Lynch is far and above so many other guitarist and on many different levels. Pilson is mega talented and blows most other bassist away and for many reasons, reasons that most have not a clue about. This entire line up for Dokken was magical. It is unfortunate they didn't prevail. Check out Lynch/Pilson "Wicked Underground" if you have yet. Post Dokken album. AWESOME!

These guys were better than Poison, Skid Row, Warrant, and Bon Jovi, in my opinion. The album this was from came out before Puppets, So Far So Good, and Reign in Blood. As far as Reign In Blood, I can't listen to that no singing fuck, Tom Araya. He sounded like shit back then and still does. I learned that heavier and faster doesn't always mean better. Besides, Metallica's Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets, and Megadeth's Peace Sells were/are far better than anything Slayer did. Sorry, jmo.
@glynnracing79 To be honest, I probably shouldn't have lumped Skid in with the other 3 bands, there were a lot heavier than them. I guess it's just that I still enjoy listening to Dokken more than the others and Lynch was a mad man on lead on those albums! As far as Skid goes, I still have my copy of Sub-Human Race and I still have my copy of the Slave To The Grind cassette tape, the version that had "Get The Fuck Out" on it, before those "watch dogs" made Atlantic take it off! Man, a great tape
@glynnracing79 Skid Row was one of the best bands to come out in the late 80's and got lumped in with some others as a hair band, which they weren't, imo. We all wore out the first Skid Row album, the "Slave" came out and it was even heavier. I'd bet if they had came out in the early 80's, like the Crue, Ratt, and a few others, they'd have been even bigger than they were. By the time of "Slave" though, it was Grunge's time, unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your opinion, ha!

Lynch is the "missing link" if you will between the old and new styles. My personal favorite.And if I could only go back to 1987 and see another performance.......

Wow this takes me back! Lynch's live music was incredible, you never quite knew how he was going to mix it up. Best thing they did was take the guitar away from Don and let George cut loose!

I kind of aggree. The trick is George recorded everything he did so if he screws up and plays somethiong cool , he puts it in a song. He tries to duplicate it live but it doesnt happen. He reminds me of all the dudes I jammed with back then. Came up with cool shit but didnt know how they did it.

I kind of aggree. The trick is George recorded everything he did so if he screws up and plays somethiong cool , he puts it in a song. He tries to duplicate it live but it doesnt happen. He reminds me of all the dudes I jammed with back then. Came up with cool shit but didnt know how they did it.

Well the talent is there as far as i can see, Don Dokken is a more than capable singer, George lynch is a genius guitar player, I really cannot see the lack of talent, it depends on you're musical taste if you don't like Dokken's style than thats fine.

There would'nt be a Buckethead without someone like Lynch paving the way for him. Besides another '80's guitar hero surpasses Buckethead in all ways. Paul Gilbert. "The bass player" is Jeff Pilson. Although I never really wore typical '80's stuff in the day, those "gay" boot's attracted more young women than a chicken bucket hat

To me this is one of George Lynch's best solo's. He has so much passion. I believe this was a time in his carreer where he was at his best. On that note iI will say I have noticed since he stopped concentrating on Bodybuilding, and has been playing more..I am starting to see that old Lynch that I missed so much. He is on Tour with Paul Gilbert and Richie Kotzen.. I believe he will learn while on tour with them.. An I believe after that tour he will Be Back!!!!!!!
