haha Soccer fighting is awesome. only kicks =) How was this created? Maybe 2 soccer players got mad and started kicking each other alot and decided to call it the next olympic sport
hi mate nice vid i have too posted a vid of myself come and check it out leave a comment on the vid of what you thought and dont forget to pass it on to other people every one is welcome thanks and cheers
@TheGuyWithDaFace at this level of competition you can't just go in and attack, they keep their hands down to bait certain attacks so they can punish with their own attacks or combinations, it is basically like a chess match they already have lots of things planned out so the first person to make a mistake loses
@TheGuyWithDaFace if someone swings a bat at you would you try to block it or dodge it? In tkd we emphasis on dodging. This isn't some boxing/kick boxing match where they just stand close to each other exchanging blows with their hands up. Competition sparring is about being fast and scoring points. There's no way you can kick someone that fast with your hands up guarding your face etc.
people never get that a trained kick could be as or even more powerful as a bat swung at full speed. It just doesn't feel as powerful because the bat is one solid piece and your legs have like muscle and fat surrounding it...
there is no such thing as a strong martial arts, for some its kick boxing, for others its karate, others would say muay thai, but the truth is, its not about the style, its about the determination of the Martial Artist that makes Martial Arts so great.

They look like jumping jacks... they don't seem to be trying to kick *through* the opponent, just stopping at the point of impact - eh, good enough for point scoring Olympic games, but certainly not the street.
Or the fact that people are getting knoucked out by these kicks, and yes they are kickign to destroy, their just nice and smooth fast kicks, not your average two year old bull shit...
And yes, actualy TKD teaches real "THROUGH" kicks.
No one argues this. The Olympics is shit for martial arts. They are only scoring points here. There's no power. It's not fighting anymore, it's just a game.
I do Muay Thai. There's talk of getting Muay Thai in the Olympics, but most professional fighters will think it's a joke if it's wearing body armor.
I could go on, bwhahah most professional fighters haven't taken the kicks they do during the olympics, but honestly post a video of you taking one so damn well from one of these athletes I will believe you.
Its for the fighters own good, like the head gear in boxing, protection, you want to hurt but not kill.
Yes I was a Muay Thai practitioner at one point of time, chances you are in a watered down gym.
No. I train in Thailand by a for mer Champion of Thailand, Ole Kiet Oneway. I also fight, without protection.
The sport is being ruined. There are some powerful kicks. But most the round house they do here are weak as fuck, just trying to hit the point scoring areas, but would never land a KO in real life.
I disagree kindly sir, this is in fact, the SPORT side of Tae Kwon Do, originally we tried using straight Tae Kwon Do, and without any sort of protection including gloves, it became messy and to some legends lethal. So they decided to have something that would still be full contact that would hurt and knouckout, but without the lethality and messenis of actual fighting.
The kicks would easily break ribs, its a fact. Traditional TKD which all these atheletes trained in, teaches real fighting.
Oylmpics boxing uses headgear...MT isn't an olympic sport.
I keep trying to drill my point into that head of yours, but you should know if you practice TKD that the traditional methods are very lethal and effective.
Various hand techniques like the spear fingers that produce little power, but towards the right area, EX. Throat, Zyphoid Process, Sternem, Groin, ETC they can be lethal or hugely debilitating towards combatives.
Disarms, the bane of handguns and knives, I was taught not only to take the weapon, but other ways to use the weapon to kill the user with out taking it away. I have a long list, and If you want I can share more.
And Taekwondo teaches the art of the fist and the foot, unlike the usuall youtuber that see's sparring videos of people wildly kicking at eachother and jumping everywhere, Traditional TKD which all athletes of TKD have been taught [some need to be taught more] teaches fast aggresive striking with fist, foot, knee, elbow, palm, fingers, etc...and it teaches where to strike.
People can shit on TKD for its sport side, sure people that have never even actually seen TKD outside of these damn videos, but its the fact that TKD is still today a lethal Martial art, and even though its not so fabolues in the rings it still kicks ass.
I do, its the Olympics, everybody needs to go back to their country. Originally we didnt fight with padding, but it's very neccesary, matches aren't once a year but for me monthly and practices daily, hammering at eachother day to day would produce negative effects.
But hell if people are barfing up blood, or in my case having three ribs broken, then what's the big deal?
Even in the head gear a close friend of mine had his jaw shattered.
Beleive me the stuff I have done wouldn't be considered soft. And the fact is TKD isn't professional fighting...The last thing you think of when 2 ribs are broken and your lunge is punctured is this shit being soft.
My Grandmaster, and Master would take us out on jogs, while we ran they would point out useful objects to win a fight, or strategic locations to gain the upper hand.
We often trained in parkinglots, allyways... etc, to make us used to not only landing on our faces, but from getting cut by concrete or corners, we did many things, ask a question and I will try to answer.
Then he is holding that information to make you a better student, jumping from basic TKD to more advanced is very dangerous, such as the fact of some schools teaching nerve strikes to none masters, perhaps you are being taught combo's and techniuqes without knowing it, this is very common in good Dojangs.
Reflect with him first on this, it's important to give feedback to your Masters and Grandmasters.
But give me a couple of situations and I will list good combos, and techniques.
Reflect on the techniques you have been taught, many times basic white belt, and colored belt forms and techniques are the best approach to fights, many people over look the basics, to eager to know what they don't.
But look towards your poomseas espicially, they show the ways of the Hwarang Warriors, and if they are effective in battle there evective in fights.
i know an axe kick is powr full i was in my tkd class yester day and all the class was watching theys dude sparring n shit this kid who came from africa nam john gave this dude an axe kick and the poor dude was ko almost like a hr. lol some funny shit
people dont use punches cause its harder to score with a punch in olympic sparring, it has to be a jarring blow= the opponent has to be like 3 ft distant from where you punch him... and not all the refs can correctly see the technique to judge it... hence wasting energy
this is all fine and dandy from a distance, but it seems like when they are up close, they don't know what to do. not to mention it LOOKS nice, but where are the punches?
yes, yes bash me call me an idiot whatever. but just respond to what i SAID

