I'm all for nuclear power. But where do you put the radioactive waste? In the salt mines to lie rotting for 10,000 years, the ocean floor to destroy the eco system there. So why use it? Duh...Solar power, hydrogen power, coal, propane are the cleaner alternatives. No nukes no nukes no nukes no nukes no nukes no nukes
I learned about the meltdown after I was interogated and asked the questionWhy are you radioactive?just after the war started. I speculated that maybe the UCLA reactor leaked, but little did I know at the time that my childhood in Malibu, down hill from S.R.E. At SSFL, was the cause. There seems to be a hidden epidemological study underway, with at least one subject having a RFID implanted forpatient identification. Lucky me...They used to burn toxic waste in a open pit with a shotgun there.
I lived with my parents in the knolls on Black Canyon Rd. from 1968 to around 1977. My mom died from cancer in 1983. I presently have 3 or 4 tumors on my spine, one on my and another belly and another on my left tricep. The tumors on my back I was told not to worry about... I havent had the others looked at yet.. Wow, I wonder if Rocketdyne caused these problems of mine.
Awesome video! Governor, please sign SB990 to insure that this horrific chemical / nuclear mess gets cleaned-up. Please, do not force the people of California to continue to pay with their health and the health of their children while Boing reneges on its promise to cleanup this mess.
c'mon CSUN students...this is right by you. Dare to educate yourself and write a paper about the clean up of the Santa Susana Field Lab up on the hill.
Interesting slides, negative points for choosing linkin park to support a serious issue.
