I did not meet God through religion. Actually, I hated God because of religion. Religion only limited me and restrained my heart, so I thought God did not care about me. I met God when He came down and touched my heart that was resting in hate. There I developed and eternal relationship with Him. I depend on him with faith and love. Through Him, I love everybody, the widow, the orphan. I call God my Friend, My Father. I know His Son because of My Relationship with Him.

The bball1989's (or whatever is name is) video is about many of the things you said. He was making the point that Christianity is not a set of religious hoops to jump through & obstacles to miss. There is so much more to it. It is a way to live one's life in which, although knowing you cannot do anything in the way of redemption of your soul - it is all Jesus' work, God has called you to live for him 24/7, not put on a fascade for Sunday worship & live a different way the rest of the week.

As Christians, because we can't do anything ourselves to gain salvation, obeying His word is how we show our love and thanks toward Him. Also, when we enter into a relationship with Him, He transforms us to be like Him, because He gives us a new heart. And Jesus is the most "decent" being there is.
This debate will never be solved because of how contradictory the Bible and any religion is. Don't be scared to question Jesus or any religion...you will NOT burn in hell. And if a God would let me burn in hell for eternity for not believing in him than I wouldn't want to follow him.

Residing in any sort of church IS religion.You are following the Bible, a holy text. The Baptist denomination is recognized by the World Council of Churches. One can be a Christian and not go to church, sure. All you have to do is read your Bible and pray. But that is hard for most. It helps to have fellows to lean on when things are tough versus just relying on yourself and God. Relationship with God is necessary, but in partnership with religion.

I dont think that the man in this video understood what the origonal video was talking about. The idea is not to get rid of religion but to revert back to the ideals that Jesus taught in the bible. Religion today has been so corrupted and changed by man. We have so many "churchs" today claiming to follow Christ but rject the bible and follow creeds or other man made works. What religion in the video is about the actions(going to church, praying, fasting, etc); relationship is the living life service/testimony(relying on HIM rather than on self, believing in HIM, loving him and for HIM, etc).

You are the one who needs to make sense of your argument.

Even Josephus, never met Jesus, never saw him and only heard stories from stories about some of his followers. If you believe there is a creator, and that he is flawless, and that he spoke to man, and that those conversations were recorded flawlessly, you still must deal with the deficiencies of language translation. Language is dynamic and imperfect. What was clear in the original may be fuzzy thousands of years later in a different language.

Residing in any sort of church IS religion.You are following the Bible, a holy text. The Baptist denomination is recognized by the World Council of Churches. One can be a Christian and not go to church, sure. All you have to do is read your Bible and pray. But that is hard for most. It helps to have fellows to lean on when things are tough versus just relying on yourself and God. Relationship with God is necessary, but in partnership with religion.

I dont think that the man in this video understood what the origonal video was talking about. The idea is not to get rid of religion but to revert back to the ideals that Jesus taught in the bible. What religion in the video is about the actions(going to church, praying, fasting, etc); relationship is the living life service/testimony(relying on HIM rather than on self, believing in HIM, loving him and for HIM, etc).
It's not throwing away religion, it's prioritizing relationship before religion. Kind of like believing first then act on the belief. It goes hand in hand.

So, no textbook, biography, nonfiction book, magazine, or written report is a reliable source to base any belief or thought on. Have you ever heard of Josephus? He wrote a lot about the Jewish history and was not a Christian. Many of his writings talk of Jesus or his teachings. Also, there are many logical and archeological facts to support christianity. You are the one who needs to make sense of your argument.

Even Josephus, never met Jesus, never saw him and only heard stories from stories about some of his followers. Not to mention that those passages where he even mentions followers of Jesus, were written many years after Jesus supposedly died and have evidence of being late first century christian extrapolations (counterfeit) passages.

Yeah this guy is WAY off base... and TOTALLY missed the point of that poem. And what on earth he thought he was accomplishing I can't figure out, all that dude did was talk about keeping centered on Jesus and your family and keeping them together. That's not religion buddy, that's a shortcut, bypassing religious tradition and giving you a direct connection to God. That's all dude was saying, that it's not a ritual, it's a relationship. Jews don't believe Jesus was the messiah. Jesus was sent to get rid of Jewish laws, so every one had a chance at the kingdom of heaven. God saw that the laws he had given the Jews weren't working because people where too evil so he sent Jesus Christ to redeem us. but a lot of the Jews didn't believe he was the son of God so they kept their ways. I know this is very blunt but I encourage you to read the Holy Bible especially the new testament, where it talks about Jesus time on Earth.
