Many people will say its not full HD quality being only 720p, but to be fair it is a digital SLR and not a specific HD video camera and does the trick for me.
well, you can with any video camera you will just need a tripod to keep it still and a VERY big memery card, and a editing program to speed the footage up.
I would lean towards the fuji, not too much in it to be honest, but the fuji takes better video footage and has a higher digital zoom. everything else is almost the same.
I`m waiting to deliver Fuji S2000hd in the Fuji shop and to see how it look in my hands. I definetelly didn`t like the body of Nikon, the plastic feels like very cheap and very frigile. I`ll see....
I think HD is useless on normal TVs and monitors. The video is too slow.
However this camera has ability to zoom while recording which is something my old Fuji (s5600) does not have. For a wildlife photographer this is critical.
So i might get this camera just for those two purposes:
1)Zoom in and out videos
2)Good quality photos.
So my question is, is there any huge difference in HD photos and normal photos?
yeah dude, the picture quality is great when its in hd compared to normal, it has alot more clarity, but they are a bit over saturated, but it kinda looks cool
HD video is OK on a LCD tv, but only with close objects, landscapes are crap. Wide angle photo's are unsharp in the edges due to the extreme zoom lens. Good camera considering the price though.
thanks. well i have a 4 gb sd. and it does me fine. if you go on long trips or whatever (were you cant take it off the camera on the computer) maybe not. i get about 20 mins on an empty card. the pic quaility is good. a bit over saturated, but it looks pretty cool. but yeah, great camera :D
i got this camera yesterday video quality is awesome .i used rechargable NiMh 2700 mah batteries but it only lasted for about 20min which is too short. what batteries do u use ? does your batteries last for more than 20min
lol, i just got some everready rechargable batteries, yeah, not very long, its pretty bad. but the best thing to do is buy 2 sets of them. thats what i did, hope you like it
the energizer lithium batteries are $20 for four AAs but they last a very, very long time. I threw them in a week ago, shot an entire concerts worth of video and about a hundred photos and its still going strong.
wow going from normal youtube quality to hd is just insain!!!! thanks for uploading,,im definilty buying this camera for my stop motion videos and take advantage of the super macro setting and manual focus
is there a manual focus ring? or is the focus automatic

I agree the optic zoom is a big let down.

@baxdoode Since it is not a video camera the HD is a bonus even if not the best I would think the question is how are the pictures.
