Funny, but one of the best Christian preachers in my area in is a lesbian with a partner and everything. In fact, even the most conservative of parishioners think she is wonderful lady and prefer her sermons over those of straight preachers. I don't think there's anything wrong with Miss Cothran leaving the lesbian lifestyle if she was unhappy in it, but I think it was wrong of her to say that all homosexuals are unhappy and on bad terms with God.

Yes, my girlfriend and I go out to parties or clubs occasionally, and Pride once a year, but most of the time, we do simple things that make us happy. We sit in coffee shops for hours, talking together. Saying there's a gay "lifestyle" is moronic. We do things apart from cavort naked in Pride parades, y'know. I help raise my brother and sister, I get good grades at university and I'm writing a novel. I am proud of who I am. If I had to be closeted again, I would be completely miserable.

You're apparently hesitant, or afraid, to answer the question raised about Jesus' definition of marriage, since that might just open the door to the fact He in no way endorses homosexual "marriage", which would then lead to the possibility that He also upholds the moral law from the Old Testament and condemns homosexuality.

It's my belief that anyone who is a quote 'ex-gay' was so hung-up at a given point, that they would try anything to convince themselves that they really weren’t gay. Yes, my friend, but only if you BELIEVE in Christianity. I do not. I cannot conceive of a God who would condemn you simply because you didn't believe in Jesus. If that were true, then 2/3 of the world would not get into heaven, because only 1/3 of the world is Christian.
I'm not an atheist. I DO believe there is a higher power. But, I do not believe that this "Great One" has a specific religion or church. And I am content knowing that a loving God wants ALL of his children back.

Funny, but one of the best Christian preachers in my area in is a lesbian with a partner and everything. In fact, even the most conservative of parishioners think she is wonderful lady and prefer her sermons over those of straight preachers. I don't think there's anything wrong with Miss Cothran leaving the lesbian lifestyle if she was unhappy in it, but I think it was wrong of her to say that all homosexuals are unhappy and on bad terms with God.

Yes, my girlfriend and I go out to parties or clubs occasionally, and Pride once a year, but most of the time, we do simple things that make us happy. We sit in coffee shops for hours, talking together. Saying there's a gay "lifestyle" is moronic. We do things apart from cavort naked in Pride parades, y'know. I respect Ms. Cothran's right to live her life the way she wants, but I don't agree with your message. Loving women is a deep, intrinsic part of who I am. I am madly in love with my beautiful girlfriend, who is one of the smartest people I've ever met. She fills my life with happiness, and I'd like to think I do the same for her.

The Bible does speak directly against homosexuality..so for those who think that it is ok to live a "Christian" lifestyle and be gay is completely against what you say you believe. However, everyone has their own struggles and to each is own. It is all a matter of the heart, and no one can judge that accept for Christ.

You're apparently hesitant, or afraid, to answer the question raised about Jesus' definition of marriage, since that might just open the door to the fact He in no way endorses homosexual "marriage", which would then lead to the possibility that He also upholds the moral law from the Old Testament and condemns homosexuality.
I guess it's easier to live with a sin that brings pleasure than to face up to the words Jesus himself spoke. As with homosexuality, it's your choice to make.

Obviously, you choose to ignore those parts of Scripture that speak to sins you enjoy. Paul is the homosexual's bogeyman because he speaks the truth.
