@11981942 You are able to choose your job, and decide what conditions you believe you can tolerate. And you are free to leave if the conditions are ever intolerable. These horses do not have the luxury. So honestly, using your own working conditions/hours as an example has no basis. I'm sorry.
I think you people spend far too much humanising animals. I love horses, don't get me wrong but they are horses NOT people. EQUINE not HUMAN. They don't experience things in the way we do.
@Roidz08 But they still experience them. They are more easily frightened by the sights/sounds/smells of the city, and therefore put under more stress by them. They need to be looked after by us, not simply dismissed because they are not the same species as us.
Your all extremists these horses are all well fed and yesthey all have drivers licences and their have only been 3 accidents in 25 years and the mark you see at 3:14 isnt from driving that is a health problem and its allready been taken care of
Can the carriage horse trade be monitored, regulated and humane? A working horse is not, in my opinion as a lifelong horse owner and handler - inherently a bad thing. Horses have simple needs. Wonder if these can be met in a NYC environment? Stabling, turnout, R & R with other horses...proper food and some freedom and downtime. New York is such an enterprising and creative place - surely there is a way. Rides only in Central Park, perhaps, with very restricted hours?
No, I am a carriage driver in Canada. I do not wish to watch your biased propaganda. The main use for draft horses is meat, I think that they are much happier on the streets of New York or Victoria than in a tin can.
I think we should take the carriage drivers and make them pull a carriage around. Oh wait, I have, it's not that work for a human, let alone a well built 2000lb draft horse, conditioned and bred for this kind of work.

All you have to do is google NYC Dept of Consumer Affairs and the carriage drivers need no driver license and no horse experience. Only 5 day of on the job training by another driver.

Why would NYC Carriage companies hire someone without LOTS of horse experience?? Doesn't make sense.

Right! Where is the EVIDENCE that all these horses are going to slaughter? Most carriage horses are bought at auctions where they would OTHERWISE go to slaughter... they're rescue horses!
Retirement homes, indeed. Rescue the Thoroughbreds-- they often get crippled by racing and only a few are rescued to become "pasture ornaments". Or they race until they end up in the Virgin Islands track then get dumped to starve, tied to trees.
As we, many NYC people know about NYC stables, they are rescuing lots horses from places(companies) where make animal's food with horse meats. These companies find blind horses, sick horses, injured horses and then kill them to produce the other animal's foods.
NYC stable protest for the kind of animal cruel, and buys horses from there and rescue these horses to let them die in their farm peacefully or use voluntarily the handicapped kids or work in NYC if their enough healthy.
YOu are definitely a carriage driver with another username, what pathetic liars. Those horses have NO mandatory retirement home. And how sick to use disabled children as an excuse to abuse horses.

yes, I do carry whips and I do use them on my horse. I will also use it on those fucking animal activists. My horse don't mind when I whip him. He don't mind not eating for hours and working dehydrated. He is a great horse. Sometimes, he starts slowing down and/or limping so then I whip his ass. I have to make my monies
why are you guys arguing agaisnt this video ! It's the truth i watched an entire documentry about it on the doc channel . Everything kathleenburn's is saying is right .
Horse carriages belong in a suitable envrionment and with caring owners...obviously the NY carriages are an outdated means of travel and entertainment, only causing further damage for both human and animal alike...
Please end this unecessary suffering, im not an american but i know well enough to stand against the pain of these wonderful animals...give the horses a break and let them live well, save a horse... ride a cowboy...either way lol...great video!!!
If looking whore-ish is a childish pic to you. You sound like a typical kid with low self esteem, thinking you look cool until another 5 years .
you guarantee I have never done police work, lol, I got fired or I have never done "officer work" before?? Make up your mind. You really have no credibility do you.
you study law, being recruited, and are in FBI training for BS. WOW
You want some advice on the inside; they watch the females more. They don't want a liability. Don't write on public forums telling people what the law is,(It shows them you are looking to be in a position to boss others)and LOSE the PICTURE you have that gives a whore-ish impression. So you need to be careful sweeite, not me. Listen or not, you'll find out the hard way.
