  • im sick of people always thinking why are they doing it to me. They arent doing it to you. They are doing it to themselves. And it usually starts out because they feel they cant control anything in their lives but they can control that. but then it starts out they cant even control it anymore and it starts controlling them.

  • Dont f**king yell at someone who has a problem and throw things, it doesnt help them. This pisses me off more than anything.

  • Im suprised she still has teeth

  • lol there'se half of the stargate sg1 cast in this movie^^

  • SHE CANT DAMN IT! LISTEN TO HER :/

  • notice how they never gave her parents anything on her ed. its is not their fault

  • Why, Oh WHY is her family so stupid, They are the ones holding back her recovery omg.

  • @JosieMarieHollenback: you need to get some help. But the thing is. The treatment won't work if you don't want it to. You need to be at the state of mind to want to get better and to actually eat. Believe me I know. I was bulimic. It's a terrible sight to see. Get better :)

  • I am anorexic. I get pains all over. Aches, that won't go away for days. It is true

  • Her parents need to seriously calm their tits and like, listen to her for once.

  • @CottonMarbles I think that her parents are going through the stages of grief because they have went through denial then anger. In their mind they know they are losing their daughter to a disease.

  • @crushcrushcrushme89 Yeah. But it's just so like, rude ... They just need to calm down. Yelling and peeing themselves isn't going to make her disease magically disappear.

  • I don't understand! She complains she's cold and hurts and its because she's thin? I'm seriously really skinny and I'm not cold, I don't hurt, I never have felt pain because of thinness. It makes me wonder if that is just in movies or something?

  • @FisherCynge I don't know if it's because of my weight or not, but I'm feeling cold most of the time.

  • @FisherCynge when you're underweight, you get cold more easily. Eating warms you up; she doesn't eat. She has no body fat to keep her warm. And anorexics get pains for no apparent reason, its just a part of it.

  • Had to watch this in health.....I cut myself under the desk...my boyfriend saw he started crying....and now I'm currently anorexic....thanks health class i was the only one who new about this...everyone stared at me...

  • @ShilohForeverz

    -_-....

  • America's Next Top Model right there.

  • do you guys understand one its a movie and two it supposed to be the way parents could and might react if their child has this disease. Im sure any parent would blame themselves even if it has nothing to do with them. They had some part in your up bringing so of course they gonna ask what they did wrong especially when the victim of the disease doesn't let it know.

  • this movie is so triggering but I cant stop watching...

  • OMG WHY THE FUCK DON'T PARENTS GET IT ITS NOT ABOUT THEM WE AREN'T DOING IT TO THEM

  • Can some explain to me what she was doing?

  • @Allwaswell934 She just doesn't allow herself to eat it. She wants the food, but she can't eat it. She does the next best thing, and feeds others, and organizes it. She has a compulsion to be around it, she can't help it at all.

  • her with the food in the beginning... its me. :/

  • @cosmicorinne What was the point of it? It was weird when I saw this, because some of those items were in my pantry, but I never put them ALL out like that. So, I guess I don't understand it. Can you tell me why you did it?

  • Aw c'mon eat the fuckin soup..... It good healthy and helps you get warm

  • IF YOU DON'T LIVE IT, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW FEEL LIKE

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS SHE DOING

  • @shatteringglass100 haha i know seriously! I have anorexia and I don't do anything like that :/

  • Wow that mom has super-hearing!!! ...I would have passed it off as a bird or snore...and that doctor..super rude! what the hell! "well, she should know she could die!" no shit Sherlock..

  • Comment removed

  • If i said "I want it, but i cant.." My mom would be like "Well too bad! *shoves soup down throat*" No, really. She wouldn't just ask "please let me make you soup." ..yeah, my mom's like that. lol. she...doesnt understand the disease

  • her parents are taking it all wrong :/ they arent being that supportive of her

  • i know this might seem stupid, but why can't they feed her some sort of formula that has food in it and feed it to her while she's like really sleepy and tired and so she doesn't realize theat she is being fed?

