Children of Bodom is what we who know what we're talking about refer to as "Melodic Death Metal," possibly with "Finnish" in front since this differs from Melodic Death Metal like, say, The Black Dahlia Murder. And it most certainly does not sound the same. Listen to "Lake Bodom" or "Children of Decadence" (which has been sampled in a rap song... much to my dismay) and then this. Sounds like 3 different bands. All CoB. AYDY was their transition to thrash.
