I can't continue watching you massacre your own units. Some tips during battles, keep your archers at the frontlines. They are your first units of contact. If the enemy charges at the archers, pull them back and send in the melee. Try to flank everytime you get. Routing enemies are your best friends. Also, take advantage of high ground for your units. They extend the range of your archers. I doubt you have been playing since Rome.

Vassels are short term solutions. Part of the flaw of total war is that vassels just suck to have around. You are better off with just allies, or just take out your enemies.

ok u dnt need 2 be half smart to realise that an army on the high ground has the advantage. why didn u just charge the forces that were coming up on you? u wud have shattered ther morale as well as weakining their force significantly just by charging downhill. A tru strategists works out a way 2 achieve his objective with as minimal a loss as possble. PLEASE stop using ashigaru. 6 samuraii units can fuck up an army of ashigaru

Well, something you have to keep in mind about your vassal is that if they join you in war they receive no benefit from it. I'm pretty sure you're not going to let them join you in the spoils of war, so they have no incentive to let their soldiers die just because you said so. You have to sweeten the deal, so they can actually get something out it. (And if they still refuse then they're just assholes..)

you ALWAYS must offer the AI something in return for them to accept an offer as big as declaring war on another faction, that's just how it works. if you propose something without offering them something in return, the negotiations are doomed to failure.

also the archers are best put in front when enemy cavlary is not present, the wooden walls and archers would have blocked enemy arrow shots from hitting your spearmen, when the enemy is too close, THEN you pull ur archers behind your line

In Japan, Tsutsui Junkei ( the lord of tsutsui-clan ) is a notorious timeserver.

In the Battle of Yamazaki, He didn't help his boss when he was asking for his help.

So, It was perfectly natural that Tsutsui didn't help you :)

Words of advice: If your trying to take a city attack an army out side of it. it lures there city army to help them and you wont be fighting them in the city. Also what ive noticed in this game is if you kill there general or make him route the army will shatter easily. Try to aim you forces at them. and keep your general safe in battles! I hope you read this and take it into consideration. :)

Increasing tax wont affect the province that you omit tax to or you can put more garrison on settlement that you dont want them to rebel.

Nice battle! I don't know if you know but when the enemy is too close to your bow units, you can send them out to support the front line as melee units. You can do this by pressing F or clicking the clashing sword button which is fourth button and below the run button. This toggles melee mode on.

first thing I did was play as chobuske clan or whatever they're called on legendary. Then after 3 roudns I had all the 3 other clans on the mini island on me, comming at me one at a time, every round for like 10 rounds. I won 7/8 battles, 2 heroic wins. then I lost.. never playing legendary again in my life

when you deploy your ashigaru dont forget to put them on "spear mode".Because that is very useful against cav and infantry, and it boosts their moral. As long as you dont get flanked.

Probably one of the best things you could do would be to recruit more samurai swords men. They will destroy that army that clan has in that castle. When you have swords men, many AI armies can't stand against you because they usually fill their ranks with poor units.
