Is it alright? we dropped ours a few time from a quarter of the height and we bent a few things up. Since then we have thick foam pads beneath everything.

Actually it is not alright, one of the motor's inner gear was completely ruined by the fall, and a few more things were bent too. But we take it as easy as possible and we hope that shortly we will have some new motors.

You could always take that off, there is no rule stating that you have to use the built in gear box. It isn't considered modifying the motor because that isn't the motor.

@Team3637 We were pretty sure that's exactly what modifying the motor means, since the gear is a physical part of it and sits inside it.

Anyway we dicided not to take the risk of not passing an inspection and simply ordered a new motor.
