Robbie Williams does a jazzy cool rendition of this great song. I like it but i think Kevin Spacey & the great Bobby Darin versions were better . Long live the songs of Bobby's !
@Phoney1Bone bobby darin didn't, charles trenet " le fou chantant" wrote it in 1946 in a train between Toulouse and Narbonne in the south of FRANCE. Since, most of 2000 peoples have sing this song, Darin is one of us (USA adaptation). Maybe you just ear the copy of Darin. Just try the original, less swing but most emotional.
@Fallout3Cribs bobby darin died in december 1973, he done his version in 1959-60, it was a cover of the french track "la mer" by Charles Trenet originally done in 1946, the original, by Trenet, was played at my fathers funeral who passed on the 9th of sept 2010. My dad loved the original but said this one was not far behind.
@MOHOJO12 the original album version is about 29 minutes. but there's a big pause between the mean song and the additional part. and the additional part starts at about 15 or so. i'm sorry ;)
This is better than Bobby Darin. Bobby tried too hard to swing, it wasn't natural. anyone who doesn't agree with me is stupid. And retarded. And gay. Or all three.
@VivaLaTrumpet really? because I have a different opinion from you? So anyone who doesn't agree with you is an ignoramus? yeah, that makes sense. Darrin did his "jazzy" version which was popular. It was kind of corny. I like the original better. Sue me.
but Bioshock made this song much more popular amongst teenagers..like me i am a teen and i never heard this song before and now i cant stop listening to it...
@imtech101 Maybe you are just a little more old fashion than I am. Reason I perfer this version is because I heard it first. Back in 2003, when I saw Finding Nemo. Robbie Williams' version is in the credits.
yeah i like this song alot
good thing bioshock brought me here

I love this! Just heard it. His sense of swing is easier and more natural than Darin, he's not trying so hard to swing, he just does it. Great post.
