Great take on a R&B classic..this idea of "classical" musicians not playing "classic" pop is so strange. The great thing about being American is our ability to live and thrive in our diversity. Linda Rondstat made many a Motown tune in C&W style, and Whitney's greatest hit is a Dolly Parton song! Ain't it great livin' in the USA!

There's a lot I like in what's done here, but I think the de-emphasis of the original compelling beat leaves a bit of it slightly ungrounded. With four hands, I'd expect both a complex bassline and the interesting melodic treatment in the tenor and treble. The bass rhythm was nearly inescapbly danceable in the original and is all but nonexistent in this arrangement.

@RockyBalboa211 Perhaps you are right. I just didn't dig this, and my background is in music. BTW, I am not one of the thumbs down, because this definitely is NOT a thumbs down performance. It's a fantastic performance and worth in its own right. The arrangement just didn't didn't strike me.
