Shockwave474 Oh Im not trying to justify it, Im just saying like, imagine if the holocaust didnt happen, what could the world possibly be like then?
JHandcock1111 4 months ago
@JHandcock1111 I'm not accusing you of trying to justify the Holocaust—I believe in fact that you're the last person who'd try to do that.
