If I remember correctly, FF14 was built around the basis of "More graphics, less fun". This game, FF11, is "Less graphics, more fun". I'd play this over FF14 any day if you ask me. And to be honest, Square Enix should focus more on the gameplay elements and stop trying to produce the biggest best-est graphics there is...leave that to the Crysis series.
Also, thinking of playing this game for about a month, and from what the gameplay entails, I think I'll like it...a side game away from EVE. :3

The game is really good, even though people say otherwise. There's more to do then just killing stuff. You can also do synthing and fishing there are weddings they have holiday events as well. You make lots of cool friends on there and the graphics are good too! I'm currently 75 summoner on Fairy server, name is Neptuna. I have been playing for around 4~5 years now and am really addicted to it. The quests and missions are fun to do and I love collecting fancy armor to trot around in. :-)
Do I need to buy an extra hard drive or any of that stuff? how much is it per month? and does the xbox controller keyboard work? or do i need a different keyboard for it?
no extra hard drive, it takes 8 gig though, its like 12 bucks a month, the xbox controller keyboard works (i think), or you could use a usb keyboard, OR just the xbox controller, but then you'd have a hard time talking.
all depends on what system you play it on. if you have xbox 360, you should already be able to connect to internet so shouldnt need anything but the game. and yes the controller keyboard will work, I use my PS2 to play it and I use my my PS2 keyboard on it. so pretty much all you need to worry about is if you wanna play it or not. ^_^
and oldphoque, i have never heard or seen an MMORPG that can be played offline. never. and theres never a positive or negative to any game until you have tried it yourself.
the environment is interesting, like the caves and stuff O_O
this game isn't really for those hardcore pvp people.. but WoW isnt a pvp game anymore(the 80 cap really screwed pvp over)

no extra hard drive, it takes 8 gig though, its like 12 bucks a month, the xbox controller keyboard works (i think), or you could use a usb keyboard, OR just the xbox controller, but then you'd have a hard time talking.

all depends on what system you play it on. if you have xbox 360, you should already be able to connect to internet so shouldnt need anything but the game. and yes the controller keyboard will work, I use my PS2 to play it and I use my my PS2 keyboard on it. so pretty much all you need to worry about is if you wanna play it or not. ^_^

id go with FF11 even though the pvp sucks ass
the environment is interesting, like the caves and stuff O_O
this game isn't really for those hardcore pvp people.. but WoW isnt a pvp game anymore(the 80 cap really screwed pvp over)
ff11 is very fun if ur real bored.. u know why its still thriving? the chat box is HUGE and u usually just talk to people lol and your guild and try to level cap than do the quests <_<
like one day i really just talked to the people in the fishing area LOL XD

Only if they are in the same party. Multiple 'solo' players cannot attack the same mob unless one of them have 'called for help'

This is leagues ahead of WoW. If you want an actual game that requires some amount of skill to play, this is it. WoW you sit, click, and pick a skill at the right time.

2.yes its called FFXI online for a reason for pc as well yes as also xbox360 and ps2
3.cant compare it to WoW this one takes alot more patience and hard work to earn anything unlike WoW where as you can get to max level in a week or so this it takes much longer and patience...

4.buy the vanadiel collection its 20 bucks like everything else and includes all expansions plus 30 days free and 30 day trial for a friend but you still need a credit card to fill in even for the 30 days free if you want to cancel afterwards before 30 days go ahead and you can download it if you buy it cant download and play online without a valid key only one per person.
5.This has tons of adventure and skills and action in it and I mean beyond what you can think of and comparing to wow cant
