During the Volta tour, Bjork had to deal with a problem with nerves, so she had to hire a vocal trainer that helped her improve and regain her confidence in her voice... I think that by the end of Volta, Bjork's voice was better and more stable that during the Vespertine era... Although, the difference is just so little because she has been an incredible singer and one of the best of our generation, if you ask me.
it is a timeless piece of art. far more something ancient about love. something that trancends through the centuries about that matter. those people who suffered within their hearts, will likely get the point and motion of this piece of art.
At first I was like, aw, Bjork's voice isn't as good. Then I realized it's just reverb-less, and I'm used to the produced stuff on the album. I got used to it, and was able to bask fully in the natural resonance of her voice. She uses the room for reverb, anyway, if you'll notice.
Me, too. Bjork makes me smile so much! :D I just want to give her a hug, she's so adorable.
I love this song so much. I don't get to see my boyfriend often, so I can relate to the lyrics. The music is so serene, intoxicating and gorgeous. How does she do it? I think she's an alien with superpowers. lol! <3
How long ago was this? I wish she sang this dynamically today. Lately she's been a bit dry. I'll take the thumbs down, but THIS VIDEO shows how I always want to hear Bjork. Dynamic and free.
well i love bjork everything she does, but volta tour is the last one of my fave bjork tours, not because of her voice, she is always amazing, it was because the melodies changed =(, i think its cool she changes and dont repeat stuff, but i like the most vespertine tour and greatest hits tour
She had a flue and it effected her voice ofcorse during the Voltatour, I mean the studio album Volta vocal efforts are good. But as Björk said herself, she could have put more time on that project, but she was hungry for touring so she didn't.
I'm 95% sure this was eight years ago, since Vespertine was released around 2001.
Considering how long she's been singing, I can understand why she might sound dry. It's amazing that she could have a utopian voice without any training.

her voice is so incredibly LOUD! how does she do it, doesnt her throat hurt?
striderivan 1 year ago
Well there's this thing called confidence, it's a big factor in how loud you can project your voice. Apparently she's got a lot of it.
