A question asked below that bears repeating: If Bale is British, why is he speaking with an American accent while out of character? If he's in character, then why did he throw that football at Tony?
He's been out of England so long he's pretty much lost his accent. He's got a really weird accent, it blurs the line between really strong American and really weak English.
To the people of England he's pretty much a traitor though.
