• hi, kazzart-

thanks for the lesson in using chopsticks. i'm starting to get the hang of it. now i can eat rice with confidence, and watch kazzart videos! thanks!

  • This girl is so cute. Still don´t know how to use the chopsticks cause I always watched her.

  • how to use a spoon?

  • Thank you so much!! 5 stars! ^-^

  • lol you makes it look so easy! but imagine a westernt kid going into a restraunt and spending forever getting the chopsticks on right.

  • it really wouldn't take that long!

you just have to practice it and you will know the placement of the chopsticks instantly!

  • you're preeeeeetty...

  • IT AINT SILENT BUT WAT EV

  • I love u! *-*

  • next show us how to lick ice cream.

    lol

  • And i liked how you show us =)

  • its quite easy, just tell others to eat slow...he he he

  • How can you eat very quickly??? )))

  • pretty girl :)

  • use it like a fork ... that is bad manner

  • haha omg i can't do it :{

  • Mmmmm broccoli ....

Now you made me hungry :(

  • Thats great. But why not just use a spoon or a fork? Have I missed something?

  • So it only takes seventeen years and YouTube (as well as coincidence on finding a chopstick vid) to finally learn how to use these things...

    You = win XD

Also, you = talented piano player!!! I wish I was nearly as good on my tenor sax haha... Keep up your coolness! :P

  • Thanks for teaching us ^^

  • This is a cute vid <3

    So are you Chinese?

  • what do you prefere Kazzart, chop sticks or a knife and fork?

  • how to call 'noodle' in chinese?

  • 面 mian

  • xia xia

  • i luv eating with chopsticks

  • that food is makin me hungry :-\

  • thanks Kazzart for the pearl of edu-cinema! ...oh...u r so cute!!

  • i will use your technique next time i eat out. Whats your faveourite food to eat????

    Ps your a cutie.

  • You're pretty. If you take off your sunglasses. I think you're like a princess! :)

  • you're pretty!

  • Sweet vid - and the out-take was gigglesome.

I still prefer the technique without the middle finger in the way

  • Thnx! That was RLY helpful!

    ...ur pretty cute, too =P

  • The way they show you how to use it on disposable chop sticks are so much easier.

    -OwaranaisLaVe

  • ... >_>

^^! Im gonna learn how to use chopsticks now!

  • daamn this is difficult :))

  • Hey I always rested the first chopstick on my middle finger and did okay - is that wrong, or just personal preference?

  • Me too... I think it's because that's the way you're taught on disposable chopsticks (if you weren't brought up with eating with them) or that's the way you think others hold them.

I don't know which is the correct way or holding in in China, Japan, or Korea. if there is no correct way, then I guess it is personal choice. I have no clue, I'm from the Philippines... but that's a good question.

    -OwaranaisLaVe

  • i think youre pretty...

    >_>

    <_<

    *runs*

  • Thanks, very interesting and even funny! :)

  • The smaller the objects you can pick up with chopsticks, shows how correctly you are holding them. Me and my dad can pick up very small stuff, but my bro and mom don't hold correctly and can't pick up the small stuff..

  • i don't think there is a correct way to hold chopsticks. hold them in anyway so long as you can pick up food and rice. hehe

  • She got the correct way to hold chopsticks. However her step 2 shoule be step 1, because it's more easier to just slit in the second chopsticks in. But I'm agree with you that no matter what we hold, as long as the food in moth then it's fine.

  • LOL!!! :D

  • Yeah, that's the way my Korean boyfriend showed me to use chopsticks but in Korea you never put the rice bowl up to your mouth. That is considered very rude. By the way, Korean chopsticks are even more difficult to work with because they are made out of metal and are really thin.

  • well, there are different types of chopsticks, but the type you're talking about must be the long ones xD

  • Thanks for demonstrating the Chinese way. I only know of one way of using the chopsticks (which I was told is the Japanese way. For all I know, that may not be the case) and I was wondering what the Chinese way was. Cool!

  • I'm a bit puzzled about these differences because now I'm not really sure which way I use to eat with chopsticks...*?*

  • your so sexy

  • U R so Cute.

  • ahhhh...finally i get it. Thanks for sharing this.

  • i shouldn't have watched this. now i'm craving for some korean food :(

  • Haha, you are so cute and funny! You pretty! o.o

  • that is amazing to me

i never knew that you could use them as a spoon

i alllllwways wondered how asians ate rice

hahaah i thought it would take hours pinching each piece like how you picked up the meat

    nice editing btw

    very artistic style

  • Thanks for teaching us ^^

  • That's embarrassing. It's not the authentic way to use chopsticks. You shouldn't have your middle finger between the chopsticks.

