Was it a special microscope camera, or a common Canon digital camera? I'm trying to figure out how much equipment my son needs to study plankton.

just common digital camera, even the digital camera of a cell phone can do this. you just need to put the camera above the eyepiece and carefully adjust the distance between the camera and the eyepiece until you can see the plankton. however, you need skills to keep your hand from shaking, good luck

very common Olympus compound microscope (Model CHS), and I took this video using a Canon digital camera

you could atleast put a song or smth :) anyway .. nice video .. i actually have a little farm of daphnia .. as food for my fish :)
