  • now I feel guilty

  • keith richards is a big ol pirate. a pirate of the carribean

  • In his new book as usual he takes a big crap on Mick. This is why Mick is not Touring with him anymore. He has always been jealous that he wasn't able to sing lead and when you treat someone shitty that has only been with you for twenty plus years it's pretty stinking sad. I don't understand why Mick didn't dump his ass long time ago. Where would the Rolling Stones be without Mick? Just an better than average band. Read his new book!

  • Great. I've always thought people should more or less be happy someone wants to download their music...I wish people would do it for me! Happy the see Mr Richards shares the same opinion

  • I love Keith, but i think musicians get too precious about their music. Insane amounts of money and they still want more.

Music should be freed of all this legal Bollox!

If you do it for the money then you do it for the wrong reason.

  • I wish he'd straigthen out the pictures behind him.

  • Did you hear that Gene Simmons???

And THIS guy has got talent!

  • For the LOVE of the music brother

  • Love you, Keith!!

  • Then why did he and the Stones sue the Verve for Bittersweet Symphony if pirating means little to him?

  • @fumetti there is a huge difference between pirating and plagiarism

  • @fumetti theres a difference between piracy and creating and selling material that is either similar and or the same to that of another musician or band.

  • @fumetti It was Andrew Loog Oldham who sued Bittersweet Symphony, the Stones' former manager.

  • Almost his birthday now........Many more years in great health ...I second that wish

for Keith. Judging from pictures on National G. its happening.....

  • Hah! There's a Captain Teague action figure in the background. Kind of ironic...

  • Keith is a cool guy. He's zen. Just happy to be alive.

  • That's true respect for the love of music - "If it's worth pirating, it must be worth something". Spot on

  • Sure, he can say that after he's made his millions haha.

  • "If it's worth pirating it's worth something to someone."

No wonder I love you bud. Long live Keith! :-)

  • @tweedy151 people pirate lady gaga and that aint worth two shits

  • I am sitting here thinking he already has and will live forever.Thats what a legend is.Greatest Rock and Roll band ever.

  • he made his money touring and his albums were guaranteed payment by CBS, Virgin etc. He makes a deal for albums in advance. These guys were business savvy. They are close to billionaires but Ronny lost a lot of money fhrough stupidity and bad deals on the side.

  • @IdolHans their collective wealth probably touches a billion - or once did. However, no one Stone is worth anywhere near a billion.

  • @darkspeed62

Jagger and Keith are worth about .5 billion apiece, and the last time I checked Woody was bumming money off both of them so he cant be doing too hot. No clue how Charlie's doing...I swear to God, he could own the fucking world bank and he's so quiet we'd never know it. =/

  • @darkspeed62 I think you are right. David Bowie is supposedly worh $900 million. But I don't think that all was earned from music.

  • I know a guy who knows a guy who hung out with Keith for a morning while on vacation and he's just like this, just a nice fellow

  • @barkulator i know a guy who knows a guy who has a neighbour who used to work with a guy who knows a guy named Keith. couldn't play guitar worth a damn, though. had only one hand.

anyway, just riffing on ya......yeah, keith comes off as more down to earth than half the planet....affable guitar god.

  • @canadianroot Well I'd think it takes a certain agreeableness to be able to work with the same group of people for decades on end.

  • @barkulator yep, true. but then again, when you are the rolling stones, people want to work with you, and would take a bunch of shit (perhaps) to be able to get that kind of steady paycheque. i'm sure when he was strung out, he was difficult to get along with. keith and mick have had their issues. it would be hard to quarrel with charlie and bill, though, because they are as steady as they come.

  • Bill Wyman was the Rolling Stones' archivist.

It's too bad the Beatles' didn't have one.

  • so much respect for this guy

  • keith Richards es mi papa!

  • Keith is a wise man! i wish he would live for ever too!!!

  • i doubt the stones are too bothered about piracy anyway - they have the right attitude to approaching the music industry, by doing loads and loads of LIVE GIGS.

musicians really dont do enough live gigs these days...

  • keith rules. He's not like those self interested shit heads we have all arround us...

  • Great point.

  • I love him so much!

  • Well said!

  • Pure Keith.

    Trust a pro.

  • this guy kicks ass. i wish he would live forever

  • @blackjack9911 He's probably got that sorted out as well ^^

  • @blackjack9911 and he will

  • stones stuff is something people always gave their money for. thats something you have or not. thats something whether you like musik or not.

  • seeing as the record companies and agents, etc get the lion's share of royalties from screwing the artists, they're the ones who have to eat it when we download songs without paying. So more power to us. The bands can make the money on tours and merchandising if they play their cards right. The Stones were always broke up until the late 70's early eighties, and they survived long enough to recoup a hundred fold. Fuck the record companies. DIY is the wave of the future.

