The country has been torn by war and they don't have much training facilities that I or any other person would consider decent enough. Their morale was destroyed because they had some relatives pass away days before their games, some even HOURS prior to the games, yet they managed to win the Asian cup.

This is embarrasing for Australia... not because of the quality of the Iraq national team (who i think are quite underated, much better than people think) but because of how poorly we played.that is some of the worst defending ive seen in a while from a national team.Lucas Neil is useless, he always seems to screw up.and the first goal? where the hell was the man marking?? Even junior teams know how to defend better than that.
Anyway well done to Iraq for going on to win the tournament.

I will gladly admit Iraq were the much better team on the day and while Iraq were very much in form for this tournament, Australia were very much out of form and played nowhere near their full talent and potential. If they did, they would have achieved the semifinals at least.
