@andrewlamond: I use a 560TVL bullet cam from R F Concepts at the front, connected to a camcorder in the boot. On the back I have a cheap (£35 on ebay - you can get them cheaper but they're knock offs) AEE MD80 minicam taped to the brake light. The data is provided by RaceChrono (free software) running on an old N95 with an external bluetooth 5Hz GPS (you can use the phone's internal GPS but it's not as accurate at only 1Hz) and the overlay is created using RaceChrono2AVI which is also free.