yes Athens was better than Beijing by a long shot. Idk why you have -6 thumbs down. But the WTF rules have changed

180+ or jumping kick to body 2 point
head shot 3 point

you should join the sparring team! i havent been there in a few months due to a knee injury.. But when i come back ill mainly be at sparring practises
WTF all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) i just love WTF. im a junior black belt.i hope one i go to the olympics..:).2016.ill try for 2016. and it sux cuz in the town where i live there's only 1 WTF school :(.
well yes i for example have competet once a karate-fighter and once someone who was doing kung fu... and i think it depends on the fighter, and not on the style, you just have to be more open minded to compete against other styles! well of course its not easy cause you dont have your normal conter-attacks and so on but its fun
In Taekwondo u can use hand, but your head will be cut off....cuz the real Art is to kick the Head from any side with a LEG,with hand is very easily, just punch it and that`s it.With the leg is very difficult....that`s the different between WTF and ITF(with due respect)....:))
Olympic style sparring (WTF) focusses on leg techniques in sparring. Other styles (ITF and TAGB for instance) use alot of hand techniques aswell as kicks
I hate the ITF and WTF because you have to be a member of them to compete and shit. Thats some bullshit. The tournaments should just be open to any styles.
yo you got to get your facts correct before making a comments on Taekwondo. This is not K1 or the ISKA something like that you know what i'm saying. it is the Olympics. It is how they do it in the Olympics only. In K1 you will see hand technique being use more. Still if you don't like it that is cool too but keep in mind that Taekwondo as a sport can be use differently. I don't knock any of it. I love all martial arts. If you can do better then them talk all you want to if not well. . . . ;-)
to all of you guys that thinks that tkd has no hand techinniqes, in itf ou use hands very much cuz it's the traditionel taekwondo or the real one, in wtf it's pretty useless to use punches cuz you use torso gear and ou can't hit the opponents face and you doesent hurt the opponent if u punch him on the torso
This is Tae Kwon Do Olympic-Style sparring. When you can kick like this, hand techniques mean very little. It's all about distance, timing and speed. Punches rarely count as points unless your rock your opponent's world. ;)
I don't think it woould be very wise to practice just foot techniques though. For sport, maybe, but for everything else, it would be nice to have hand techniques, wouldn't it?
..they do practice hand techniques, as much as those dealing with the legs. but, they (i should say we, because i used to practice taekwondo, now i have my own style) focus more on leg techniques in training, or during competition.
I don't know about you guys, but TKD to me shows the most love after beating the crap out of each other, with the exception of that one ref getting kicked in the face, but i guess he deserved it
thats probably true, but seriously that's not a reason not to block. it seems like their hands are just useless appandages. you were given hands, USE THEM
nice~...yaa u are right...when i`m sparring and that time i`m exhausted,i use hand to dodge every attck that came to me...that bcause skill and mind power is important...
i train goju ryu and kyokushin karate and i love taekwondo :) . planning to learn it too