  • you're a moron, it really doesnt matter. it's a fucking tool.

  • And you're pretty stupid. Her video states its "authentic". You don't go out and buy a can of Pepsi and realize you're drinking Root Beer.

  • Thats great. You have made it look so simple. Thanq...here I go to a Chinese restaurant!! :-)

  • shes a hottie. misspelled vegies though.. cant have that can we?

  • funny way to hold a bowl! haha. i know how to use chopsticks but before i knew how, this video would have been great!

  • You have to hold bowl like that or else you can eat with a chopstick, trust me:P Have a try dude, see for yourself:D

  • correction, or else you can't*

  • Very cute. :)

  • Yea.. doesnt take technique to use a fork not does it?

  • i'm hungry.

  • Good chopstick technique. But that's not how you hold a bowl! hehe

  • I'm Vietnamese, and I use the exact same method. You're really cute looking by the way.

  • ooo can i have some 2 plz =P=P

  • Oh God... I wonder if (by extension) my video will also get more comments/haters, LOL!! Umm, am I prepared for this?!?! Should I leave it up? Eh, screw it - bring it on!!

  • LOL. Thats the spirit! So how goes it anyways? Any hat0rz goin your way? Hehe..

  • Not at all, LOL!! I'm safe. (c:

I guess the hat0rz are lazy and can only go a couple videos from the one that was featured, LOL!! Fine by me. (hehe)

  • Nice video, i realy did like it :D , funny(nobody is perfect :D)

  • I was taught this way by my chinese housemate... i actually prefer chopsticks to knife and fork! good video :)

  • I never even use my wedding/ring finger. Subsequently, I dont end up using my middle finger to support the top stick either. For the top stick, i use only my index finger and thumb to control. The bottom stick, it just rests on my middle finger, and is only controlled by my middle finger. Easiest and most efficient/intuitive way for non users to learn, especially if you already know how to hold a pen, or you smoke aswell.

  • i had no idea that you could use chopsticks like that. I'm chinese and i use them totally different

  • Yeh my bf also does not use chopsticks this way. He was never shown by his parents.. I guess not everyone gets taught correctly. :)

  • That's the way I use my chopsticks here in Japan but I've been told a few times that it's not really the correct way to do it. But there's a few different styles of using chopsticks so I guess it's just different strokes for different folks.

  • Yeh I think the japanese have a slightly different technique.. this is the traditional chinese technique, and IMO a more stable technique. :)

  • "Yeh I think the japanese have a slightly different technique.. this is the traditional chinese technique, and IMO a more stable technique. :)"

Yeah, Chinese chopsticks are also alot longer than Japanese ones adn my Dad spent alot of time in China so I guess it makes sense that I use them that way too.

  • and plus i know a lot of chinese people and they dont eat like that

  • Sure Sure and i know thats the chinese way to do it but seriously your kind of teaching it to american people so why dont you do it the more effecient way

  • This is YouTube.

Why don't you show us your über-efficient technique then, Mr. Miagi?

  • thats a stupid way to eat rice and stuff with chopsticks i mean who eats like that thats why some people have to put there faces directly inside the bowl and start eating since it keeps falling i know a better way to eat rice with chopsticks and most of the world does too

  • ROFL. You have know idea how stupid that comment made you appear. Obviously you are not chinese, and your "world" apparently does not include the billion or so people living in china who actually do eat their rice this way. Go back under the rock from which you crawled.

  • awesum

  • i dont really care about how u use them chopstics. i was just looking at u 4realy. u hot girl.^^

  • Haha! Kazzart, you're my hero! I know you're definitely asian at heart right when I saw you take the bowl to your lips and scoop the rice in with chopsticks.

  • also ur hot

  • im a white dude who worked in a chinese restauraunt for like a year and i still don't know how to use those f'rs

  • lol i want some food

  • there are many ways to hold the chopsticks, I found it's difficult to hold the way you are doing ( regular way), I am asian, and I'm a left hand person

  • Thats not silent!

  • i have an amerasin buffet near my house and i can order food in japaneese but i dont want to seem rasist

  • if i practise...

  • thanks for the tip, now i wont have to chuck mushrooms all around the restaurant cheers

  • Lovely video (^_^) i like the "silent film" aspect.

  • I thank you for doing this video. You really spelled it out on how to. Thanks for sharing this.

  • awesome :P

  • She's really HOOOOOT .

