I think rhythmic is the hardest. Like they push themselves to be insanely flexible. If you watch there training you would understand... They start young, at about 4-5 I think. Then train 8hrs a day, with a strict diet. This is really harder:)
stretch every single day, for at least an hour if not more. They probably stretch a total of three hours a day. I do an hour stretch in the morning, an hour in the afternoon and an hour at night. It's hard but worth it.
what time do you wake up ...what about school if you're in school any ideas ...? it's painful...but i've been doing it for a while...and when i don't ..i get mad that i forgot to do it because i feel like my flexibility decreases when i dont stretch ..i constantly think about it
it does decrease if you don't stretch everyday. I wake up at 7 but I am in college, so i have later classes, when i was younger school started early so i woke up at 5:30, then stretched after school, and then before bed. Unless i had gym that day then I stretched during class.
Well, take one arm, and fling it over your shoulder and just let it dangle there. Then, take your other arm, and bring it around your side and try to touch hands. I can't do that, but pretty much everybody I know can with relative ease.
Hella lot more flexible than me, in any case. (Is about as flexible as a rock. Y'know that thing where people link their hands behind their back? I'm missing about a good foot between my fingertips when I try).
as someone whos done both rhythmic and artistic gymnastics: rhythmic is MUCH tougher. you have no idea how hard you have to train to get that good. she makes it look easy cus shes AMAZING, but rhythmic gymnastics takes flexibility, strength, control, as well as hand eye coordination. try actually doing rhythmic before saying its not a sport/gymnastics/hard.
People show some respect this is actually one of the greatest ever, Elena Vitrichenko.
And for those saying it's not a sport: I'm SURE your opinion is waaaay more correct than that of the INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMITTEE: because RG is actually an olympic sport!
I think it is really rude & mean of some of you people saying that this isn't even gymnastics. Give them some credit coz u have no idea how hard it is and how much dedication is needed for RG.
why the heck do you guys care about the song lol. but yeah...i don't consider gymnastics. i think it's just a bunch of gumbies that can bend anyway they want and have had lots of dance classes. cuz gymnastics is like tumbling and stuff and there was none of that.
gymastics isn't classified by tumbling; artistic gymnastics is maybe, but there are many different types. Tht was rhythmic gymnastics, and you will find that USAG, (and most gymnasts) will classify that as gymnastics, and I think that their opinion may carry a little more weight.
@jadeepoooo there are two types of gymnastics. rhythmic gymnastics which concentrates on flexability and dance. the second type of gymnastics is artistic. this involves beam, bars, floor and vault. I do artistic gymnastics and we do flips and turns and fly around on the bars. so there is actually two types :)
I hope you understand that because rhythmic gymnastics is still concidered gymnastics.
I prefer the rhythmic, personally. Ironically, it leaves more room for personal expression,ie 'art'. 'Artistic gym' seems to involve getting in as many physically impressive moves as you can, at the expense of artistic integrity. Which is fine, if you prefer a firm line between art and sport.
I'd just like to say that was a very elegant and flawless performance. You sure are flexible, very clever routine. I enjoyed it very much. Go Gymnastics!
I'm in level 6 :3

Well, it certainly doesn't involve strength. Or brains. Or cunning. Or any other quality that I can think of.
Ya need some amount of flexibility to do that.

ok i get that rythmic gymnastics is hard
i mean rythmic and artistic are both hard
like i think that if u put me out there with a ribbon then id fall on my butt
but also if u put a rythmic gymnast on bars thed fall on there butt to
so i really dont think u can say ones harder then the other
whitney7576 5 years ago
It's more that people discount it as a sport :| Not that it's harder.