I will direct my comments as much as I want to people I have SEEN abusing animals.

karbonetik - Well take it for someone who has already worked in a police station. I don't see you going that far. Slander is not a crime by any means fool; wanna-be-cop's don't know anything. Slander is an ORAL statement towards a direct person. Going on TV or the radio makes you libel ONLY in a lawsuit IF the person can prove that direct statement caused them financial or other loss..LOL call me when you are on the job.
I have stated what I have seen, (freedom of speech) which is ABUSE!!!
You need to read my comments better before "attacking" me as usual.
It don't matter if they love the horse more that their kids, its still a horific situation they are in.
POLICE horses have bottles thrown at them and are placed in riots. Are you serious, do you hear yourself. Lets pretend that was true, it's ok to abuse the animal in another way, NO, its not.
If a police dog is killed, the criminal gets jail time as if they killed a human officer, so not sure what your point was there
It's not about the driver being "bad" You could love the horse more than your kids. It's still not right treating them the way they are treated. I have never read on thing of "properganda". I am going off what I have seen with my own eyes since I was 16 years old. It's pretty disgusting.
that is not true, even the Fed govt released a study that wild horses live longer and have healthy feet than domestic horses. they don't need shoes in their natural environment since their grooves develop to their environment. Read the "lame Horse" and it discuss all these issues the lameness of these domestic horses. Carriages horses in NYC are the extreme to put them in such pavement with buses, tour buses, garbarge truck etc
Yes, WILD horses do have better feet than DOMESTIC horses. That does not mean that putting a DOMESTIC horse out in the wild will automatically give him better feet. THOUSANDS of years of selective breeding has given him the need for shoes, special feed, and human care.
it is quite sad that people like you don't have any compassionate for these poor NYC carriage horses. ONly extremist would put these horses in such traffic and object them to live in commercial building. Force to live an artificial life with very short life span for the sake of these extremist's greed. Karma is a good thing.
i am mystified. The drivers have not had a raise in 19 years and the cost of everything has gone up, including maintaining a horse. Yet they all seem to own huge farms and have kept all the horses they ever had. Does that sound realistic?
Productive lives, i guess you mean your making money off their suffering. I have never seen a happy carriage horse on the street. they look very depressed. i don't make money off Sadie, all i do is take care of her 24/7 i am with her. If an animal doesn't make money for you they are worthless. seems many think that way. your horses are slaves to you nothing more, discarded when they no longer make you a profit. You are a stalker, and a real nut also.i will ignore you, you have a serious problem.
sadly Sadie isn't well, special needs. but that is some thing you would not understand. she was adopted, and came from abuse. Sadie doesn't want to go out, she only feels safe in her home. i will not force her to do what she does not want to do. this is how any animal is when they have been abused in the past. any one else had Sadie, she would not be alive now, i just wouldn't give up on her. i have spoon fed her for over 7 years, because she wouldn't eat on her own. i have kept her alive.
Wild horses are free, to do what they choose, carriage horses are not free. people have a choice, your carriage horses do not have a choice. perhaps the stalker should look at itself, and see who is really sick. Stalking is obsessively following or constantly observing another person.
horses getting struck and killed by traffic, electrocuted on the streets. standing hours in the sun, no shade, no water. being worked excessive hours in traffic. horses limping up 5th ave. late at night, disabled. horses not povided with blankets in freezing weather. horses being driven on ice and snow covered streets. your drivers are public, that is news and information. news can not be kept a secret. when did youtube start charging admission? horses not be cooled down in the hot summer.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 14) - Thoroughbred racetracks in the U.S. reported more than three horse deaths a day last year and 5,000 since 2003, and the vast majority were put down after suffering devastating injuries on the track, according to an Associated Press survey. many other deaths went unrecorded.