  • hahahahha that was really funny. Especially the end :) xje tirsjje

  • lol..that was funny..i still can't use the damn things quite right.. i need practice :D

  • xie xie :) now i can do it the right way

  • i actually learned how to use chop sticks on by tv.I was watching this show and there was this chinese woman cooking,in the middle of the show she showed you how to use the chopsticks,i still remember how to use them

  • hmm .. your method seems harder to learn than aerics... but it looks better and feels more advanced *ggg*

luckily .. since i bought my own chopsticks .. i have plenty opportunities for practice :)

    thnx for the lesson!

  • i don't use my chopsticks like that. but do you have a video or know where to find a video on HOW to use chopsticks without being repulsive? because not alot of people know that letting your chopsticks standing in a bowl of rice is just plain rude!

  • Hahaha... get over yourself. Rusty old traditions like those are long gone and forgotten these days. Move on with the times.

  • soooo... eating while standing up is nothing and you have no need to slurp your miso anymore?

  • thats how i use my chopsticks :D

  • hmm...dats not how i use my chopsticks..O_O..

  • i love this video, it was soo funny, especially the ending..-shit- hehehehehehehe....

  • INGENIOUS..... Brilliant film making, we have another multi - talented You Tuber....thanks a million

  • Aw thanks! But this vid really didn't involve very much effort.. I just sorta made it up as I went along. :) Even finding the music was a lucky chance lol.

  • Thanks, luv the background music :)

    n u're cute :)

  • for years or well just a long time i've been trying to do that..and i can't!!!im goin to try, now that i've watch ur vid i think i can do it!

  • i hate japanese,but i like u :)

  • SWEET i know now =) yay! ive been trying fer ever! and now ur video has taught me and made me hungry

  • haha.. ya.. well.. i eat my lunch with chopsticks everyday.. and my indian frds say im crazy eating rice with it.. hahaha XD

  • haha.. ya.. well.. i leave my lunch with chopsticks everyday.. and my indian frds say im crazy eating rice with it.. hahaha XD

  • you should try using 3 chopsticks instead of 2. you can increase your asianalitude by 150% that way. it totally works for me.

  • Thats hilarious! Great work! I can now be a chopsticks star!

  • Being a foodie, I know how to use chopsticks..however, while watching this video and eating a toasted sandwich, I ran to my kitchen drawer and grabbed some chopsticks -to follow your demo.. You have power of influence Kazzart! I still used my fingers for the sandwich though.GREAT video & loved the out-take also! I can't wait to post video replies myself. YT isn't accepting the format for my Windows Movie Maker attempts!

  • Hehe cool!!! :) And thanks.

Hmm what format are you saving as? You need to export it as a wmv. YT is perfectly fine with WMV - it's what I use.

  • Just never had the occasion to use chopsticks very much so I'm still pretty sloppy (understatement LoL!)! Went to Chinatown in San Francisco once, and ate at a place where I was forced to use them. Talk about a long, long meal! Well, they say eating slowly is good for you *g*!! (c: This inspires me to try your hints now and see if I can improve! Great video!

  • Good stuff!! Lol. Let me know how your progress goes! :)

  • I was completely intrigued by that music; I recognized it as "My Blue Heaven" but it was unlike any rendition I have ever heard. In addition to interesting it is very "old" sounding, which made it just perfect for your "silent movie" theme!

  • Haha yeh.. I just found it floating around on my pc.. I think I was trying to find a rendition of My Blue Heaven at one point, and this was some free crappy quality recording demo off some site.. but it worked perfectly for the vid. :)

  • I love how the background music works with the video.

  • Haha ! Love it Kazz! Although I can use chopsticks, I don't do it like you, I tried your technique and couldnt do it... My method works for me though. However, I have a question... is there an etiquette for using chopsticks? (I mean, if you hold them wrong is it considered rude?)

  • Don't use them as drumsticks on the table ;-)

  • Haha thanks. Um... there probably is.. but I don't really know much about the finer points of chinese etiquitte. I think it is rude to stick your chopsticks INTO your rice.. its like, an insult to your host or something.

  • I talked to a Japanese friend earlier and she said it is perfectly normal and accepted for Chinese and Vietnamese to pick up a small rice bowl and "push" the rice directly into mouth, but this is considered unacceptable and -very- rude in Korea. Also she mentioned the sticking the sticks up in your rice as VERY unacceptable as it is part of a Japanese funeral rite of some sort, plus crossing them on the table symbolizes death (also Japanese).

  • I got the distinct impression there -are- some very strict and set 'rules of etiquette' involving chopsticks, but they seem to be very specific to the culture-- whether Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, (or others that use them?).

