I'm one of the people that watched this show in Reruns on G4. What happened? They were such a great channel in the beginning but not anymore. I don't even get G4 anymore, and it doesn't seem to bother me at all. Its seems like every cable channel eventually has its decline.....

@CartoonsAndGameShows Sadly G4 and TechTV merged into one channel that now sucks :( They used to be two different channels and both were very good. Now G4 just shows the same old s**t that can be seen on other channels. I dropped cable two years ago. There just aren't any good channels any more.

I only got to see this show once. In my area (Portland/Vancouver) Starcade was on I believe SUPER early in morning on the weekends, at about 5 or 6am on TBS. My mom had cable and when I'd visit her I'd try to get up in time to watch it but was usually too tired. Managed to just once and loved the show. Definitely recognized Geoff Edwards from various '70s game shows.

Not a bug. Pac Man Plus was designed to be a MUCH harder version of the game. Sometimes only three of the ghosts turned blue, and sometimes they didn't all return to normal at the same time.

I remember an episode where a kid got the required score before the time ran out to win an arcade game, but Geoff said no. Later they started pausing when the timer reached 0.

I remember watching an episode with Mike Richards, and a contestant was playing Pole Position and the buzzer went off with 2 seconds left on the clock, and the player had to stop. I felt like the player got cheated.

So agree. I didn't grow up in the 80's so I was unaware of this show. (I'm 18), but I do like all things retro and this show is great. The host is charismatic and charming , and its real cool seeing the arcade games when there was nothing else with better graphics or gameplay. Now people look back at these games with as relics, but on this show the arcade games were either new or relatively new and I like seeing that. Very cool show. My generation sucks.

I used to watch this on Saturday morning on WTBS way back in 1983 and 1984. Thanks for posting this clip. I taped many of these shows when G4 ran them before that network went down the drain (like every other channel).

In my opinion, they should re-do this game show. If I was producing it, the team with the highest score for each game win pionts in the main game (keep the 3 game format), keep the mystery game, and have 30 seconds on the first two games with 45 seconds on the third. I would also combine the name the game board (using console games, to earn additional time and cash) and the challenge against the average high score into a new bonus round. What do you think?

I agree. On the other hand, it's a kids' game show and GSN had barred all kids shows since the late 90's. G4 had shown this game show since the network's debut.

It's not necessarily a kids show.  A number of contestants were young adults as well.