Oh another one that gets pleasure out of horses suffering and getting killed. you approve of this also.
i can understand why you would not want anyone to take pictures of your carriage drivers abuse of their horses. i guess you will pass a law that no carriage horses, or drivers are allowed to be photographed. abuse must be kept a secret.
Ok so you can work the horses in the worst weather there is. interesting how you are making money off the suffering of horses. you even brag about it. as i said it is all GREED. your horses paid a lot for your building, and you are proud of it. the more they suffer the better for you, and the richer you get. i am a New Yorker, so back off. i find your HARASSMENT of me very odd behavior. you seem to be following my every move. they call that stalking.
your horses shouldn't have been out at all yesterday. As for insurance, i know all about that game. making a profit off insurance money is nothing new. your having your horses out yesterday at all tells me what kind of person you are. GREED that is the name of the game.
Carriage horses are not supposed to work during adverse weather conditions that includes heavy rain. There were a few carriages still taking fares during the thunder storm on Saturday. That is exploitation. Leaving a horse to soak up the rain, without any way to help dry him off is inhumane and not good for his coat ... besides being illegal. When a horse's coat gets soaking wet it cannot act as an insulator from either cold or hot weather. And you people say you love your horses. Right.
You can't have it both ways. Either horses are outdoor animals (they get rained on) or they aren't. In the latter case, you can't argue that horses should be "free from man." Man built the barns and made the blankets.
What do you call what they live in? That's the barn! It has stalls and straw and hay and water! It's where the horses live and their equipment is housed.
And the horses in Philadelphia are anything but abused. Ours have a nice BARN to live in and three yards to go roll in on a daily basis.
There are no barns in NYC. I don't know about Philly, but I bet you abuse your horses just as well based on your remarks. Amrou5, a driver from J.C. Cutters posted many remarks but now that J.C. Cutters has been shut down she disappeared. Will you disappeared when you are shut down.
Sorry if you don't like me speaking the truth. I'm not amrou5 or anyone else, and you can't silence the truth just because you believe in ARA fairy tales.
I feel sorry for you. All you can do is stand on the curb and heckle people, or come on youtube and type. I get to spend every hour of my working life (and then some) with the world's most beautiful, majestic animals.
My horse friends look forward to seeing me every morning. How about your coworkers?
Feel sorry for the horses in nyc who don't even have a mandatory retirement home. Perhaps a life without cruelty is a fairy tale to you but many of us will make it a reality. YOU don't even live in NYC but based on your remarks I bet you abuse yours horse in PHILLY
I always like how no matter how many facts I have backing me up on this, you and your fellow radicals who have never spent ANY real time with horses resort to name calling and false accusations of abuse. Have you been to my website? Read my blog? Looked at my pictures?
If not, then you cannot speak about me and what I do.
Meanwhile, I have been to NYC. I have watched your vids.
A life without cruelty is not a fairy tale. It's ALREADY a reality for many carriage horses.
horsesinnyc is nuts and wouldnt admit the truth if she were brought to my farm, into our stable, or to the amish farms. Theres no talking to these people. They dont have the ability to reason. thats why they are losing so badly. not everyone is as blind as they are...thank god.
Amish farms? You sure have the cheek to suggest that the Amish are humane animal handlers. On the contrary, they are by far the most abusive lot of miserable animal cruelty profiteers cashing in on the despicable puppy mill business.
The Amish brutalise their dogs, shoot them in the heads when they are no longer profitable, and you expect critical thinkers to believe that they treat their horses otherwise?
Silly animal exploiter, get some new and exciting spin. You are a ghastly bore.
You are not a carriage driver in NYC and why are you asking me to read your blogs. I live and work in NYC and I seen the abuse with my own eyes. YOu have stated no facts and there are NO barns in NYC and there are no mandatory retirement homes for the horses in NYC.