@spinkicker43
Olympic Boxing does not attract the best Boxers in the world. Olympic Boxing is ametuer; it's not professional.
TKD has some very powerful strikes. The turning back kick; my most powerful strike I have straight from TKD.
However, no move in TKD is banned/illegal to use in a Muay Thai ring. Many people use the TKD back kicks in Muay Thai and have no problems.
SarahSunwalker 2 years ago
You keep talking of kicks, you must have no idea what TKD ACTUALLY teaches.
Back kicks are wonderful, but not neccesairly lethal.
spinkicker43 2 years ago
@spinkicker43
Enlighten me:
What does TKD REALLY teach?
What in TKD is more powerful than the turning back kick?
SarahSunwalker 2 years ago
Various hand techniques like the spear fingers that produce little power, but towards the right area, EX. Throat, Zyphoid Process, Sternem, Groin, ETC they can be lethal or hugely debilitating towards combatives.
Disarms, the bane of handguns and knives, I was taught not only to take the weapon, but other ways to use the weapon to kill the user with out taking it away. I have a long list, and If you want I can share more.

well yes i for example have competet once a karate-fighter and once someone who was doing kung fu... and i think it depends on the fighter, and not on the style, you just have to be more open minded to compete against other styles! well of course its not easy cause you dont have your normal conter-attacks and so on but its fun

In Taekwondo u can use hand, but your head will be cut off....cuz the real Art is to kick the Head from any side with a LEG,with hand is very easily, just punch it and that`s it.With the leg is very difficult....that`s the different between WTF and ITF(with due respect)....:))
LapeBaek 2 years ago 2
taekwondo is very dangerous game...
fareiz88 2 years ago
Olympic style sparring (WTF) focusses on leg techniques in sparring. Other styles (ITF and TAGB for instance) use alot of hand techniques aswell as kicks
TKD960 2 years ago
Yea, u have 2 be a member, and kinghercules, i bet u dont like it cause ur a fuckin illegal. Ima call the irs on ur ass u mex.
BlackBrigade12 2 years ago
what da fuck you talkin bout?
Kinghercules 2 years ago
I hate the ITF and WTF because you have to be a member of them to compete and shit. Thats some bullshit. The tournaments should just be open to any styles.
Kinghercules 2 years ago
Have you ever competed tkd against other styles? It's annoying because they constantly disobey the rules during matches.
DrMBA28 2 years ago
yo you got to get your facts correct before making a comments on Taekwondo. If you can do better then them talk all you want to if not well. . . . ;-)
KrazyDave1978 2 years ago
to all of you guys that thinks that tkd has no hand techinniqes, in itf ou use hands very much cuz it's the traditionel taekwondo or the real one, in wtf it's pretty useless to use punches cuz you use torso gear and ou can't hit the opponents face and you doesent hurt the opponent if u punch him on the torso

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Tae Kwon Do translate to "The Way Of The Hand and Foot?"
TribalHeadProduction 2 years ago
yups it sure does! = D
Alphinsly 2 years ago
yes u are right!
nosfero 2 years ago
This is Tae Kwon Do Olympic-Style sparring. When you can kick like this, hand techniques mean very little. It's all about distance, timing and speed. Punches rarely count as points unless your rock your opponent's world. ;)
lilstardust777 2 years ago
I don't think it woould be very wise to practice just foot techniques though. For sport, maybe, but for everything else, it would be nice to have hand techniques, wouldn't it?
TribalHeadProduction 2 years ago
Taekwondo is simple,
Block and parry with you hands,
and deal the damage with your leg techniques :)
necromanc223 2 years ago
..they do practice hand techniques, as much as those dealing with the legs. but, they (i should say we, because i used to practice taekwondo, now i have my own style) focus more on leg techniques in training, or during competition.

is it permitted to block kicks with underarms and hands? i don't see anybody doing it :p beautiful martial art!
Martin716 3 years ago
its permitted...no body doing it coz they know when u block there's a chance for them attack u sec time and it`ll be deadly blow....so no block de...
OriginalReason 3 years ago
thats probably true, but seriously that's not a reason not to block. it seems like their hands are just useless appandages. you were given hands, USE THEM
xD
JaeTeeTube 3 years ago
nice~...yaa u are right...when i`m sparring and that time i`m exhausted,i use hand to dodge every attck that came to me...that bcause skill and mind power is important...