  • Yeh.. but thats all old-school really now... most younger asians don't even follow those traditions anymore.. not in this day and age with cultures crossing over.. asians becoming much more westernised.

  • LOL That's the same techinique I have learned and used on my own for years now. Man, you eat fast! :P Great Video! ^_^ -WJS

  • Heheh erm.. well you should be used to seeing me eat by now josh!!

  • What if I already know how to use chopsticks? Do you have any cool chopstick tricks you can teach me?

Oh, and technically, this wasn't a "silent movie" because I could hear the sounds that the chopsticks made as well as the sound you made when you put that bowls of food down. ;) :P

  • Meh.. technicalities.

  • cool video, love the whole silent video concept. Nice tips too, im rubbish with chopsticks so was studying your technique using two pencils, needless to say it didnt go well! Good ending too with the bloopers, funny :)

  • Thanks! :) Haha well practice makes perfect!

  • I would soooo be the retard even trying that! :/

  • LOL. Well.. everyone's gotta start somewhere. Cmon give it a go! :)

  • i like the bit at the end the most

  • Cool video... I love silent films! xD

Where did you get the music?

  • Its a classic jazz piece by Whiting, called "My Blue Heaven".

  • hehe that was cute ^_^ i love the simple gestures you make to get the message across, looking forward to more random goodness =)

now, maybe you should test your viewers' new found skills be requesting that they learn to pick up a single grain of rice with the chopsticks hehe

  • by requesting**

  • Hey thats a good idea! Any video responses are most welcome, esp if they can demonstrate picking up a single grain of rice. :)

  • I don't know when I've enjoyed watching someone eat more than now hehe. Now try it with a pair of drumsticks. j/k I've always been pretty good with chopsticks and now that I've seen an actual demonstration, I find that my technique is pretty close. Years of trial and error.

  • Hahahah.. well you should come into my stickam chat more often then lol. I've become known for eating whilst on webcam.

  • And drumsticks... ouch that would definitely cramp the hand!!

  • As always ... I enjoyed this ... another fine contribution from the Exceptional and Remarkable talents of Kazzart. But I am curious ... as an Asian living deep in Western Civilization ... how do you rate (and feel about) chopsticks vs forks, knives, and spoons?

  • Thankyou. :) Um well I use both really. Sometimes I use a fork or spoon.. sometimes chopsticks. Depends what I eat and what I'm eating out of (bowl, plate). I often each asian food with a spoon or fork. Though noodle I'll almost always use chopsticks.. and a spoon too if its soupy. Pasta though, I'll use a fork.

  • Watched your video and picked up two pens, tried to practice, it wasn't pretty. You made it look easy. I think I'm have issues with my middle finger, its just not very nimble. BTW - if you get any cuter I'm gonna explode. Poof!

  • Hahaha.. pens are easier than chopsticks actually. And wood chopsticks are easier than ivory ones (less slippery). I guess different people have different levels of dexterity in their fingers/hands..

  • hilarious and what youtube is all about 5 stars!

btw, is there a term for those ambidextrous with chopsticks? my asian friends are all impressed, but we can't think of a good term XD

  • Aw thanks! Um... I have no idea about that term...

  • Can you be any cuter? :-) I'll have to modify my chopsticks technique now; it's functional but not quite as consistent as the traditional method seems to be.

But seriously ... can you BE any cuter? :-p

  • Hahah.. aw thankyou! :) And glad I could help you hone your chopstick skillz.

  • My first experience with chopsticks came at a local Japanese steakhouse, very good food, delicious in fact, but when they brought out the 'sticks they were inside a paper wrapper that said " if millions of 5-year-old Japanese children can use chopsticks, you can too!" Is that considered encouragement or taunting?? ;-)

  • Hahahah... that could be taken either way huh... lol.

  • Hey, wait a minute... I didn't hear you sing "DO, RE, MI, FA, SO, LA, TI, DO" - you don't really know how to use chopsticks, do you?!?! (LOL!!)

You've gotta keep a tight grip on those things (chopsticks) or you could put an eye out, LOL - great outtake!

  • OK, now I have to go get some Chinese food today to give the "Authentic Chinese Chopstick Technique" a try. Who knows, maybe I'll even invite some "Authentic Chinese People" along! (c:

  • Sorry.. maybe I'll do the "Do Re Mi" next time eh.. :P

  • Then again, it was a SILENT video... So I guess I'll let you off this time.

    But seriously, I can't get the bottom "chopstick" to stay in one place... Maybe that's cause I'm using PENCILS here at my desk, LOL!! It might work better/easier with ACTUAL chopsticks. You think? (c;
