Everyone should be happy that Movits! was on the Colbert Report. It will help their career so much. And it isn't like it is just opening the band up for Americans, people around the world watch the Colbert Report. I'm sure they are happy that they were able to get their music out there.
And besides, music isn't about language. Music is one of the only things in the world that defies race, religion, home, etc.
Actually I did, but I knew Wolf Parade long before they ever hit the radio and Im sure Land of the Loops and Lemon Jelly arent familiar to you either. Some people like music enough to seek out stuff that isnt in literally constant rotation on the radio. Im not saying I dont listen to radio, but stations beat songs to death in less than a week. In short, fuck you and your false assumption. Not to mention its the "colbert bump" comments I was bothered by, not Movits' exposure. Youre an idiot.
This is swedish, not norwegian HAHAHAHA.Think its funny when u americans like this music, YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE SINGING?!?! ;S , jäkla fjoller ;)
its not what theyre saying sometimes...sometimes its just the music. thats like aerosmith in japan, paul mccartney in red square moscow... its just the music
I was talking about the Kaizers Orchestra who are Norwegian. The point was you don't have to know the language to enjoy it. To automatically dismiss music in a language you don't know is closeminded and narrow. To suggest there preliminary requirements to meet before you are allowed to enjoy something is elitist.
If they were singing about not being understood then it would be ironic, but I doubt that's the content of their lyrics.

Like you knew of them before Colbert? I highly doubt anybody living in the US knew about them before Colbert Report.

I'm sure that's true, but why is that an issue?

You don't need them to enjoy it. I've almost all of Kaizers Orchestra's music and I don't speak lick of Norwegian.
Though I have learned how to say "hell" in Norwegian since I started listening to them.