If one reads your comments, one will see no logic in it! If man could ask, he wouldn't! He feels he has the right to do whatever he wants. And for that fact...he does. That is the problem, man takes and never gives back.
Like I said, your big fat ego is showing! Man ain't that intelligent and by the looks of your comments, you aren't letting me down.
Have a good day and like I said, educate yourself to animal abuse...it might help you to see the light!
the only comment I have for you is, get some morals! Taking the life away from even a horse without his consent is wrong! There isn't one creature that was put on this earth that was supposed to make our sorry lives better. Like I said, they have their own agenda!
Who ever said I didn't think horses should do anything??? They have their own reason for being here!!! and it isn't for man to make money off of them!!! Get a life!
And yes, horses, dogs, cats, and so on have horrible lives because of US!!!!!! Get some knowledge!!!!!!!
I cannot believe as I read what some of you are saying, you are more outraged about the pricing than you are about the lives of these horses??? Get some morals...these horses deserve so much better. They deserve to be free from man, and living the way they were supposed to live. Not making a buck for some sorry soul who can't get a job doing anything else! This is totally sad! And INHUMANE!
today, i pass by the hack line and the horse looked like it was going pass out from the heat and lack of water. The driver looked at me and told me to fuck my own business before he slaps me. :(
I think it is important we start taking down their license number, and find out what stable they are from. that way we have record of each driver and stable. they don't want us to know which stable they are from, but it is important we know. especially he told you he would slap you that is assault. i think having a record of these incidences is very important.
Yes but they hide their faces with hats and glasses. Also they cover their licenses. But this does not surprise me. After all, look at how they treat those poor horses. ;( END the Cruelty and support the ban
they cover their licenses, maybe i am wrong but i think that is illegal. a taxi driver can not cover his license. if you can, take a picture of their license hidden. if they say one threat to you call 911. i believe they are breaking the law by concealing their license. this is even a danger for the tourist they have no idea who the driver is. they are dangerous to everyone.
they told me they were from NYC. that they drive carriages in NYC. Why did they tell me they were from NYC. I didn't ask thenm where they come from, they were very proud they came from NYC. the carriage driver was the owner, they told me they owned the horses. that they have a lot of horses. they were there to sell the horses they brought to New Holland, and buy new ones to replace them. that is a quote from the owner of the horses. how many stables in the city have a lot of horses? .
I saw a wedding carriage, from your stable. the your name was on the carriage. The two horses were kepted standing in the hot sun in the summer, with no water. the name of your stable was on the carriage. so don't tell me that you are kind to your horses, not true. no water, standing in hot sun, that is cruel.
Yes and horses will contiue to be killed on all the streets of these cities. where do you think their used up horses go, to slaughter. you are very proud of that fact. Our derby winners go to slaughter, so what are they going to do to carriage horses, slaughter them. you live in the past, some people can not live in the future.
i do not remember which carriage driver it was. But they were very proud they brought their horses to New Holland to be sold for meat. that is what they do, so do not tell me it is not the truth. I was there.
ASPCA supports the ban. google NYC horse drawn carriages and you will see all the reported accidents and the injured and dead horses reported in the papers. No lies. OPen your eyes and see thoses horses in TRAFFIC. It is INHUMANE and a PUBLIC safety issue. horses are roadkill in nYC
Stop it there now. i have been to New Holland and rescued horses. I have seen you drivers, bring your worn out horses there to get rid of them, to sell to the meat man. then you buy horses to replace those you dumped at New Holland. That is rehab sending them to slaughter. i have seen it with my own eyes. i am a witness to what you do to your worn out horses, that are no longer any use to you. you don't care that they go to slaughter, you don't even think about them. Rehab my foot.
i do not approve of riding stables in the city either. Horses do not belong on the city streets. As for these stables that do not believe in sprinkler systems in their barns. They just don't care about their horses at all. Horses are burnt alive in these stables. 21 horses in a Brooklyn stable never had a chance. any thing goes for insurance money, that is what it is all about.
stop living in the past, go into the future, that means no horses on the streets in NYC.