  • @nocturnelle07 because they cant bottle feedher the rest of her life, nancy needs to learn to eat and be okay with it " Not eating is just the symptom of the disease

  • @KnG1Dakota : her parents are being extremly supportive...did u not see her mom sitting by her bedside, her father went to court to gain custody over her mental/ physical health desicions...you cant support/ love someone to death- they need to take charge of it like they did, and than learn to let go and not control her so much. Its har dnot to get frusterated at someone with an addiction-

  • @CherryBomb079 what happens is she wants to eat so much (and this really happens) but her disease won't allow her to have any so she admires it and being skinny is a way or control and perfection so she's controlling the food and making it perfect even though she'll never let herself eat any of it

  • that doctor is a fucking dick

  • "well maybe she should know she could die!" WHAT A RETARD. i don't think nancy gives a crap about that.

  • I wanna hug nancy. I feel so bad for her and what she's going through

  • @Bittersweet21222 oh thank u so much :)

  • Um ok is she really Ana cuz she's really skinny! Scary thin

  • @AlexisAwesome68 yes tracy gold was in recovery when this movie was made

  • This movie is making me hungry

  • This movie is making me hungry

  • @he3rtbrok3n... the family is too SOFT on her? They're already shouting at her and berating her, as if she's willfully disobeying them and just being stubborn, when what she's doing isn't at all her choice, it's her illness, which she has no control over. And it's not just the mother's fault. The mother was one person who Nancy felt was trying to take her control away, but she wasn't the only factor.

  • She's got OCD with the organizing. Alphabetizing is also a form of counting.

  • i never got the part wen sheslike .. idk organizing the food ??

  • What pisses me off is that no one is listening to what she's saying: "I want to, but I can't". That is crucial with people who suffer from anorexia nervosa. They can no longer control it. They need help figuring out how to control it. People keep trying to shove food down their throats, but it's like the doctor said: the not eating isn't the problem, it's a symptom. They need to help her fix the problem. So very sad...

  • @mistresswicked69 thank you!!! some people here don't seem to get that!

  • @mistresswicked69 the movie to me is saying that it doesnt just hurt u it hurts the people around u,so yeah thier going to be yelling why arent u eating.my friend had this and i cried my self to sleep afraid she was going to die in the middle of the night.but yes he doctor was right its not them its the disease that controls u

  • @mistresswicked69 Thanks for pointing that out. It's not that you don't want to eat; it's that you get to a point where you just can't anymore. I think even my stomach got used to not eating-to the point that it didn't even growl anymore.

  • @mistresswicked69 You do not always know how to.

  • @elibeth121 This is true; it's not at all easy to help fix the problem. Sometimes, you can't really fix the problem; sometimes, you just have to learn to cope with it. And that's the hardest thing of all. It becomes something you live with every day, like trying to ignore the elephant sitting in the corner. But it can be done. Some people are doing it, still doing it, every single day. Take that elephant and turn it into a piece of furniture; you can't shake it, but make it work 4 u.

  • @mistresswicked69 you do not learn to cope with it, you learn to help them in a way that is not going to make them worse. Although, a lot of parents do not know what to say. Anger, is a certain way for them to ease their own tension because they are frustrated. Anorexia and bulimia are curable and it is not for life.

  • i hate when my mom blames herself for my issues.

  • i find it sad that i think her body is beautiful that small. and that i would do anything to look like that.

  • Pause at 8:56 ... does anyone else notice the print on her cup and the print on her dress are almost exactly the same?

  • i fucking hate this family ,they throw stuff and they don't understand her and they yell at her!

  • @mybunnyeatsglitter its understandable, nancy is causing them problems, but then agin its the mom's fault, she practically gave anorexia to her daughter....

  • Karen Carpenter all over again. What can a person do?...

If I were her mother I would have to demand she get help or she has to "move out" She has to start facing the fact that this thing isen't normal and College that I'm paying for and the roof I'm putting over her head will all be taken away If she doesen't get help...that's it!!

