  • Natasha, I just wanted to tell you that I think you're so naturally beautiful inside and out. I feel like I can almost picture what a diet in Eden must have been like watching your videos. As a person who recovered from depression and eating disorder, your videos are part of my therapy in helping me build healthier relationships to food and nature/environment. I'm not as strong as you are, for I have big weaknesses for soups and occasional ginger candies. But I won't give up. Hugs

  • It has been six months since I have eaten any form of processed sugar like candy and white rice. Instead around 2:00pm I eat a little bit of sweet potato and it gives me the same feeling of well being that I use to get from eating a bag of mm's. Except I feel much healthier now and my heart rate does not increase after eating processed sugar.

  • @MrAusty I don't think the sugars in fruits are a problem, because the fruits also contain fiber. As mentioned in another Youtube video, "When God packaged the poison, he packaged the antidote with it." However, this principle obviously does not apply if you juice your fruits. In other words, AVOID FRUIT JUICES, EVEN IF THEY HAVE NO ADDED SWEETENERS!!

  • @EyeWearMySunglasses I'm pretty sure concentrated carrot and beet juices aren't that good either, since those vegetables contain a relatively high amount of sugar compared to other veggies.

  • green smothies really helped, trust me im a hypoglicemic, in other words, extremly addicted and sensitive to sugar. drink raw seaseme seed milk, which is etremly high in calcium..becasue sugar addictions mean your body needs calcuim, which is sweet in nature

  • I quit alcohol about 14 months ago and have slowly built up a sugar addiction over this time that seems almost as bad as the alcohol although not quite as destructive to other people I suppse. I have quit my "sugar" - mainly in the forms of mint choc chip icecream and Ghirodelli milk choc bits - daily ! sometimes hourly! but only to try to keep the weight off on the treadmil (which I still have done) but what a rat race. Anyway, after this video which is wonderful - btw - I plan to do it again

  • Great video! I believe she's talking about not eating high glycemic foods. Low glycemic foods like most fruits are GOOD for you in moderation as well. It's the refined white sugar that is super addictive :)

  • You are so BANG ON! The only thing I would add is that there are 12 step groups that specifically support sugar-free diets... Recovery From Food Addiction, Food Addicts Anonymous, and Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous - three that spring to mind.

  • I believe sugar addiction for a lot of people is linked to traumatic experiences. Just like a majority of people who turn to drugs who have gone through things, sugar is another of coping but the trap is the sugar addiction is been there since childhood and is often not recognised as being addiction like drugs etc, so by the time sugar addicts become adults in a way its embedded into them and is thought of normal in society.

  • Thanks for this! I went raw in the past, and All my cravings stopped. I've decided to give up ALL processed foods which have tons of sugar and salt! So I'm doing what you said, do wholefoods. I used to eat tons of fiber1 bars, and they had me craving sugar all day, very bad. We all need to stop it with this damn sugar, just stop. And I loved that you "sugar coated" nothing. Great video, just gotta stop eating this poison.

  • According to Dr Brian Clement, it is the same as glucose (or any plant base fructose, or even honey). He said the only sweetener that doesn't have an impact on blood sugar is stevia. I think yucon don't alter blood sugar either.
