I don't think it has as much to do with frequencies as it does the brain. Music stimulates both sides of the mind, causing a sort of dance between the two hemispheres leading to relaxation. I think the most interesting thing is that even a cow's mind can recognize and appreciate pattern and logical flow in music.
Certain frequencies are known to heal or hurt. Even the earth has it's own frequency. Animals of the 4 legged variety are probably more in-tuned with these natural vibrations. ( haha in-tuned) I would be curious to see their reaction to F#.

@kimhunter2 These are not "natural vibrations". Middle C (the tuning of most modern instruments) is at 220 hz, which is man made and agreed upon.
Why do you think they would react to F# or any other note in some way? Are you implying that cows have perfect pitch?
