What happened to what I just wrote?I had many interruptions before I could complete it but, the gist of what I thought was that, separately, these are two excellent artists. In this duet, Anne Murray, an alto, is not the best choice for Michael. It's a sexy, teasing song that needs someone who can sing in a higher pitch to make this duet "pop". I can see Mariah Carey or Martina M. for a couple of artists to do justice for this song with MB.

I love Michael on this song and every performer takes artistic license with the lyrics of a song but, although I also like Anne Murray, on this duet I don't she's the right partner to have chosen for this sexy song. To me, separately great but, her voice isn't right for this song. I don't see her with Michael and someone with a higher voice would've been a better choice. It's exactly how Johnny Mercer wrote it. It won the Academy Award For Best Song Of 1949. In the movie, it's sung by two couples - Red Skelton/Betty Garrett and Ricardo Montalban/Esther Williams. Once of the best versions that wasn't ever commercially recorded was by Phil Harris and Alice Faye. They sang it on their radio show, but never released it as a single. But it has been reproduced on some Phil Harris CD's. Johnny Mercer & Maggie Whiting also did a fine version.

Michael's voice sounded great here and although I love this song and Anne Murray(I've never seen such old pictures of her in ages- she looks great,though); I don't love this version of the two of them, together. When they sing in unison, the sound of the two of them sounds better than when they each sing separately. It is a great, sexy song and the pictures were very cute, but another female voice, more feminine, would have sounded better to compliment Michael's voice. Sue Ellen
