  • wie schlecht ist das denn ?

  • @izerf1978 I dont understand german, but I think you said "how bad is that?" How bad is what?

  • hey man, thanks for this I am about to buy one. one question if i may.

can i save different trips for next time. (went to certain town, then library, etc, etc ?

need about 10 trips saved, would like to repeat one later. appreciate any help

  • yes, you can save it to favourites.

  • hey is this device worth buying or should i consider Garmin. i am confused b/c garmin seems to get all the top honors

  • Do your own rersearch, depending on where you live. They say that TT owrks better in europe and Garmin in America because of the different satelites used.

  • My 730 has a dark screen and i cant see anything. I can still hear the lady talking but i cant see nothing.

    Can you help?

  • Go to 'safety preferences' and press 'done' until you reach 'turn off map display' then select 'never' Hope this helps.

  • You can still access FM transmitting. You do it by adding it to the quick start menu. Go to preferences----->quick start menu and add the fm transmitting option. Then it will be available via the quick start. Still only transmits voice intructions when you are listening to music via the TomTom. You can get round this by recording a silent mp3 and putting it on repeat. Bit of a faff but it works.

  • Hi i am from Australia ... do we get the IQ route maps pre installed or do i have to purchase it separately? Thanks

  • In the UK its pre installed. Also it's an ongoing thing every time you plug your TT into your internet connected PC.

  • I have tried mine today and thankfully it still works!

I understand that this has been done because transmitting on an unallocated radio channel flouts the UK radio transmission laws. And the British government borught it to the attention of TomTom.

  • if you keep old map and old application you can retain FM Transmitting but if you upgrade you lose it. This means you can have FM transmitting but can't get map updates or IQ routes.

And new purchasers who think they will get this feature are in for a surprise when they open the box and power on the unit. New purchasers of TomTom go series are the ones blatantly lied to and in my mind robbed by TomTom for a promised feature that is not delivered.

  • Hold on a second Lacient, I regularly update my TT on a daily basis almost with mapshare (IQ) but I haven't lost the FM facility. I'm not sure which country you hail from ,but directions were never an option via FM. We had the option of music. There is a line-out to your radio or bluetooth for directions, which is different.

  • WARNING:

Shoppers: TomTom's no longer offer FM transmitting of voice instruction due to laws in Europe they have DISABLED FM Transmitting for the entire world.

Existing Go 730 users: if you perform the necessary firmware update above 8.01 you will LOSE FM transmitting of voice instruction. TomTom has disabled this feature for the entire world. Garmin, took a much more logical approach and only disabled it in Hungary and Poland (the two countries that ban the FM tranmission).

  • Absolutely true. lacient, please let me know if TT downloads this firmware automatically through TT home. I do not want it.

  • I can't believe TomTom has disabled this features and has left all its Go 730 and Go 930 users to hang out to dry.

And, you could have purchased the lower unit model without the transmitter and saved the money. I think there should be a class-action lawsuit brought against TomTom for advertising the feature that doesn't exist and removing it without disclaimer or warning. After all TomTom we PAID for this feature.

  • im definitly goin to complain to tomtom..cuz i paid $150 more .....

  • One more thing, my tom tom only took like 5 pictures and it said it was full. I just got the thing and have nothing on it. I put the pictures in my picture folder. What am i doing wrong(question mark)

  • Always use an expansion card (SD card) to store pictures. Don't use the internal memory. The maps take up the majority of the internal memory. Soon you will find that you cannot update if the memory is ful.Regards.

  • SETTING PASSWORD

    1. Connect your device to PC TomTOm HOME will start.

    2. Click "Operate my device" in the main menu of TomTom HOME

    3. Click "change preferences" on the image of your device shown in HOME

    4. Click "set owner" Now you can set a 4 digit password for your device.

  • Thanks alot man, that did the trick! I did a lot of other things as well. Thanks again for the vid and the answer.

  • Thanks alot for the video. I just bought one, im still trying to figure out how to set my pass-code like you have. Perhaps you can tell me how I may do so(Question mark)