Horses, unfortunately, live in flammable barns, made of wood and filled with straw and hay, all over the country. They die in unfortunate barn fires in the best barns in KY.
Yes, but we can not turn time back. New York is like China since it is condoning Animal Cruelty. People already use mass transit and alternative methods such as biking, walking, pedicabs and rollerblading. there is no room for these horses in NYC congested streets. it is inhumane and unsafe for them and us. have a heart and pity those poor horses
for your information these vintage cars would be updated, so they would not pollute the city. they will be clean cars, they will be vintage cars, but cars of the future.
How can Christine Quinn TURN HER BACK on the suffering of these helpless, sweet animals? I implore her to visit the stables on West 52nd, between 11th and the West Side Highway where Clancy did in his stall. This is just across the street from DeWitt Clinton Park. How did he die Christine? How CAN YOU DO NOTHING?
How can Christine Quinn turn her back on the suffering of these sweet animals? I implore her to visit the hell holes these horses live in! Clancy died in the $5M stables across from DeWitt Clinton Park on West 52nd! How did this beautiful horse die, Christine? Where is the OUTRAGE?
These pictures proves to me the real side of NYC horse drawn carriage industry. Thanks Speaker Quinn, for selling NYC and the Horses out to the Lobbyists. Thanks for your fine work.
Great images. This slide show shows the NYC carriage industry for what it really is and it certainly is not glamorous or romantic. There is no hiding the pictures of the horses or the stables. The pictures of Spotty at the end are particularly sad. He was being led away to be euthanized after running out of control and injuring himself in a tragic accident. This industry must come to an end.
The insinuation that carriage horses are "disgarded" and sent to slaughter is just that ---an INSINUATION. And if the horses photographed at auction with the auction tags on their rumps were NOT NYC carriage horses, then you are deliberately lying about NYC carriage horses. The NYC carriage association has its own retirement farm- Blue Star Equiculture. Many carriage horse owners retire them to their own farms. Many are sold to special service liveries were they work only a few days a month.

He don't mind not eating for hours and working dehydrated. He is a great horse. Sometimes, he starts slowing down and/or limping so then I whip his ass. I have to make my monies

It's apparent you study law. LOL

karbonetik - Well take it for someone who has already worked in a police station.
I have stated what I have seen, (freedom of speech) which is ABUSE!!!
trixiebella1111 3 years ago
You need to read my comments better before "attacking" me as usual.
It don't matter if they love the horse more that their kids, its still a horific situation they are in.
POLICE horses have bottles thrown at them and are placed in riots. Are you serious, do you hear yourself. Lets pretend that was true, it's ok to abuse the animal in another way, NO, its not.
If a police dog is killed, the criminal gets jail time as if they killed a human officer, so not sure what your point was there
trixiebella1111 3 years ago
It's not about the driver being "bad" You could love the horse more than your kids. It's still not right treating them the way they are treated. I have never read on thing of "properganda". I am going off what I have seen with my own eyes since I was 16 years old. It's pretty disgusting.

that is not true, even the Fed govt released a study that wild horses live longer and have healthy feet than domestic horses. they don't need shoes in their natural environment since their grooves develop to their environment. Read the "lame Horse" and it discuss all these issues the lameness of these domestic horses. Carriages horses in NYC are the extreme to put them in such pavement with buses, tour buses, garbarge truck etc
horsesinnyc 3 years ago
Yes, WILD horses do have better feet than DOMESTIC horses. That does not mean that putting a DOMESTIC horse out in the wild will automatically give him better feet. THOUSANDS of years of selective breeding has given him the need for shoes, special feed, and human care.

