  • I love it Dale! Great piece and performance. Has a ragtime feel. Your Collings sounds awesome. By the way, I am curious as to the different feel of the necks on the three guitars you have been comparing recently....the width of the necks at the nut, shape of the backs of the necks, size of the frets, etc... Is there much difference from that respect? Thanks for the vid. 5* for sure my friend! -Derek

  • hey Derek - hope life is good sir! The OM has the most comfortable for me - kind of C shape but a little lower profile and doesn't change much up the fretboard. The C-10 has kind of D shape and a bit bigger -comfortable but a bit more work for the left hand. The Martin has a little more V to it, not strong, it gets a bit bigger as it works to the heel, not my favorite feature of Martin necks. I love the 000-18 but not as big a fan of Martin necks in general. Thanks!

  • Very cool tune! I'd love to be able to finger pick like that, I'll keep workin' on it. Beautiful guitar and beautiful playing, a new favorite.

  • i'd love to hear your playing, i'm sure it is great - fingerstyle is a challenge for me - i really like it because it is a 'stand alone' kind of style. Take care my friend,

    dale

  • Hi Dale: exquisite play my friend, and oh my , what a beautifull guitar...! Can I borrow that for a minute?;)

    Pascal

  • i would love to hear it in your hands!! Thanks for watching - take care,

    dale

  • Hey Dale, great picking. Your Collings sounds and looks beautiful. 5+

    Best regards

    Martin

  • Hey Martin - hope things are good! Thanks for your kind words!

    dale

  • Love that song and the way you play it. I went back to your Martin version and it was interesting to hear the differences in tone (assuming the recording technique was similar on both?)

  • Yes same recording setup, actually recorded at the same time - thanks again!

  • dale

insert "on my" between smile and face on my comment.

    peace,

    rich

  • Thanks Rich, sure appreciate you watching!

  • hi dale:

that's what i call a happy song. you put a smile face. you made that modern guitar sound very old timey. just wonderful.

    peace,

    rich

  • It's a modern guitar, but a Collings OM uses the design of Martin OMs from the 20s and 30s.

  • hello my friend - did you ever think about addding an OM to your collection? Hope you are doing well sir, i'm still enjoying your Moon River video - just killer!

    dale

  • hello Rich - sure appreciate you taking time to watch! Thanks for your kind feedback,

    dale

  • Enjoyed the fingerpicking. There's nothing like a little bluegrass sound. Have you ever picked "Sweet Georgia Brown"? That's one of my favorites. Thanks for the vid.

  • I have been thinking about working up an arrangement for SGB! I think it will be a winter project - thanks so much for watching,

    dale

  • Thank you. I look forward to hearing it!

  • I haven't heard of Pat Kirtley, You got the Collings OM humming fine!

  • He is just an amazing player. This tune is off is Kentucky Guitar CD, maybe my favorite. I would certainly encourage checking out some of his much. Thanks so much for watching!

    dale

  • Great thanks for sharing.

  • thanks for watching!