  • @atlasshrugged2u hahaha same here! the family is too soft on nancy, she needs dicipline

  • @he3rtbrok3n Right on!!

  • @atlasshrugged2u woo hoo! high five rugged! XD

  • @he3rtbrok3n Thank You for the vaildation hun :)

  • @daCrazyWay she has OCD. It's common with anorexia... x

  • the doctor is cute

  • I have to be honest, I've been worse than this, but I still cannot figure out the relevance of the cans... help anyone? I never sorted cans....

  • @daCrazyWay i think it because some people with an ED like to know that they can control themselves around food. i'm not too sure.

  • @daCrazyWay The counting cans is a way of confronting the thing she seems to fear the most: food. She can look at it, touch it, manipulate it, and even fool the people around her by showing that she isn't afraid of food. It seems silly to us, but to her, it's a source of power in world where she has lost power over everything, even her own body.

  • I think Nancy is an idiot. She wonders why everyone is angry at her when she flaunts it in their faces. Being all OCD about arranging the cans right in front of her mum was just asking for a fight. How attention seeking.

  • it was for this reason that i was sent to live with an aunt and uncle - my parents and brother just couldn't deal with the situation. i was also a college freshman who had to leave school for a semester. four years later, i'm healthier and headed to graduate school... but i still fight those same demons. it's a life-long journey.

  • Those parents must feel so desperate. They want to help their child but they don't know how to do that and she wants them to help her, but can't get herself to eat. Tough situation I think.

  • I have 3 children and I would do anything in my power to help with them if they were in this situation.

  • @treasured3 Well the thing is you cant really help them

  • @dancingqueen95101 Many anorexics like to cook and/or watch cooking shows & organize food. the smell from the food will satisfy them & "fill them up" in a way without having to eat anything. and cooking & organizing the food will also keep them busy. i have some friends who have had problems with eating disorders & when it comes to organizing the food... they say that "food is meant to be looked at & not eaten". it's like a form of OCD & it also helps them have control.

    hope that helps.

  • someone please reply

why dose she organize the food??? i dont get it

  • Thank god I don't have any family, I would feel really bad making them all worried. And friends are easily fooled.

  • you know even if you are over 18 your parenrs can still have you commited if you are proven to be a danger to yourself.and since she is starving herself to death, this would apply....

  • I have a feeling shes going to end up dying.....

  • what was the whole kitchen scene about? I wonder why she was doing that with the cans of food for hours and hours?

  • @MalissaRose It's a form of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)

  • You think her sickness would scare me right?

  • I wish my parents were this caring and loving. They STILL don't KNOW that I have an E.D. :(

  • @kryssylmb be strong, ask for help, if you dont feel comfortable telling your parents, tell another person you trust, your life is just as important and valuable as any other, I formed an eating disorder as a result of rejection from a guy, I was trying to punish myself, I quit cold turkey because I was being sent away as a result. you can overcome this if you believe it

  • She was in recovery from her E.D. when she made this movie. GOD! How horrible it must have been for her to relive the E.D. all over again.

  • aaawhh i LOVE the brother ^^

  • if you call the police on someone w horrible anorexia ,

can they do anything abt it?

  • @LovCrzyChick - Yes, there are certain things people can do for people in crises. As a matter of fact, right now, a court wants me to have guardianship of one of my family members, alleging that she, my female relative, cannot properly care for herself. It's a long and crazy story, but they want her declared incompetent. There are other avenues one can take too, so to speak. There's something where I live called "302ing," and it's for people who are in immediate physical danger - nomoreroom

  • @Brooke684 hmm . thanks very much !

  • A this point I want her to die

  • This is so awful. I understand that it would be so hard for Nancy's family, but how can they just watch her die ? They need to take her somewhere where she can get help.

  • i've been anorexic but at the time i couldnt understand why people cared what i had to eat etc but after i recovered and my best friend got anorexia, i understood the feelings of nancys parents. it is extremely frustrating trying to get the person to understand that shes going to die. theyre in disbelief and because it is a mental disease, its extremely hard to deal with, both for her & the people around her. stop hating on her parents. its because they are frustrated and dont want her to die

  • wow...Im glad her family screams and throws stuff...they might as well call her a fat ass...it would do just about the same damage...