  • the only way to stop piracy is to literally stop making anything or just make EVERYTHING free

  • when you have enough money to live with your music give the rest for free!

  • Keith? are you coming back? no?

you guys we really need to get up some more video for this guy... geez, he gives and gives and gives, and gets Nothing back!

  • he looks like a pirate.

he suited the character he did on the 3rd pirates of the caribean movie.

    hes a legend, :]

  • Piracy? Like Capt. Jack Sparrow?

  • Yeah pirated like um...black music ....and... it's the rolling stones

  • He took "black" music to a new level.

  • true... and he pirated that.... like he said... it's been going on for thousands of years.

  • Great look on piracy.Seriously.

  • To be honost ive never really liked the rolling stones. but i gotta say hes got a great look on piracy, if only bands like metallica where the same then maybe theyd stop arguing and make some more records lol

  • Lol yeah, but how can like Metallica & such and

not the stones when they were part of the influence. There would be no Metallica if not for

    such as the stones, haha

  • Didn't he bitch and moan when the The Verve sampled a small piece of a Stones song in their hit "Bitter Sweet Symphony"?? I think he said something on the lines of "people say we should be honored that they're paying tribute to us. Honored?? They're ripping us off."

  • Pirating for enjoyment and pirating for money is a bit different no?

  • "Bittersweet"'s success was built on that sample-you bet the Stones should be renumerated.

  • It was a damn good answer. Please don't say "sure, he's a millionaire: what does he care" because people would use exactly the same argument if he was totally ranting about piracy.

  • Well it's easy to not care about pirating music when you're worth about 250 million dollares. For guys like billy joe shaver orleonard cohen it's different. THey've been around for over 30 yrs and have very little financially to show for it. I'm sure they care alot more about pirating music.

  • I'm glad you have access to their bank account. He's probably got more cash than you and enjoys his job more than you enjoy yours.

  • im sure he has more money thasn any of us and

I'm certain he enjoys his job more. What the hell is your point?

  • Yea but he isnt greedy were gunna sue you all mwahahah he could take tat approach

  • of course its not big deal to him, he's a millionaire.

  • exactly, he's only worth about 250 million dollares so he could care less if folks steal music. it's the up and coming bands, and the guys who've been around for 50 yrs and don't shit finacially to show for it that are really getting screwed by pirating music.Guess it all depends on which side of the coin you're coming from.

  • piracy is absolute bullshit, if a band is actually worth making pirate copies of, then they could make money by doing gigs all over the place! an if a band is only in it for the money they aint worth shit really anyway.

  • So are Metallica, but they acted like it was a big deal.

  • A very nice answer. He is cool about everything, this man.

  • yargh

  • It's hard to put a price or value on music, it use to be you were paying for the oject, the CD, so they were all prtty much the same price, but I like the way keith puts it, if it's worth pirating, it's worth something to someone.

  • Is Keith starting to look more like Joe Walsh - or is it the other way around?

  • Legend is that one day they will become one and the same and merge into one super being.

  • Keith took the question different when he was asked about piracy he was thinking about Live Albums/Live Taping/Bootlegging aka Unrealeased material that isn't really illegal to give away and download as long as you dont sell. The person asking the question was thinking about like Downloading officially released stuff off of lime wire or something. I collect live tapes :) and it's not illegal in fact some bands incourage it.

  • ✈ ПП

    ❁П

  • Im a pirate.

  • AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGG

  • That's an interesting perspective, but I don't blame bands like Metallica for thinking otherwise.

  • I want the jack sparrow miniature

  • Glad he dressed like a Pirate to answer this.

  • hahahaha. That one made me chuckle man.

  • he doesnt care about the piracy...because a)he is not a greedy b****rd plus he is f*** loaded with cash :D

  • You are bigger and better than The Beatles. Anyone who does not know your LIVE work may not fully appreciate your greatness.

  • no one is better than the beatles

  • Hi. I'm 15. I love Rolling Stones. That's all I wanted to say.

  • LIAR! TOU'RE FUCKING 27!

  • Thank you, that was a insightful response.

  • you're incredible, man!

  • keath rules

  • YOU TWO ARE THE SEXIEST MEN ALIVE

  • i know even though hes 64!! it doesnt matter at all!!! hes still cute!!

  • omg! im first to comment!! i love the big captain teague on the self!! if its worth piraeting its worth something!! so true keef!!

  • What a disgrace when you care more about getting the first comment than telling how you feel about the Stones.

  • u want to know what i think about the stones?

they are the greatest band in the universe!! i am sorry it was just cool because maybe if there are fewer comments they might answer me back!!!!