Very very sad, sad .... Poor horses. Let's go to country for all horses.
grimbragreen 3 years ago
it is quite sad that people like you don't have any compassionate for these poor NYC carriage horses. ONly extremist would put these horses in such traffic and object them to live in commercial building. Force to live an artificial life with very short life span for the sake of these extremist's greed. Karma is a good thing.
horsesinnyc 3 years ago
i am mystified. The drivers have not had a raise in 19 years and the cost of everything has gone up, including maintaining a horse. Yet they all seem to own huge farms and have kept all the horses they ever had. Does that sound realistic?
machoman42 3 years ago
oh, sadie. so kind of you to care for her. finally she found a good home.
horsesinnyc 3 years ago
Productive lives, i guess you mean your making money off their suffering. I have never seen a happy carriage horse on the street. they look very depressed. i don't make money off Sadie, all i do is take care of her 24/7 i am with her. If an animal doesn't make money for you they are worthless. seems many think that way. your horses are slaves to you nothing more, discarded when they no longer make you a profit. You are a stalker, and a real nut also.i will ignore you, you have a serious problem.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
sadly Sadie isn't well, special needs. but that is some thing you would not understand. she was adopted, and came from abuse. Sadie doesn't want to go out, she only feels safe in her home. i will not force her to do what she does not want to do. this is how any animal is when they have been abused in the past. any one else had Sadie, she would not be alive now, i just wouldn't give up on her. i have spoon fed her for over 7 years, because she wouldn't eat on her own. i have kept her alive.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
Wild horses are free, to do what they choose, carriage horses are not free. people have a choice, your carriage horses do not have a choice. perhaps the stalker should look at itself, and see who is really sick. Stalking is obsessively following or constantly observing another person.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
horses getting struck and killed by traffic, electrocuted on the streets. standing hours in the sun, no shade, no water. being worked excessive hours in traffic. horses limping up 5th ave. late at night, disabled. horses not povided with blankets in freezing weather. horses being driven on ice and snow covered streets. your drivers are public, that is news and information. news can not be kept a secret. when did youtube start charging admission? horses not be cooled down in the hot summer.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 14) - Thoroughbred racetracks in the U.S. reported more than three horse deaths a day last year and 5,000 since 2003, and the vast majority were put down after suffering devastating injuries on the track, according to an Associated Press survey. many other deaths went unrecorded.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
Oh another one that gets pleasure out of horses suffering and getting killed. you approve of this also.
i can understand why you would not want anyone to take pictures of your carriage drivers abuse of their horses. i guess you will pass a law that no carriage horses, or drivers are allowed to be photographed. abuse must be kept a secret.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
Horse was working out in the heavy rain and I posted the video here in YOUTUBE.
horsesinnyc 3 years ago
Ok so you can work the horses in the worst weather there is. interesting how you are making money off the suffering of horses. you even brag about it. as i said it is all GREED. your horses paid a lot for your building, and you are proud of it. the more they suffer the better for you, and the richer you get. i am a New Yorker, so back off. i find your HARASSMENT of me very odd behavior. you seem to be following my every move. they call that stalking.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
What you write doesn't make any sense at all.
your horses shouldn't have been out at all yesterday. As for insurance, i know all about that game. making a profit off insurance money is nothing new. your having your horses out yesterday at all tells me what kind of person you are. GREED that is the name of the game.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
Carriage horses are not supposed to work during adverse weather conditions that includes heavy rain. There were a few carriages still taking fares during the thunder storm on Saturday. That is exploitation. Leaving a horse to soak up the rain, without any way to help dry him off is inhumane and not good for his coat ... besides being illegal. When a horse's coat gets soaking wet it cannot act as an insulator from either cold or hot weather. And you people say you love your horses. Right.
machoman42 3 years ago
I expected to hear that, Greed, that is what it is all about. These drivers they don't fool me.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
You can't have it both ways. Either horses are outdoor animals (they get rained on) or they aren't. In the latter case, you can't argue that horses should be "free from man." Man built the barns and made the blankets.
thedrafthorse 3 years ago
There are NO BARNS in NYC and I feel sorry for your horses IN PHILADELPHIA, I did know horses were abused there as well.
horsesinnyc 3 years ago
What do you call what they live in? That's the barn! It has stalls and straw and hay and water! It's where the horses live and their equipment is housed.