  • fucked up parents fucked up kids thats wat i think

  • i'd love for my mother to care that much. sure, throwing stuff isn't exactly necessary but it's their form of expressing their emotions...my mom really doesn't give a shit.

  • @bellykelly53 sorting them out. it's something anorexia patients do.

  • @righteous09 do they actually eat it after sorting.. like she had peaches and veggies and stuff... do they eat that kinda stuff ONLY?

  • @angellightmist1016 nahh they don't eat it, they just have an obsession with sorting it, they also look through cookbooks to satisfy their "hunger" you could say, without actually EATING anything. they like preparing food for others as well, because it makes them feel better. if anything, they would eat something with a low nutritional value and cut it up really small like you saw in this movie. so yeah, veggies and stuff i guess, lettuce etc. cos it's 90% water, so you can be excreted easily.

  • they need to either kick her out or have her go back to the treatment center. all they are doing is enabling her disease by giving her a place to stay to continue getting sicker.

  • Oooh I want that doctor to take care of me!

  • It's a form of OCD

  • What's with the sorting cans of food thing?

Also notice how there are like 3 Tommy's in this movie, haha

  • .. I was starting to go down this road.. restricting.. obsessing.. but after seeing this.. I'm gonna start being healthy.. I don't ever wanna end up like that and to see my family like that over me.

  • Well, shouting and throwing things isn't going to get them anywhere...

  • Has anyone noticed there are like four toms in this movie

  • @ClythiaMystica

    How healthy.

  • @NightimeNecrosis Thanks, but my mom is a cunt who cant accept my eating disorder.

  • @ClythiaMystica I'm not criticizing you because I understand what it means to have an ED and that you can't just start eating again when people want you to, but would you find it easy to accept watching someone you love waste away? If your mom DID accept it without question and didn't worry for your life, she probably didn't love you.

  • @ClythiaMystica at least you admit to having one and isn't that the first step?

  • I wouldn't know what i would do if that was my child.

  • I wouldn't know what i would do if that was my child.

  • Can't the parents get a court order to force her into the center? There should be something they could do. I cannot believe all they can do is sit there and watch her killing herself out of starvation. It's horrible!

  • @TheWinterHeat The mom is not anorexia. The actress who played the mom had been suffering from from a form of leukemia for many years. She died this year on November 5.

  • @agee895 She's obsessed with food, and obsessed in general. It's medically proven that anoretics often become OCD as their disease progresses. She doesn't want to eat, so the next best thing is being around food and controlling yourself, forcing yourself not to eat it. But yeah, they don't really explain that and it's weird.

  • why is she organizing all the food in the beginning of the scene? this movie is so random

  • @agee895 The reason she does it is because its a compulsion. Anorexia Nervosa is at type of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

  • @agee895 it's not really random. anorexics like to obsess over food. they won't eat it, but they obsess over it. so they can only look at it, or look at labels, or organize the food by type, etc.

  • I have to hand it to the mom . . . she's a pretty good actress. And kind of scary . . .

  • her mother makes me think to my own mother when she yells at her like that about food.

good movie anyway, really true for almost every aspects of this disease .

  • the dad is a deck. ;l

    he doesn't understand.

ugh, im banned from throwing my food up. its hard. i cant starve myself its hard. i cant keep a diet cause of school.. UGHH FML.

  • I feel sooo sorry for her brother! Poor guy.

  • @misstaffy1990 it is obvious that you have never had an eating disorder to the extent that the character of nancy had it in the movie. because if you would have had one like that, you would most probably agree with me.

  • i hope nancy dies. it's the only good thing for her.

  • @LiefsteCamilla hahahahahah. nice

  • the mum is also anorexic...

  • the mum is also anorexic.

