Hi tonedr 'Brilliant' really want to learn this one. Did you retune guitar for shufflin sam? if so Id loved to know what strings changed. By the way thanks for tutorial for 'never going back again' one of my favs and you explained it so well. thanks.thanks.thanks-keep up the cooltunes. Dino
Thanks for your kind words & watching the video - I've never worked up that tune but it's a good one! Maybe one day I'll tackle a tutorial - thanks for the request,
Ahhh, you make it look sooo easy... How many times have you played this tune?? 5 or 6 k?? ;-) Beautiful technique!! The room is a bit "live" but your playing is without issue or misstep. Wonderful.
hello.....thanks so much for your kind post.....greatly appreciated! I've played it at least a couple dozen i would guess.....okay maybe more! All the best,
so great to hear from you! I started playing when I was 14 - i am so glad you are playing!!! Keep it up - you will never regret it - let me know if I can help in any way,
hello Frank - sure appreciate your kind words! Always great to hear from you - hope you are doing just great. THanks for your kind rating - take care my friend,
I love it Dale! Great piece and performance. Has a ragtime feel. Your Collings sounds awesome. By the way, I am curious as to the different feel of the necks on the three guitars you have been comparing recently....the width of the necks at the nut, shape of the backs of the necks, size of the frets, etc... Is there much difference from that respect? Thanks for the vid. 5* for sure my friend! -Derek
hey Derek - hope life is good sir! The OM has the most comfortable for me - kind of C shape but a little lower profile and doesn't change much up the fretboard. The C-10 has kind of D shape and a bit bigger -comfortable but a bit more work for the left hand. The Martin has a little more V to it, not strong, it gets a bit bigger as it works to the heel, not my favorite feature of Martin necks. I love the 000-18 but not as big a fan of Martin necks in general. Thanks!
i'd love to hear your playing, i'm sure it is great - fingerstyle is a challenge for me - i really like it because it is a 'stand alone' kind of style. Take care my friend,
Love that song and the way you play it. I went back to your Martin version and it was interesting to hear the differences in tone (assuming the recording technique was similar on both?)
hello my friend - did you ever think about addding an OM to your collection? Hope you are doing well sir, i'm still enjoying your Moon River video - just killer!
Enjoyed the fingerpicking. There's nothing like a little bluegrass sound. Have you ever picked "Sweet Georgia Brown"? That's one of my favorites. Thanks for the vid.
He is just an amazing player. This tune is off is Kentucky Guitar CD, maybe my favorite. I would certainly encourage checking out some of his much. Thanks so much for watching!

hi dale:
that's what i call a happy song. you put a smile face. you made that modern guitar sound very old timey. just wonderful.
peace,
rich
kidderminsterbro 3 years ago
It's a modern guitar, but a Collings OM uses the design of Martin OMs from the 20s and 30s.