And the horses in Philadelphia are anything but abused. Ours have a nice BARN to live in and three yards to go roll in on a daily basis.
thedrafthorse 3 years ago
There are no barns in NYC. I don't know about Philly, but I bet you abuse your horses just as well based on your remarks. Amrou5, a driver from J.C. Cutters posted many remarks but now that J.C. Cutters has been shut down she disappeared. Will you disappeared when you are shut down.
horsesinnyc 3 years ago
Sorry if you don't like me speaking the truth. I'm not amrou5 or anyone else, and you can't silence the truth just because you believe in ARA fairy tales.
I feel sorry for you. All you can do is stand on the curb and heckle people, or come on youtube and type. I get to spend every hour of my working life (and then some) with the world's most beautiful, majestic animals.
My horse friends look forward to seeing me every morning. How about your coworkers?
Peace and carrots.
thedrafthorse 3 years ago
Feel sorry for the horses in nyc who don't even have a mandatory retirement home. Perhaps a life without cruelty is a fairy tale to you but many of us will make it a reality. YOU don't even live in NYC but based on your remarks I bet you abuse yours horse in PHILLY
horsesinnyc 3 years ago
I always like how no matter how many facts I have backing me up on this, you and your fellow radicals who have never spent ANY real time with horses resort to name calling and false accusations of abuse. Have you been to my website? Read my blog? Looked at my pictures?
If not, then you cannot speak about me and what I do.
Meanwhile, I have been to NYC. I have watched your vids.
A life without cruelty is not a fairy tale. It's ALREADY a reality for many carriage horses.
thedrafthorse 3 years ago 2
horsesinnyc is nuts and wouldnt admit the truth if she were brought to my farm, into our stable, or to the amish farms. Theres no talking to these people. They dont have the ability to reason. thats why they are losing so badly. not everyone is as blind as they are...thank god.
StopLiesSeeTruth 3 years ago 3
Amish farms? You sure have the cheek to suggest that the Amish are humane animal handlers. On the contrary, they are by far the most abusive lot of miserable animal cruelty profiteers cashing in on the despicable puppy mill business.
The Amish brutalise their dogs, shoot them in the heads when they are no longer profitable, and you expect critical thinkers to believe that they treat their horses otherwise?
Silly animal exploiter, get some new and exciting spin. You are a ghastly bore.
CDLver 2 years ago
You are not a carriage driver in NYC and why are you asking me to read your blogs. I live and work in NYC and I seen the abuse with my own eyes. YOu have stated no facts and there are NO barns in NYC and there are no mandatory retirement homes for the horses in NYC.

Your right it isn't new it is from the 1800s.

Have a good day and like I said, educate yourself to animal abuse...it might help you to see the light!
libover30 3 years ago
the only comment I have for you is, get some morals! Taking the life away from even a horse without his consent is wrong! There isn't one creature that was put on this earth that was supposed to make our sorry lives better. Like I said, they have their own agenda!
libover30 3 years ago
Who ever said I didn't think horses should do anything??? They have their own reason for being here!!! and it isn't for man to make money off of them!!! Get a life!
And yes, horses, dogs, cats, and so on have horrible lives because of US!!!!!! Get some knowledge!!!!!!!
libover30 3 years ago
I cannot believe as I read what some of you are saying, you are more outraged about the pricing than you are about the lives of these horses??? Get some morals...these horses deserve so much better. They deserve to be free from man, and living the way they were supposed to live. Not making a buck for some sorry soul who can't get a job doing anything else! This is totally sad! And INHUMANE!

