@tortured xeno, you don't know what you're talking about... the high notes are simply in his head voice. @rmtenorlirico, he is a tenor, how can you say he's a baritone when you call yourself a tenor? you should know what a tenor sounds like.
He sounds like a baritone and teacher rather than fix it encourages him to work with serious weight in the low registrer, this type of technique is so old no longer in use, not for teachers, teachers with good techniques like Kiri Te Kanawa for exemple.
If he continues to force both in serious, if it is really a tenor, he can not reach high notes of a F, a G or an A at best. But B, C or an D like usually is asked in tenor repertoire he do not do it!
Yes, indeed he was, in fact all his technique as he said, was grounded in the Bel Canto Scholl.
Now by chance you'll tell me that he also had a heavy voice, and that this did not prevent him from being a tenor who played a repertoire of bel canto?
Wait, so you're slamming on bel canto and then confirming my notion that great Pavarotti was a bel canto singer himself? And then I don't understand the rest of what you said. Non capisco, amico.
I was trained by a classical teacher 20 years ago so I know most of the concepts and terminology.
I an always on the look out for more information about singing and if it can come from a respected maestro I'll take it.
Its quite easy to adapt classical techniques to Rock singing. They have more in common than uncommon. Classical technique is a lot of how you sing it but the core basics of breathing and placement are very similar.
hello Maestro, I am Winston Travasso from India and i am a tenor. I am training since i was 17 and i want to make a carreer in belcanto singing. I an very serious about making my carreer in singin. Please help me out... I am a talented singer and a soloist in my choir. I have sung in operas and oratorios in chorus. Please help me out...
I really enjoyed watching the video i want to point out some things i noticed but it would just be up for debate because its youtube. but you can almost hear the break from his head voice to chest register but really impressive sound otherwise
To the Opera lovers: thank you very much for your comments THE YOUNG TENOR "Fabio De Benedetto" is improving every day and next week we will pubblish more videos... He is doing very well and incredible "future" talent... He's still a young Student
Watch the students mouth when he is on one sustained vowel, he starts with a little space, opens for a louder dynamic and chokes the vowel short at the end. In my opinion that is a mistake. (it could be due to my lack of experience with opera). Also the Eh and Ee vowels bother me at the beginning. Other than those small errors he is an incredibly talented vocalist.
Hello Dear Maestro. I wonder if it is possible to supply undertitles for your lessons. I think they contain a treasurevault of good advise and unfortunatly I don't speak Italian :s
i would love to have some subs here :( i want to understand what the theacher is teaching....

Oh my how I wish I had the power behind my notes as you do, dear Maestro you truly have a gift, as do your students

This is a good voice, but there is very little subtlety or dynamics used in these lessons which is a little concerning. I hope he has a great career

It's nice to see someone learning it with the viewer as well. Great content.

Don't you think that because the maestro is a spinto (heavyweight) tenor, his students also are adding a lot of weight?
rsgracey 1 year ago
I know i already asked a question in your other video, but isn't bel canto about singing lyrically and not heavily? I don't see much of that here.

He sounds pretty good, but the high note sounds a bit pushed/yelled.

That teacher looks totally BA with that cape-like object draped over his shoulders. His appearance reminds me of my uncle in Perú.

@rmtenorlirico Um, wasn't Pavarotti, one of the greatest voices of this century, a bel canto singer himself?

You mean that you can actually glean information from a classical technique and incorporate it into your rock training?