  • i started to laugh when i saw that cop/doc thing come out of the ambulance. He looked way to funny.

    but sad movie.

  • @lindahbear hahaha me too, reminded me of the village people

  • This movie is making me hungry...

  • Her parents suck. If i were Nancy i would run away because i was so frustrated. Her parents should stop yelling at her and pushing her. They should just try talking to her calmly and caring.

  • @PopGirl890 Her parents DO care, this is why they act the way they do. they are frustrated, and do not understand why she is doing it, and only want to help her. they want to help her so badly, that they can not control themselves around her anymore.

  • Watching this movie makes me want to eat! haha . BRB I'm making mac n cheese (:

  • @DecemberWinter23 make me some! double the cheese. add a side salad!

  • she look boney

  • they're so retarded for letting her get this far.

  • This family likes to throw stuff.

  • @hipnhappenin Right after I read that the mom flung the canned food.

  • @hipnhappenin they might develop a 'throwing-disorder'

  • Comment removed

  • @stephnsiemens that's not the wya to handle things. jerk. for even thinking that.

  • doesnt she kno how to purge??

  • @novideosforme123 shes not bulimic shes anorexic. bulimics purge.

  • @ClubPenguinrocks234

actually anorexics kno how to purge to....

    believe me.

  • I know she's 18 and an adult but there should be some law that they can pin you down and hospitalize you if you're this sick...it's just stupid! I'm so proud of her dad for standing up and yelling at her telling her that she looks like sh**. She's not going to get better on her own. She's got to have a mental illness...just not physical.

  • @JeniBurton213 there is. if the patient refuses and goes back, theres nothing they can do. when they start to get severely sick, then they can force her.

  • @JeniBurton213 Yelling seriously doesn't help. It makes it worse. . . You feel worse about yourself, therefore making you not want to eat more. Atleast that's how it was for me.

  • @kellybelly4124 u were anorexic? how did if feel? i hope its not to much of a personal question

  • @JeniBurton213 In Florida we have the Baker Act. I had anorexia and they forced me in the hospital when I was over 18.

  • @Vindicator1323 I've been Baker Acted as well, friggin sucks..

  • i wish i was thin like nancy.

  • @carmenmsmith91 Nancy is WAY too thin! u dont wanna be like her!

  • What was she doing with the cans?

  • @meekochic organizing them. she's taking inventory of the nutritional values because she's so obsessed with foods. i bet she wants to open up one of those cans and eat the food, but she's so scared of being fat, losing control, losing herself, that she can't see that she's not what she used to be.

  • gah! mark paul gosselar is freaking FINE. woooo. :P

  • Too bad nobody cared about me like that when I was 80 pounds. All they cared about was yelling and screaming, "Fuck up."

Face it, family only makes eating disorders worse.

  • @Xalindrah Ya thats a good point. I finally just told me mom to stop worrying about it yesterday. That i'd do it on my own

  • @Xalindrah :( yeah alot of times, when a fam gets involved, it can either go really well, or really bad. I'm sorry that happened to you.

  • @Xalindrah Same with depression. My family acted the same way for me. I hope you're feeling better and doing better. I found that while it is great to have family on your side, if you find yourself able to plow through hard times alone, you'll feel strong enough to take on anything when all is said and done. That's how I feel now. But in the throws of everything you have to just bear down and find help in any way you can. Help is out there. I hope you have found some health and contentment.

  • @Xalindrah

They only make it worse because they don't understand what you're going through. Trust me. I understand.

  • @Xalindrah i couldn't agree with you more. i never got one bit of freaking support when i was basically a walking skeleton. all i got was my friends and family giving me shit 24/7 and no one ever listened or cared.

  • the saddest part is watching everyone she is hurting with her ED

  • That broad of a mom is soo stupid...

  • can someone tell me anymore movies like this to watch?? about anorexia or bulimia? i enjoy them.. thank you . my email is mertylmae@yahoo.com you can find my on facebook under mertyl mae...

  • @TheMegmyster A secret between friends is a good one. Also, the perfect body