New York, in fact, has failed to enact any legislation to protect the City's carriage horses,
although these and similar measures have been enacted in many other U.S. cities.
delgadorox 3 years ago
yes, they do cover their licenses and they cover the fee sign so they can overcharge tourists.
felixserpente 3 years ago
today, i pass by the hack line and the horse looked like it was going pass out from the heat and lack of water. The driver looked at me and told me to fuck my own business before he slaps me. :(
delgadorox 3 years ago
I think it is important we start taking down their license number, and find out what stable they are from. that way we have record of each driver and stable. they don't want us to know which stable they are from, but it is important we know. especially he told you he would slap you that is assault. i think having a record of these incidences is very important.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
Yes but they hide their faces with hats and glasses. Also they cover their licenses. But this does not surprise me. After all, look at how they treat those poor horses. ;( END the Cruelty and support the ban
delgadorox 3 years ago
they cover their licenses, maybe i am wrong but i think that is illegal. a taxi driver can not cover his license. if you can, take a picture of their license hidden. if they say one threat to you call 911. i believe they are breaking the law by concealing their license. this is even a danger for the tourist they have no idea who the driver is. they are dangerous to everyone.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
also being the fact that you seem to be on a computer all the time, that tells me one thing you are not taking care of your horses.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
they did tell me the name, so sorry i just can't remember the name. now hit me with that that i am too old to remember.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
you protest too much, and when a person does it is done out of guilt, that they have been caught.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
they told me they were from NYC. that they drive carriages in NYC. Why did they tell me they were from NYC. I didn't ask thenm where they come from, they were very proud they came from NYC. the carriage driver was the owner, they told me they owned the horses. that they have a lot of horses. they were there to sell the horses they brought to New Holland, and buy new ones to replace them. that is a quote from the owner of the horses. how many stables in the city have a lot of horses? .
kathleenburns 3 years ago
I saw a wedding carriage, from your stable. the your name was on the carriage. The two horses were kepted standing in the hot sun in the summer, with no water. the name of your stable was on the carriage. so don't tell me that you are kind to your horses, not true. no water, standing in hot sun, that is cruel.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
Yes and horses will contiue to be killed on all the streets of these cities. where do you think their used up horses go, to slaughter. you are very proud of that fact. Our derby winners go to slaughter, so what are they going to do to carriage horses, slaughter them. you live in the past, some people can not live in the future.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
i do not remember which carriage driver it was. But they were very proud they brought their horses to New Holland to be sold for meat. that is what they do, so do not tell me it is not the truth. I was there.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
ASPCA supports the ban. google NYC horse drawn carriages and you will see all the reported accidents and the injured and dead horses reported in the papers. No lies. OPen your eyes and see thoses horses in TRAFFIC. It is INHUMANE and a PUBLIC safety issue. horses are roadkill in nYC
delgadorox 3 years ago 2
Stop it there now. i have been to New Holland and rescued horses. I have seen you drivers, bring your worn out horses there to get rid of them, to sell to the meat man. then you buy horses to replace those you dumped at New Holland. That is rehab sending them to slaughter. i have seen it with my own eyes. i am a witness to what you do to your worn out horses, that are no longer any use to you. you don't care that they go to slaughter, you don't even think about them. Rehab my foot.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
Do you have photos of horses at New Holland with the license numbers from NYC branded on their feet? Show us the evidence.
thedrafthorse 3 years ago
i do not approve of riding stables in the city either. Horses do not belong on the city streets. As for these stables that do not believe in sprinkler systems in their barns. They just don't care about their horses at all. Horses are burnt alive in these stables. 21 horses in a Brooklyn stable never had a chance. any thing goes for insurance money, that is what it is all about.
stop living in the past, go into the future, that means no horses on the streets in NYC.
kathleenburns 3 years ago
Horses, unfortunately, live in flammable barns, made of wood and filled with straw and hay, all over the country. They die in unfortunate barn fires in the best barns in KY.

Yes, but we can not turn time back. New York is like China since it is condoning Animal Cruelty.
