  • First world problems

  • i cant believe people stopped listening,a year, but thanks emilyrl

  • Matthew Good should be, well, I can't even explain how phenomenally huge and famous he should be worldwide. But strangely, and selfishly, I don't want him to be. I live in the southern states and I feel unique and different to listen to someone who isn't so commercial and known. It's like his music is MINE here, and isn't common and overplayed. I would easily trade all that for him to come play here though.

  • I TOTALLY understand you and have pondered over the same thing a LOT. I think his music is such genius I don't know why he isn't so recognized and then yeah, I get a bit selfish and want to keep it to myself, and not have him become too widely known. I don't think he wants to be very widely known though. I share him with every new friend I meet around the world. So far I've started a little Aussie following for him lol.

  • @XantinovaX That is exactlly what I try to do. I try to introduce all of my friends to a great artist like Matthew Good. All of my friends listen to candy poppie music that is so shitty and they need to start listening to real music and to a musical genious like MGB. He is amazing.

  • @optrix77 I totally agree cause I feel special to know that none of my friends know MGB. Me and my dad are huge fans of him because he plays real music and it isnt all about the sound but it sounds great to begin with. It's about the meaning and the message and all of his songs are filled with emotion and he must have put alot of effort and it pays off. To me he is like the Beatles but I think he is wayyy better:)

  • this song is why Matthew is so fuckin good,,,,,havent found anyone better than him yet.....probably wont ....Trez

  • This really is one of his best songs... defenitely the best one on that album... I remember when I let the album play and discovered that... it was a very pleasant surprise! :D

  • I like to think this is.. (was). a special song for the Real fans of Matt Good.

It is ironically, .. one of his very best songs.

  • in my oppinion is more of a play on his life rather then some poltical or post modern poetic work.... I feel some type of lost love, etc which is what most of these unrealised songs are about.. failed relationships, broken heart, etc

  • Hospital Music is more of a "play on his life" than this song.

  • i agree its about himself but i dont think it has anything to do with love. I think it's a realization of where things fit, the meaningful and mundane. and following that, a search for the unattainable. its an antiwar ballad of futility. in my opinion anyway. its truly a piece of multi-layered brilliance.

  • Eerily beautiful is my classification of this piece. Seems like a postmodern commentary on the cycles and evolutions human cultures and violence... not a judgement, but a commentary. I see the omissions of the omen to be an grand picture poetic work... but now I'm just subjecting the language of a postmodern song. Easily, the best Matthew Good song ever.

  • really interesting take. puts the song in a totally different light. love it.

  • Love the second verse of this song. "you and me we were never here/ you and we we were not that clear" may as well be describing the human race a million years from now.

  • i think we may be matthew good soul mates..lol

    those are wonderful selections

  • One of the greatest musicians to ever walk this earth.. singing another perfect song. Thank you

  • i'd also like to suggest prime time deliverance to add to that great list :)

  • if anybody has an info on how i can get my hands on a kareoke/instrumental version of "omissions of the omen" I would owe you my life!! I'd really like to do a demo remake of this song!! thanks <3 xo

  • sorry emilyrl, wasn't trying to offend anyone..i've enjoyed all the music you have posted up, thank you.

  • I just didn't understand what brought on that rant. There is no need to apologize to me.

  • @emilyrl - I don't understand why it would matter to you regardless? He or she has every right to voice whatever they want to say. Perhaps listening to this song brought that thought to his/her mind and subsequently he/she voiced it. The real unnecessary part of the whole exchange was your comment.

  • @05welchie Thank you for your opinion, I appreciate your two cents. Really.

  • he doesn't write this stuff just to entertain people, he writes what goes on in his head..be it past or present demons, politics or poison, which i guess could be one in the same. either way, he writes to get a message across, to open peoples eyes away from the superficialness and selfishness in which our planet has sadly all but succumbed to. he is brilliant, he struggles like you and i, and he is the voice for words and thoughts many of us cannot speak. he goes so much deeper than many realise

  • Yeah, thanks for the lesson pal - it wasn't really necessary though.

  • @leahjean78 you have wonderfully understood the exact reason he does what he does. like him, for saying such things and telling truth...you are as well, wonderful! thank you for saying such a thing

  • I love the detached and cryptic bleakness of this song. Good needs to write more songs like these.

  • OMFG, GORGEOUS, PERFECT!! Thank you ever so much!!!!

  • Alright! :) I'm glad you enjoy the song!

    Matt Good Is A God!!!

  • thankyou. i appreciate this more than id appreciate it if i can talk with another matt good fan becasue i tihnk you have a different preception of things you might understand my problems or my thoughts anything id appreciate it.

  • Wicked hidden Gem!!

  • this song is great
